Su Mu and the man in black trudged through the howling wind and heavy snow, making their way toward the direction indicated by the Ghost. Ahead of them loomed a magnificent snow-capped mountain, piercing the clouds.
As they ventured deeper into this snowy realm, the blizzard intensified. Flakes of snow fell like goose feathers, enveloping the world in a white veil that drastically reduced visibility; even the figure beside Su Mu became a blur.
The two struggled through the thick snow, each step requiring immense effort as their feet sank deeply into the powder, as if held back by an invisible force, making their progress exceedingly laborious.
"Is this... is this snow mountain really so high? Can we truly make it to the top?" Su Mu gasped, his face etched with worry as he turned to the man in black.
He was already drenched in sweat, but the biting cold wind froze the moisture instantly against his skin, sending chills deep into his bones.
The man in black paused for a moment, took a deep breath, and replied resolutely, "No matter what, we must climb up! Perhaps the Ghost brought us here to help us find something crucial."
With that, he adjusted his heavy pack and resumed his ascent toward the summit.
The frigid wind whipped against their faces like sharp blades, cutting into their skin. The bone-chilling cold surged over them in relentless waves, numbing their hands and feet until their bodies felt nearly unresponsive.
Yet, despite such harsh conditions, they gritted their teeth and pressed on without hesitation.
The snow was astonishingly deep; one misstep could send them plunging into its depths.
Several times, Su Mu lost his footing and felt himself plummeting downward, on the verge of sliding down the steep slope.
Fortunately, the man in black was quick to react, reaching out just in time to grab him tightly and prevent what could have been a disastrous fall.
Thus, they supported each other, slowly yet steadily climbing higher. Throughout this long and arduous journey, the eerie song that had once echoed in their ears faded away, and no strange sights appeared around them.
It felt as if only they existed in this world amidst the overwhelming wind and snow. The surroundings were eerily silent except for the howling wind that added an air of solemnity to this mysterious mountain.
Time passed without them noticing. After enduring countless hardships, they finally reached the towering and enigmatic Snowy Mountain Summit.
As they stood atop the mountain, gazing into the distance, their eyes were met with a breathtaking panorama of rolling hills. The peaks seemed to be draped in a pristine white cloak, shimmering like silver, an awe-inspiring sight that left them speechless.
However, despite the stunning scenery before them, they found nothing special or noteworthy in this place.
"Ugh, there's nothing here at all," Su Mu muttered, disappointment etched on his face despite having arrived with high hopes.
The man in black remained silent, quietly surveying the surroundings. Suddenly, as if sensing something, he strode purposefully towards a massive rock covered in thick layers of ice and snow.
He extended his right hand and gently brushed away the snow blanketing the rock's surface. As the snow slid off, peculiar carvings began to emerge from beneath.
"Come look!" the man in black exclaimed excitedly, pointing at the carvings.
Hearing the call, Su Mu hurried over to investigate. Once he got a closer look, he realized that these carvings appeared ancient, resembling some form of archaic script. Strangely enough, he couldn't recognize a single character.
With a puzzled expression, he turned to the man in black and asked, "What kind of writing is this? I've never seen anything like it."
In response to Su Mu's question, the man in black furrowed his brow. He leaned closer to examine the rock carefully for a while before shaking his head helplessly. "To be honest, I don't recognize these characters either. Perhaps they truly belong to some mysterious script from a distant past."
At that moment, without warning, a biting cold wind suddenly swept through, swirling snowflakes wildly in the air.
This chilling gust felt like sharp knives mercilessly cutting across their exposed skin, bringing waves of pain.
In an instant, the temperature plummeted dramatically, as if they had plunged into a Cold Abyss.
Both Su Mu and the man in black shivered involuntarily from the unexpected chill.
Su Mu wrapped his arms tightly around himself in an attempt to fend off the sudden cold and asked with confusion, "What's happening? Why did it suddenly get so cold?" Just as his words fell silent and before anyone could respond, a White Figure appeared before them like a ghost.
The figure before them moved with a graceful elegance, as if she could dance with the wind. Her beauty was breathtaking, with exquisite features perfectly balanced; every line seemed meticulously sculpted.
Long, silvery hair flowed freely in the breeze, cascading down like a waterfall.
Her snow-white gown was particularly striking, pristine and flawless, as if crafted from the purest ice and snow, complementing the chilling aura that surrounded her.
“Snow Woman!” exclaimed the man in black, unable to contain his surprise upon recognizing her.
Hearing the call, the Snow Woman slowly opened her tightly shut eyes. They sparkled like ice and snow, crystal clear yet emanating a bone-chilling light that sent shivers down one’s spine.
She slightly parted her luscious lips and questioned in a voice as cold as ice, devoid of any emotion, “Who are you? Why have you trespassed into my snowy domain?”
Su Mu exchanged a glance with the man in black; both could see deep shock and an unmistakable hint of fear reflected in each other’s eyes.
The Snow Woman! She was the legendary Ice Snow Spirit, a being that had only existed in tales passed down through generations. To see her alive before them was beyond their wildest dreams!
Gathering his composure despite the overwhelming presence of the Snow Woman, Su Mu took a deep breath and cautiously replied, “We... we did not mean to intrude. We got lost and accidentally ended up here. Please, show us mercy and let us go.”
The Snow Woman's icy gaze swept over them, as if she could see through to their very souls. “Accidentally? I suspect you have ulterior motives.”
Su Mu's heart sank; he realized that their true intentions could not be hidden from the Snow Woman.
