After returning home, I called A Fei out and took him to a bar for drinks. "Jie, what's going on? Why are we in a place like this? "A Fei, I've broken up with Xia Ying... I'm single again—just all alone." I confided in A Fei while reaching for his beer again but he stopped me before I could drink it.
A Fei took it away from me and finished it off himself in one gulp. After drinking too quickly he coughed from choking on it and then patted my shoulder saying: "Bro, what happened? Is it because of that incident during summer vacation?" A Fei guessed quite accurately; I smiled bitterly and shook my head: "Actually that was just the beginning—the real reason is that I didn't know how to care for her or protect her. Instead of spending time with her, I went off playing in the Street Basketball Championship or impulsively learning Taekwondo without thinking about how much more attention she needed from me. I didn’t realize that when she acted spoiled it meant she wanted me to comfort her." "Waiter! Two more beers!" In an instant many things became clear to me.
"A Fei asked: 'Did you try to win her back?' I nodded slowly as he continued: 'Then get ready for the upcoming Winter Cangxing Tournament!' He grabbed another drink from the waiter’s tray and downed it before turning around and leaving the bar. To my surprise A Fei didn’t comfort me like he used to—had he changed too?
