Lin Yu hummed a cheerful tune as she walked into the office with a light step, her mood as bright as the sun. It felt as though the gossip and rumors from yesterday's celebration banquet were nothing but fleeting clouds, easily cast aside. She even playfully teased herself while amusing her intelligent System, Inverse Light.
"Inverse Light, do you think these people are just bored? They have nothing better to do than to speculate wildly. Can you believe they’re saying I’m dating Jiang Chen? That’s quite the stretch, isn’t it? Our relationship is as clear as day, cleaner than tofu! How could they come up with so many ridiculous stories? I really admire their imagination!"
The voice of Inverse Light echoed in her mind, tinged with a hint of mockery. "Host, this just shows your irresistible charm! Everyone loves you; even an ice-cold god like Jiang Chen can be melted by your warmth—it's a miracle! If this were ancient times, you’d be like the stunning Xi Shi or Diao Chan, whose every smile could spark wars between nations!"
Lin Yu couldn’t help but roll her eyes and retorted, "Enough with the nonsense! Xi Shi and Diao Chan? I think you’ve read too many novels and are a bit delusional. Let’s focus on finding some new tasks to earn some Points; that’s what really matters. I don’t want to be some femme fatale; I just want to be a happy little rich woman!"
"Ding! A new task clue has been detected, Host. It seems your company isn’t very peaceful lately; someone appears to be stirring trouble behind the scenes, like an invisible hand manipulating the situation," Inverse Light's tone shifted to serious, resembling an experienced detective reporting on a case.
Lin Yu furrowed her brow, her smile fading. She asked with concern, "Stirring trouble? What kind of trouble? Is it malicious retaliation from competitors? Which company is so unscrupulous that they want to engage in unfair competition? Or is someone envious of our recent achievements and trying to sabotage us?"
"The specifics are still unclear; the situation is shrouded in mystery. Host needs to investigate further to uncover the truth and unveil this enigmatic veil," Inverse Light replied cautiously, aware that this matter was serious and required careful handling.
Lin Yu immediately opened her computer and began reviewing the company’s recent financial statements and project progress reports, hoping to find some clues. Like Sherlock Holmes, she meticulously examined every document without overlooking any numbers or symbols.
However, everything appeared normal—no anomalies at all—like a calm lake without even a ripple. This only deepened Lin Yu's confusion, as if some force was deliberately concealing the truth from her.
"Strange. Could it be my imagination? Why can’t I find anything? Inverse Light, can you help me look into this? You’re supposed to be an all-powerful super System; this should be a piece of cake for you!" Lin Yu felt helpless and turned to Inverse Light for assistance.
"No problem, Host! Leave it to me! This is just child’s play!" Inverse Light replied confidently, like a skilled hacker about to begin an impressive performance.
The System activated its information-gathering function and started searching for relevant information online, weaving through data like a spider spinning its web. It scoured various websites, business forums, and databases without missing any corner.
Soon enough, Inverse Light had new findings. Its voice returned with gravity: "Host, I found some negative news about your company’s recent projects that has spread rapidly online like a virus. It seems these messages were deliberately disseminated by someone; there’s a hidden hand controlling everything."
Lin Yu's expression darkened as her eyes sharpened. She asked in a low voice, "Deliberately spreading rumors? It seems someone really is stirring trouble. What could their motive be? Are they trying to bring down my company? Who is so sinister and cunning to come up with such self-destructive tactics?"
"Host, based on my analysis, the mastermind behind this may have connections to Jiang Chen; there seems to be some link between them," Inverse Light offered a shocking hypothesis that left Lin Yu stunned.

Lin Yu began secretly investigating the employees within the company, hoping to find some clues. Like a private detective, she observed everyone's words and actions closely. She noticed that recently, some employees had been acting suspiciously, often gathering in secretive huddles, whispering to each other about something unknown, as if they were planning a covert operation.

She saw these individuals engaged in a secret transaction with a mysterious man. He wore sunglasses and a hat, concealing his identity completely. However, Lin Yu felt that his silhouette was somewhat familiar, as if she had seen him somewhere before. Who was this mysterious man? What was his connection to these employees?
Suddenly, the mysterious man seemed to sense Lin Yu's presence; he abruptly turned his head and looked in her direction with piercing eyes that seemed sharp as an eagle's, capable of penetrating the darkness and seeing through all disguises.

"Understood, Host. Your points have been deducted. The invisibility cloak and listening device have been successfully exchanged; please check your inventory," Inverse Light's voice responded promptly, completing Lin Yu's request by delivering the items into her hands.
Lin Yu immediately donned the invisibility cloak and swiftly attached the listening device onto the unsuspecting employees with deftness and stealth akin to that of an experienced spy. She returned to the bar once more, ready to observe their every move with renewed confidence.
Through the listening device, Lin Yu clearly heard their conversations, each word resonating in her ears and shocking her profoundly. Their dialogue unveiled a shocking conspiracy.
"This mission has gone well; once it's completed, you will be rewarded handsomely—wealth and glory beyond measure," said the mysterious man in a deep, magnetic voice laced with temptation.
"Rest assured, boss; we will do our utmost to complete the task and ensure your satisfaction," one employee replied obsequiously, his tone dripping with greed and desire.
"The target this time is Lin Yu; you must be careful not to let her discover our plans—do not alert her in any way. She's not an ordinary woman; we must proceed cautiously and strike decisively," warned the mysterious man with a hint of trepidation in his voice.
Hearing this, Lin Yu's heart sank, as if a heavy stone pressed down on her chest, making it hard for her to breathe. It seemed that this time, the mastermind was truly targeting her; they actually wanted to deal with her! What had she done to attract such trouble?
She decided to continue investigating, to uncover the true identity and motives of the mastermind behind it all, and to solve this mystery. She needed to find out who was manipulating everything from the shadows, who wanted to put her in danger!
Just then, the door of the bar was suddenly pushed open, and a group of police officers rushed in, taking control of everyone inside. The scene instantly descended into chaos. The unexpected turn of events caught everyone off guard.
Lin Yu was startled; had someone called the police? Who had leaked the information? As she pondered this, a familiar figure suddenly appeared before her, like a flash of lightning cutting through the darkness.
"Jiang Chen?" Lin Yu looked at the person in disbelief; he was indeed that mysterious man! She never expected that her trusted partner would be the mastermind behind all of this!
Jiang Chen took off his sunglasses and hat, revealing his true face. That familiar visage now appeared so strange and terrifying. A cold smile played on his lips as he looked at Lin Yu and said, "Surprised, aren't you, Lin Yu? This was all my design. You must be shocked."
Lin Yu felt as if she had been doused with cold water, chilling her to the bone. She could not fathom that Jiang Chen was the mastermind; why would he do this? Were they not partners? Why would he betray her?
"Why? Jiang Chen, why did you betray me? Aren't we friends? Why would you do this to me?" Lin Yu's voice trembled, filled with disbelief and pain. She could not understand why this was happening.

"Use me? For what? What do I have that’s worth your while?" Lin Yu's voice quivered with a hint of tears as she felt her world crumbling around her. She couldn't comprehend what she had done wrong.
"To take your company, to seize everything you have! Your technology, your resources—those are what I desire. Now they will all belong to me!" A glint of greed flashed in Jiang Chen's eyes as he finally revealed his true self—a face twisted by desire.
