Su Mu had recently gained a remarkable reputation, drawing patients from all directions due to his exceptional medical skills.
On this particular day, a unique patient arrived at the clinic—a frail, elderly man who walked with a cane.
His face was waxy and yellow, his eyes clouded and devoid of light. Each step he took was shaky, as if he might fall at any moment, clearly burdened by a serious illness for quite some time.
“Sir, please have a seat. May I ask what seems to be the problem?” Su Mu quickly rose to greet him, speaking in a gentle and kind tone.
The old man struggled to move his feet and slowly sat down in the chair. Trembling, he extended a hand that resembled a withered branch and said in a hoarse, deep voice, “Young man… I’ve seen many doctors for my illness, but nothing seems to help! I heard people say your medical skills are extraordinary, so I came here with my last hope.”
Su Mu nodded slightly and gently placed his hand on the old man's pulse, beginning to observe carefully.

The old man slowly extended the pendant towards Su Mu with hopeful eyes and said, “I hope you can accept this jade pendant.
If you can miraculously cure my ailment, then consider this pendant as your payment; but if… unfortunately you cannot heal me, I kindly ask you to take good care of it for me.”
Su Mu quickly extended both hands and solemnly accepted the jade pendant.
