I sighed, "When you asked me to leave Ma Tao, I did take your money."

"Yes," I nodded.

Madam Ma snorted again, "Fine! Then both of you get out of here right now!"
I pulled Ma Tao to stand up and leave.
But just as we reached the door, we were called back.
Madam Ma wanted us to stay behind while she spoke with Ma Tao alone.
I had no choice but to step out first.
Half an hour later, Ma Tao finally came down to pick me up.
His expression was not good.
After getting into the car, I asked him, "What's wrong?"
He gave a bitter smile and said, "My mom agreed for us to be together."
"Really?" I asked happily. "She didn't make it difficult for you, did she?"
"No," he shook his head.
I sighed in relief. "That's good."
Ma Tao let out a sigh. "But there’s one condition."
"What condition?" I asked.
He said, "My mom said I have to give up Ma Group and all my assets."
"Ah?" I was shocked. "Why?"
Ma Tao gave a bitter laugh. "Because she wants me to be self-reliant."
This was indeed a problem.

If he suddenly had nothing,

He patted my shoulder and said, "I'm fine."

I replied, "Until you start over."

He said, "The reason you broke up with me back then was because you felt inferior, right?"
"You thought your family collected scrap, and that we were from different worlds."
"So you never dared to face your feelings."
