The two of them cautiously made their way through the Ice Valley, each step taken with the utmost care. As they ventured deeper, the cracks in the ice became increasingly dense, their widths and depths growing ever larger.
Some of these fissures resembled gaping abysses, dark and unfathomable, exuding a chilling aura that sent shivers down their spines and filled them with dread.
Faced with such treacherous terrain, they dared not let their guard down. They slowed their pace, fully concentrating on their surroundings in search of a relatively safe place to step.
"This Ice Spirit Valley is far more perilous than I had anticipated," Su Mu said, his voice trembling slightly from the biting cold as he rubbed his arms to fend off the chill.
The man in black beside him nodded solemnly in agreement. "Indeed, we must be doubly cautious from here on."
After trudging along for quite some time, a most extraordinary sight suddenly appeared before them. Deep within the Ice Valley stood a breathtaking Ice Crystal Forest.
Each so-called "tree" was constructed from massive ice crystals, shimmering in the sunlight with vibrant colors that created a dazzling spectacle. The interplay of light rendered a scene so enchanting it felt like stepping into a fairyland.
"Wow, it's absolutely beautiful!" Su Mu exclaimed, unable to contain his genuine admiration.
Even the usually composed man in black found it hard to suppress his astonishment. He stared wide-eyed at the stunning landscape before him, momentarily entranced by its beauty.
"The Eternal Ice Lotus should be nearby," he murmured softly, scanning the vast expanse of the snow-covered Ice Crystal Forest with keen eyes sharp as an eagle's.
At that moment, an extremely faint and barely perceptible sound reached their ears.
It was as if some mysterious creature was breathing—intermittent and elusive. Instantly alert, they quickly glanced around; however, all they could see were the crystalline trees of the Ice Crystal Forest and the swirling snowflakes above.
"Who is there?" The man in black furrowed his brow, his expression stern as he raised his voice sharply.
However, as soon as his words fell, the sound abruptly ceased, and the entire Ice Crystal Forest returned to its previous deathly silence, with only the biting cold wind whipping through the air, carrying heavy snowflakes that danced wildly.
"Perhaps... it was just our imagination," Su Mu said after a moment of hesitation. Yet, for some reason, a vague sense of unease began to rise within him.
Despite this, he forced himself to remain calm and cautiously stepped forward alongside the man in black, slowly making their way deeper into the Ice Crystal Forest.
The Ice Crystal Forest shimmered like ethereal spirits, emanating a soft and enchanting glow that cast a dreamlike illumination over their surroundings.
Yet this beautiful sight did not bring them any comfort; instead, it heightened their feelings of anxiety.
Just as they were fully focused on the path ahead, that strange breathing sound suddenly echoed once more without warning!
This time, however, the sound was much clearer than before, as if some unknown presence was drawing closer with each passing moment.
"It must be nearby!" the man in black said urgently in a low voice, gripping his gleaming sword tightly. His body tensed like a bowstring, ready to confront any danger that might arise unexpectedly.
Suddenly, an enormous figure burst forth like lightning from behind one of the translucent trees of the Ice Crystal Forest, which radiated a chilling aura!
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a massive creature entirely covered in white fur. Its size was beyond imagination, towering before them like a small hill.
This beast resembled a fierce tiger but was different in one striking aspect: it had a pair of enormous wings growing from its back. As they fluttered gently, they stirred up gusts of wind that howled past them.
What was particularly captivating were its eyes, which resembled deep lakes shimmering with an eerie blue light. Cold and sharp, just one glance sent a shiver up their spines, causing them to tremble uncontrollably.
“Oh my God! What kind of monster is this?” Su Mu exclaimed, unable to contain his shock as he gazed at the terrifying creature before him.
The man in black standing beside him wore an extremely serious expression. He fixed his gaze on the giant beast and, after a moment of silence, slowly spoke, “If I’m not mistaken, this must be the legendary guardian beast of the Eternal Ice Lotus—the Ice Crystal Tiger.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the Ice Crystal Tiger opened its massive jaws and let out a deep roar.
The roar echoed like thunder, deafening to the ears. Even the surrounding Ice Crystal Forest trembled in response, with ice crystals falling from the branches as if a sparkling snowstorm had begun.
Accompanied by its roar, the Ice Crystal Tiger started to move its powerful limbs, slowly and steadily advancing towards Su Mu and the man in black.
With each step it took, the ground trembled slightly, emanating an overwhelming pressure that was suffocating.
Under this pressure, Su Mu and the man in black felt like a small boat in a storm, at any moment ready to be capsized and sunk.
“Everyone must be cautious and not let their guard down! The strength of this Ice Crystal Tiger is definitely formidable,” the man in black warned seriously.
Su Mu nodded vigorously, understanding the gravity of their situation.
He knew very well that they were facing an unprecedented challenge today.
However, in order to obtain the invaluable Eternal Ice Lotus and the hidden Heavenly Secrets Medical Manual within it, they could not retreat even a single step. They had to muster their courage to engage in a desperate battle with this powerful guardian beast and ultimately defeat it.
