After parking the car, Lin Bingbing and her family walked towards the hotel with Jiang Chen. However, the Lin family deliberately quickened their pace, and the security guard at the entrance, recognizing the famous star Lin Bingbing, quickly stepped aside upon seeing her family approach.
"Mom, what are you doing?" Lin Bingbing asked as she was ushered into the hotel by her family, noticing that Jiang Chen had not followed.
"Hehe, I want to see how that guy gets in," Mother Lin said, her face lighting up at having shaken off Jiang Chen.
Sure enough, when the security guard saw Jiang Chen approaching, he immediately blocked him and asked to see an invitation. Jiang Chen naturally did not have one.
"I'm sorry, but you can't enter without an invitation," the security guard said politely.
"Hey, security brother, he's my friend. Let him in," Lin Bingbing quickly interjected.
"Since he’s Miss Lin's friend..." The security guard was taken aback; he hadn’t expected this ordinary-looking guy to be friends with a superstar. It seemed even stars had poor relatives. Out of respect for Lin Bingbing, they were inclined to let him in. However, before they could finish speaking, Mother Lin interrupted coldly.
"This guy is not our friend; he’s just a crazy fan of my daughter’s. He heard that she is getting engaged tonight and is trying to cause trouble. You must not let him in! If anything happens once he's inside, you won’t be able to handle it," Mother Lin insisted.
The security guards exchanged glances, unsure of whom to believe. However, being cautious was their priority. Since they were responsible for security tonight, they needed to eliminate any potential dangers.
"Sorry, handsome, but this event isn’t suitable for you to enter. How about you wait outside?" the security guard said politely.
Lin Bingbing wanted to say something more but was silenced by her mother’s hand over her mouth as her family pulled her inside.
Jiang Chen stood outside without moving; he knew someone would come to invite him in shortly.
Inside the venue, many guests had already arrived. Lin Bingbing's fame was substantial; almost everyone present recognized her. They had come for two reasons: to pay respects to the Shi family and out of curiosity since they had heard that Lin Bingbing looked even more beautiful in person than on television.
When Lin Bingbing made her entrance, the room fell silent.
The astonishment among the crowd wasn’t solely due to Lin Bingbing's beauty and grace; it was also because of how her family seemed to be treating her—she looked almost as if she had been brought in against her will, resisting fiercely.
As all eyes turned towards her, Lin Bingbing quickly composed herself; she needed to maintain her image as a lady and couldn’t afford to embarrass Jiang Chen.
Gathering her thoughts, she put on a smile and greeted those around her with a radiant expression.
Her smile melted hearts like snow under the sun in springtime or a gentle breeze over a serene lake—bringing a refreshing sense of joy.
"She’s so beautiful! The rumors are true; Lin Bingbing is indeed a hundred times more stunning in person than on TV."
"Absolutely gorgeous! Her skin looks flawless—like a delicate porcelain doll."
