Xiong Sumei was filled with confusion. Was there some charm about Jiang Chen that she was unaware of?
Outside the restaurant's private room, Qian Wenwu and a few others had not yet left. When they saw Jiang Chen come out, they watched from a distance, hesitant to approach.
“Mr. Jiang, Manager Liu, how about we go out for a stroll? Tianfu City looks quite beautiful at night,” Xiong Sumei suggested.
“Let’s check out Jinli! I’ve heard it’s nice in the evening,” Liu Pingping replied with a smile.
“Jinli, Kuan Zhai Alley, Qintai Road, and Jiu Yan Qiao all have great night views. Since we’re close to Jinli, let’s go there first. They have various local delicacies that are different from what we find in restaurants,” Xiong Sumei said.
That night, Jiang Chen, Liu Pingping, and Xiong Sumei wandered around until after eleven o'clock, and the night scenery of Tianfu City was indeed impressive.
After dropping Jiang Chen off at his hotel, Liu Pingping and Xiong Sumei parted ways. As they were saying goodbye at the hotel entrance, Xiong Sumei couldn’t hold back any longer. She tugged at Liu Pingping's arm and asked, “Manager Liu, what kind of background does Mr. Jiang have?”
“Mr. Jiang doesn’t have any special background; he’s just very capable. Miss Xiong, I really envy you for being able to spend so much time alone with Mr. Jiang,” Liu Pingping replied with a smile.
“Alone? Uh...” Xiong Sumei realized that Liu Pingping was referring to her driving Jiang Chen back. “Manager Liu, there’s something I didn’t mention earlier. On our way back from the Tibet Plateau yesterday, Mr. Jiang said he could help me fulfill a wish.”
“Really? That’s amazing! What wish did you ask Mr. Jiang to help you with?” Liu Pingping exclaimed, her face showing surprise and curiosity.
“I thought Mr. Jiang was joking when I said I wanted to see heavy snow. I didn’t expect it to actually snow; what a coincidence!” Xiong Sumei explained.
“You...” Liu Pingping stomped her foot in frustration, wanting to say something but ultimately sighed softly. “You missed an opportunity to change your fate.”
“Manager Liu, it can’t be that exaggerated! If I had said I wanted a hundred million, do you think Mr. Jiang would really help me with that?” Xiong Sumei still couldn’t understand.
“A hundred million? If you encountered a deity who said they would grant you a wish, would you be so mundane as to ask for money? You’re not someone who lacks money,” Liu Pingping said, her tone filled with regret.
In Liu Pingping’s eyes, Xiong Sumei was incredibly lucky to have met Jiang Chen and even received a promise from him. Unfortunately, she had squandered the opportunity by asking for nothing more than snow—a situation both frustrating and speechless.
“Manager Liu, Mr. Jiang isn’t a deity!” Xiong Sumei laughed.
“To me, Mr. Jiang is like a deity,” Liu Pingping suddenly became serious.
“Uh...” Xiong Sumei was taken aback.
“Forget it; why am I telling you all this? Miss Xiong, you don’t really know Mr. Jiang well yet. Although your wish may seem unfortunate now, having Mr. Jiang personally create a snowy scene is quite romantic—I genuinely envy you for that.”
“Alright then, Miss Xiong; it’s getting late. Let’s head back and rest for now. Tomorrow after Mr. Jiang leaves Tianfu City, we can sit down and chat properly,” Liu Pingping said with a smile before getting into her car and leaving. Although they hadn’t discussed business matters with Xiong Sumei tonight, this trip had been well worth it for Liu Pingping.
Xiong Sumei stood there in bewilderment.
