The car stopped in front of a towering modern building, and Lin Yuan and his companions walked into the headquarters of the Qi Gong Association. Lin Yuan looked up at the top of the skyscraper, a frown creasing his brow as an unsettling feeling washed over him.
"We've arrived, Mr. Lin. We will provide you with the most professional treatment," Oozawa Naoki said with a professional smile, gesturing for Lin Yuan to follow.
"Be careful, Old Lin," Zhou Haoran whispered in his ear.
Lin Yuan forced a smile and followed Lu Min and Dazai Naoki into the elevator. As the elevator ascended to the 76th floor, a sudden wave of dizziness hit him, and he instinctively leaned against the wall for support.
"Mr. Lin, are you alright?" Lu Min asked with concern, her bright eyes shimmering with an unusual light.
"I... I'm fine," Lin Yuan replied, struggling to stand upright as cold sweat broke out on his forehead. He could feel the power he had just consumed stirring within him, as if it were about to tear his body apart.
The elevator doors opened, revealing a spacious laboratory filled with high-tech equipment. Screens on the walls flickered with complex data and graphs.
"Please lie down here," Dazai Naoki instructed, pointing to a device resembling a surgical table in the center of the room. "We need to check your physical condition."
Lin Yuan glanced at Zhou Haoran, who nodded slightly in encouragement for him to comply. He lay down and immediately felt a cool sensation spreading from his back.
"Relax, Mr. Lin," Lu Min's voice came softly as her fingers gently pressed against his pulse. "I need to check your Meridian flow."
Lin Yuan felt a warm energy flowing from Lu Min's fingertips into his body, traveling along his Meridians. The sensation was comfortable and wondrous, momentarily distracting him from his pain.
"Interesting..." Lu Min's brow furrowed slightly. "Your Meridian system seems to be undergoing some kind of change, and..."
"What is it?" Lin Yuan asked.
Lu Min did not respond immediately; instead, she moved toward the control panel and entered some commands. The devices around Lin Yuan suddenly lit up with blue light, and he felt a slight vibration.
"Don't worry; it's just a routine scan," Dazai Naoki explained, though his gaze had sharpened noticeably.
"No, it’s about merging, not fighting..." Lin Yuan shouted in his mind, striving to control the three forces within him.
Gradually, the conflict among the three forces began to diminish. They first separated and then remerged in a new way, forming an unprecedented energy pattern.
Lin Yuan felt his consciousness returning. He opened his eyes to a blurry world, where he could only make out Zhou Haoran's worried face and the surprised expressions of Lu Min and Dazai Naoki.
"Old Lin, are you okay?" Zhou Haoran asked, his voice laced with evident concern.
Lin Yuan nodded with difficulty, attempting to sit up. To his surprise, the intense pain he had felt earlier had completely vanished, replaced by an unprecedented sense of power. He felt light and strong, every cell in his body brimming with vitality.
"I'm... fine." Lin Yuan's voice was somewhat hoarse but filled with strength. "I even feel better than before."
"Impossible!" Dazai Naoki exclaimed as he stared at the monitor screen. "His life index has increased by 30% compared to before; theoretically, that shouldn't be possible!"
Lu Min's eyes sparkled with an unusual light. "Mr. Lin, how did you manage this?"
Lin Yuan did not respond; instead, he looked down at his palms, feeling the new energy flowing within him. Previously, he could only absorb one ability at a time, but now he had successfully merged three abilities simultaneously.
"Have you completed your examination?" Lin Yuan asked, his voice steadier than before.
Lu Min and Dazai Naoki exchanged glances, seemingly communicating silently. Finally, Lu Min nodded. "The examination is complete, Mr. Lin. Your physical condition... is beyond our expectations."
Lin Yuan jumped off the examination table and stretched his limbs, feeling an unprecedented sense of ease. "So, can we leave now?"
"Of course, but..." Dazai Naoki hesitated. "We hope you will consider joining the Qi Gong Association. With your potential, your future achievements could be limitless."
Lin Yuan smiled lightly. "Thank you for the invitation, but I need to rest for now. Let me think about this decision for a few days."
After leaving the Qi Gong Association building, Lin Yuan and Zhou Haoran headed straight to the latter's clinic. Throughout the journey, Lin Yuan remained silent, seemingly processing the changes within him.
Lin Yuan smiled confidently, "It means that even if the Obsidian Empire comes again, I won’t have to be afraid."
That night, Lin Yuan returned to his apartment and lay on his bed, reflecting on everything that had happened that day. From being attacked by the Obsidian Empire, to absorbing their abilities, and then successfully merging with the Qi Gong Association... it all seemed destined.
He raised his hand and looked at his palm, feeling the powerful energy flowing within him. This sensation was both strange and familiar, as if he was meant to possess this power all along.
"Scientific Explosion..." Lin Yuan murmured, "That name sounds pretty cool."
Just as Lin Yuan was about to close his eyes and rest, his phone suddenly rang. It was an unfamiliar number.
"Hello?" Lin Yuan answered the call.
"Mr. Lin," a cold voice came from the other end, "it's truly... unfortunate that the people from the Obsidian Empire couldn't take you away."
Lin Yuan's body tensed instantly. "Who are you?"
"Who is not important," the voice continued, "what matters is that your cell absorption ability has piqued our interest. Next time, we will send someone stronger to... take you."
Before Lin Yuan could respond, the call was abruptly disconnected. He clenched his fists, feeling the power within him growing stronger.
"Bring it on," a glint of cold light flashed in Lin Yuan's eyes, "this time, I won't just passively take hits."
