"Brother, you were in danger just now! I was afraid you wouldn't dodge in time; that would have been perilous," the young woman replied.
"Haha, your hunting experience is lacking; you shouldn't try to learn my moves," the young man laughed and then urged, "Let's not waste any more time. We should go."
The two of them were not here to hunt beasts; they only needed to trap the ivory tiger and had no intention of going through the trouble of killing it.
As Jiang Chen saw them about to leave, he had to make some noise.
"Please wait a moment!"
The sudden voice echoed in the somewhat oppressive environment, startling both the young people and the ivory tiger. The tiger, which had been struggling fiercely, froze for a moment, glancing up with a sideways look.
The two young people changed their expressions and, realizing what was happening, took off running without hesitation.
"Why are you running? I just have a question for you!" Jiang Chen exclaimed in exasperation as he jumped down to block their path.
Only then did the duo get a good look at Jiang Chen. They recognized almost everyone here but found him unfamiliar.
"Who are you?" the young man asked.
"I'm not from around here. I just happened to come in today and wanted to learn about this place from you," Jiang Chen replied with a slight smile, trying to appear friendly.
Upon hearing Jiang Chen's introduction, the pair was clearly astonished and incredulous. It was their first time hearing about someone entering this place voluntarily. While outsiders had come before, they were either captured or brought back by elders; no one had ever entered on their own accord.
After their shock came excitement. From their earlier conversation, it was clear that they longed for the outside world. Seeing someone from beyond their confines naturally thrilled them.
Yet amidst their excitement lingered some concern; outsiders who recklessly intruded here often met unfortunate ends.
"Are you really from outside?" the young man asked again for confirmation.
"Absolutely. There’s an underwater passage leading in from that direction," Jiang Chen said, pointing westward.
"But isn't there a Raksasa Merfolk guarding that underwater entrance? Did it not notice you?" the young man questioned skeptically.
"It did notice me, but it wasn't my match," Jiang Chen replied with a faint smile.
"What? You're that strong?" The pair looked at him in awe. In their eyes, Raksasa Merfolk were formidable opponents; anyone who could defeat one would surely be impressive.
Jiang Chen nodded in acknowledgment; he was indeed quite powerful. Not only on Earth but across the universe, he could be considered among the top experts.
"Then prove it! Seeing is believing. You're about my age and come from outside; the elders say outsiders are weak. I'm a bit skeptical that you could defeat a Raksasa Merfolk," the young man challenged. His sister nodded in agreement, her eyes reflecting doubt about Jiang Chen's abilities.
"The people outside may indeed be physically weaker than you, but their abilities should not be underestimated," Jiang Chen said with a light laugh. His gaze then shifted past the two of them to the ivory tiger that was stuck in the middle of the large tree.
