"Oh, Aunt, we went to Lijing Park together, and there were people having snowball fights and building snowmen." A Fei cooperatively replied. After hearing this, I secretly gave him a thumbs up; he really knew how to play along. "Weren't you supposed to go home and watch TV?" My mom really loved to dig for details. A Fei responded quickly, "Not yet. I just got home and was watching 'iPartment 4' when he called me to go to Lijing Park." "Then..." My mom still wanted to ask something, so I quickly pulled A Fei toward my room, saying, "Oh, Mom, are you annoying? We're going inside to talk." Once we got into my room and closed the door, I punched his chest lightly and said, "I didn't expect you to be quite clever." "Of course! But you have to come clean. What did you do this morning?" A Fei sat on the bed. Since he was my brother, I didn't hide anything from him and told him everything about meeting Situ Yanan at Lijing Park. 0

A Fei smiled calmly after listening, "I knew you must have something going on. So what are you thinking? Are you giving her a chance to get close?" "I don't know. At first, I made it very clear that I rejected her, but this silly girl insisted on getting a chance. I'm confused." I lay back on the bed and closed my eyes. A Fei turned back to me and said, "The competition is coming up soon; don't let this affect you." "Yeah, got it." The next morning after we arrived at school, we headed straight for the gym. Today we were playing an away game against Twenty-Four Middle School, followed by two consecutive home games against Xingtai's duo—back-to-back! But it was probably because they were considering our upcoming final exams. We boarded the bus to Twenty-Four Middle School; it had been a long time since I last visited there. Everything felt familiar upon arrival: the same teaching buildings, the same gymnasium, the same atmosphere—only… missing those two great players: Song Huajing and Lu Lei. 0

After entering the locker room, Teacher Qiu didn't say much; he just told us to play seriously. Once we stepped onto the court, we jumped right into dominating Twenty-Four Middle School's hoop. This game provided our bench players with enough practice opportunities. The three of us played about twenty minutes each throughout the game. Liu Xiao and Du's backcourt combination was quite impactful, but their long-range shooting needed improvement; their three-point shooting percentage was only three out of thirteen attempts in total—Liu Xiao made two out of eight attempts for a twenty-five percent success rate, while as a scoring point guard, Du only made one out of five attempts, which was rather mediocre. Nevertheless, we still managed to defeat Twenty-Four Middle School with a score of 99-9. Li Kanglin achieved a career-high of twenty-two points for the team, which was also the highest score of the game. Our trio scored 14 points, 1 point, and 16 points respectively and became supporting characters instead. Tu Lei grabbed 1 point with 5 rebounds and 4 assists; Lu Yinghao (10 points and 1 rebound) and Wei Weiwei (11 points and 10 rebounds) both achieved double-doubles—what a surprise! 0

On the bus back to school, our teammates started singing "Atlantis," while the three of us sat in a corner smiling at these happy kids. "Ah, young kids," I couldn't help but say. Ouyang punched my chest lightly: "Come on! How old are you? Acting all deep here." I smiled without replying; suddenly I felt quite old—maybe I've matured a lot. In the past, I would have joined them in celebrating right away, but now it felt childish; it seemed like I was just one year older than them—even some were my age—how could there be a generation gap? After returning to school and just entering the gate, we caught the end of class; classmates rushed over to ask about our situation. When they heard that we won, the whole school erupted in excitement. After gathering in the gymnasium and disbanding afterward, I saw Situ Yanan standing at the entrance waiting for me. When she saw me come out, she walked over with a smile and asked, "Brother Jie, were you tired from today's game?" The teammates immediately looked at me with surprise as my face turned red with embarrassment. 0

I quickly pulled her into a corner. "Hey, why are you blocking me at the gym entrance?" I asked her. She wasn't pleased: "What do you mean 'blocking'? Your choice of words is extremely inappropriate! It should be 'waiting,' okay? What? Did I embarrass you? Hmph!" She turned her face away. Knowing I was in the wrong since she came over kindly to greet me, I poked her shoulder gently: "Hey now, are you really angry? I just felt a bit awkward in front of so many people..." "Then why didn't you feel awkward when Xia Ying came looking for you before?!" Before I could finish my sentence, Situ Yanan interrupted me. I didn't know how to respond; stammering out an answer felt difficult: "That's different..." "How is it different? Am I Situ Yanan some kind of alternative?" Situ Yanan pressed hard for an answer; feeling impatient now, I said loudly: "Fine! What's with all these questions? She's my legitimate girlfriend whom I've pursued successfully; that's why I'm not embarrassed! Is that answer satisfactory?!" 0

Situ Yanan was taken aback by my response at first but then her angry expression softened as she slowly reached out her hands to take mine and shook them: "Okay okay! It's my fault; don't be angry anymore; I'm sorry." Seeing her humble demeanor made my heart ache because the proud Situ Yanan would never lower herself like this before anyone else. I raised my right hand to brush her hair back: "Yanan, is it tiring being with me?" "No! I'm happy; I love this feeling! Go ahead and bite me!" Situ Yanan interrupted me while pouting her lips defiantly which made it impossible for me to stay mad at her anymore. Just then the class bell rang. "Alright then; it's time to go back to class," I told her. She nodded with a smile and ran off while I couldn't help but smile back as I turned towards the teaching building when suddenly I noticed a pair of eyes glaring at me from behind a distant wall—no! It should be hostility—how terrifying... 0
