Heavy rain poured down, beating against the glass window with a piercing sound. Lin Xia sat at the bedside, watching Xiao He toss and turn in her sleep. The faint brown mark on her palm flickered under the dim light. Suddenly, a thunderclap echoed outside, causing Xiao He to bolt awake, a strange dark glimmer flashing in her eyes for an instant before vanishing. 0

"Mommy, it hurts..." Xiao He's tender voice was tinged with a whimper as she reached out to grasp Lin Xia's wrist. Lin Xia looked down to see the mark seemingly coming to life, slowly writhing in Xiao He's palm, its color deepening and gradually taking on the shape of a seed. 0

Chen Mo heard the commotion and hurried into the room, his face as pale as paper. Ever since that harrowing battle in the garage three months ago, he had been plagued by nightmares featuring shadows of the old house and a little girl with a withered leaf birthmark. Now, seeing the change in his daughter's palm, an ominous premonition surged within him. 0

"Xia Xia, we need to return to the old house," Chen Mo said solemnly. "Perhaps only there can we find a way to completely lift the curse." 0

Lin Xia hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded. She knew that avoiding the problem would not help; only by confronting the source of the curse could they give their daughter a peaceful future. 0

The next day, after the rain cleared, the family of three drove to the ruins of the old house. Once grand, it now stood as mere remnants of walls and debris, with a decaying scent hanging in the air. As soon as Xiao He got out of the car, she walked straight into the depths of the ruins, her palm glowing faintly as if guiding her direction. 0

Lin Xia and Chen Mo followed closely behind Xiao He through the overgrown courtyard until they reached a stone slab inscribed with intricate curses. The slab emitted a soft glow, and under the sunlight, the curse began to become clearer. 0

"This is... Ancestor's diary?" Chen Mo exclaimed in surprise as he noticed that the curse on the stone slab was slowly transforming into text that recorded secrets passed down through generations of the the Chen Family. 0

It turned out that their ancestor had made a pact with mysterious forces, sealing an evil seed with a Light Stone. Each generation of the Chen Family descendants was tasked with guarding this seed. However, over time, the power of the pact weakened, and the seed began to awaken, requiring new sacrifices to maintain its seal. 0

"Grandfather secretly hid half of a Light Stone back then to leave us a glimmer of hope," Lin Xia murmured, recalling her grandfather's whispers before his passing. "The sacrifice can also become a host; this means we can transform the curse of the seed into protective power through our bloodline." 0

At that moment, Xiao He suddenly approached the stone slab. The mark on her palm resonated with its glow. She closed her eyes as if communicating with some mysterious force. After a moment, she opened her eyes, which sparkled with determination. 0

"Mommy, Daddy, I understand," Xiao He's voice was still young but carried an undeniable conviction. "I am of the Chen Family blood; I can become a new guardian and use my power to seal away the seed so that the curse will never return." 0

Lin Xia and Chen Mo exchanged glances filled with shock and heartache. How could they bear to let their young daughter shoulder such a heavy responsibility? Yet, as Xiao He’s mark grew brighter and her connection to the stone slab intensified, it felt as if fate had orchestrated this moment. 0

"Do you remember what was inscribed on the seed? 'When bloodlines are severed, only then will the curse cease,'" Lin Xia suddenly recalled with a glimmer of hope in her eyes. "Perhaps we don't need to sacrifice Xiao He; instead, we must strengthen the Chen Family's bloodline truly and overcome this curse with love and courage." 0

Chen Mo realized this too and took hold of Lin Xia's and Xiao He's hands firmly. "That's right; we are family. No matter what difficulties we face, we will confront them together. What our ancestor left us is not just a curse but also a responsibility to protect and uphold our family's faith." 0

Just then, distant waves surged violently. The black seed that Lin Xia had thrown into the sea was now drifting back ashore with the waves. In dewdrops atop its tender sprout, Xiao He’s face gradually became clear. However, unlike before, what shimmered within those dewdrops was warm light. 0

Xiao He reached out her small hand and gently caught the drifting seed. The curse on its surface suddenly changed; what had once been obscure text transformed into gentle energy that flowed into Xiao He’s body. The mark on her palm also shifted from resembling a black seed to blooming into a white flower radiating pure light. 0

"The curse has been lifted?" Chen Mo asked in surprise. 0

Lin Xia shook her head with a smile. "No, the curse hasn't been lifted; rather it has been transformed by our love and courage. From now on, the Chen Family's bloodline will no longer be sacrifices but guardians who protect this land with light." 0

As sunset approached, tranquility returned to the stone slab amidst the ruins of the old house as if everything had merely been a dream. Holding hands with her parents, Xiao He walked along the path home while her white flower flickered softly in her palm, illuminating their way forward. 0

Three months later on one night, Lin Xia stood by the window watching Xiao He play joyfully in the yard. Underneath the moonlight, Xiao He’s flower flickered rhythmically as if conversing with distant stars. Chen Mo gently walked up beside her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders filled with contentment. 0

"What do you think Xiao He will grow up to be?" Lin Xia asked softly. 0

Chen Mo smiled and replied, "No matter who she becomes as long as we are together as a family there is nothing we cannot overcome. What this curse has taught us is not fear or avoidance but courage and responsibility." 0

In the distance, the waves continued to roar, but this time, they brought not fear, but hope. The story of the the Chen Family would be rewritten in the hands of Xiao He, and the curse would ultimately dissipate in the brilliance of love and faith. 0
