Tang Lei walked ahead and went upstairs first. You Jiao was pulled to the kitchen door by Tong Yan, who whispered to her, asking why she was moving. Naturally, You Jiao didn’t dare to say anything. Tong Yan, not giving up, tried to be clever and asked her several reasons, but You Jiao shook her head each time. Finally, recalling Gao Bo's earlier demeanor when talking about women, she asked You Jiao, “Is it that our Gao Bo is being inappropriate with you?”
You Jiao simply replied, “Sister Tong Yan, don’t think too much. I need to go upstairs.” After saying that, she ran up the stairs. Tong Yan turned to look at her husband; the two men who were drinking were discussing You Jiao’s back. Tong Yan became more convinced of her suspicions and angrily walked over to the sink, washing a few bowls and plates with a clatter.
To prepare for the move, You Jiao had changed into a short shirt and shorts in the afternoon, radiating youthful energy. Gao Bo’s companion, having never seen You Jiao before, asked who she was. Gao Bo replied that she lived upstairs but was about to move away.
“Tsk tsk, she looks so tempting…” the man lewdly remarked.
“Of course she does,” Gao Bo recalled yesterday’s scene. “She’s quite alluring… Hehe…”
“Bro, could it be that you… hmm?” The man looked at Gao Bo.
Gao Bo remained silent but nodded in agreement. The man became very excited and kept asking questions while Gao Bo made up answers, imagining what it would be like to actually be with You Jiao.
After indulging in their fantasies for a while, Tang Lei came downstairs, prompting them to stop talking and continue drinking. Tang Lei mounted his motorcycle and revved the engine before leaving; the sound of the exhaust gradually faded away. Gao Bo’s companion said, “Her boyfriend is gone.”
Gao Bo didn’t respond. The man continued, “Bro, why don’t you take this chance tonight to have some fun with that girl?”
This struck a chord with Gao Bo; tonight was indeed the last opportunity. Tomorrow, You Jiao might have already moved away for good. Seeing Gao Bo’s expression change, the man realized he indeed had such plans and added, “Bro, let me join in on the fun too!”
“You… you bastard…” Gao Bo glared at him with a smile. “Fine, later we’ll… do this and that…”
The two men whispered their plans together; however, they were oblivious to how loud they had become after drinking. Their conversation was inevitably overheard by Tong Yan, who was taken aback. She hadn’t expected her husband to be scheming against You Jiao. From what she heard, it seemed they were about to take action soon. Anger and urgency surged within her; steam seemed ready to burst from her head as she clenched her fists and felt an urge to rush outside.
Gao Bo and his companion were pleased with their plan; their dim-witted minds thought they had an easy catch this time and would definitely enjoy some tender tofu tonight. However, Gao Bo still had some concerns about how to proceed without arousing Tong Yan’s suspicion.
“ brother Bo, Sister Tong Yan is busy right now; we can sneak up there without her knowing…” the man suggested.
Gao Bo glanced back and saw Tong Yan’s figure flash past the kitchen entrance; it seemed she was indeed occupied with chores. It was clearly a good time to sneak upstairs. The two exchanged knowing glances and stood up unsteadily before heading toward the staircase. Not seeing Tong Yan around, they rushed up the stairs toward the second floor.
Just as they reached the second floor, suddenly there was a loud "pop," and all the lights went out simultaneously. Outside, the sun had already set; only faint shadows filtered in from somewhere in the alley.
“Damn it,” Gao Bo cursed. “Power outage at this time…”
“A power outage is even better, bro,” the man said.
