He nodded calmly.
"Is that really true?" The old lady gasped in shock, disbelief written all over her aged face.
"Xiao Chen, you should listen to Guan Waipo. You need to learn to conceal your brilliance. Although Guan Waipo may not have much education, she knows the saying: 'A tree that stands out in the forest will be felled by the wind.' Sometimes, being too outstanding can attract trouble even if you remain hidden. How can you so easily take a life? Killing one person is creating a karma!" The old lady sighed heavily.
"Mom, don't worry about Xiao Chen's matters. I trust Jiang Chen; if he kills, it's because those people deserve it," Zhou Rongli said.
The Zhou family still didn't truly understand Jiang Chen. Zhou Rongli didn't know how to explain; those who were meant to believe would do so naturally, while those who didn't want to believe would ignore the facts even when presented before them.

Jiang Chen smiled and observed Zhou Pingyong's panicked demeanor. He couldn't help but chuckle: "Since you've investigated me, you should know what kind of people I've killed. Your worth is nothing compared to them. If I dared to kill them, why wouldn't I be able to kill you?"
Zhou Pingyong's words irritated Jiang Chen greatly; how dare they expect him and his family to submit first? Jiang Chen spoke the truth—if it weren't for not wanting his godmother to feel guilty and not wanting Guan Waipo to be sad, he would have seriously considered killing Zhou Pingyong.
