The hospital room was crowded with relatives and friends visiting Zhao Yi Ye. The table was piled high with fragrant flowers and fresh fruits. Yi Ye lay half-reclined on the bed, silently observing everyone. 0

"Why don't you greet everyone, Yi Ye?" her mother asked with a smile, gently stroking her daughter's head. 0

Yi Ye looked at her mother with indifference, still not saying a word. 0

"Yi Ye doesn't look too well; I think it will take some time for her to fully recover." "That's right, this poor child must be terrified." 0

"Such an accident is truly frightening." 0

"Let's play some music; Yi Ye loves music." 0

People chattered away, discussing among themselves. Yi Ye's mother tried hard to maintain a light atmosphere, as if hoping to dilute the sorrow of losing another daughter. 0

A melodious tune filled the room. Just then, the door swung open, and He Jiayue walked in. "He Jiayue..." Zhao Yi Ye whispered the name that pained her heart. 0

"He Jiayue is here." Someone made way for him. 0

"Why aren’t you lying down more? You're still very weak," Yi Ye's mother said with concern. 0

"I'm fine; I just came to see Yi Ye." He Jiayue approached Yi Ye's bedside and quickly exchanged a glance with her. 0

"This silly girl has been gloomy all day; my sisters and I have been trying to cheer her up," Yi Ye's mother said, looking at her youngest daughter with worry. "By the way, He Jiayue, when Yi Ye was younger, she always listened to you. Please help me talk to her." 0

"I will," He Jiayue took the opportunity to hold Yi Ye's hand gently. 0

After a while, Yang Wenyan also entered, holding a large bouquet of bright red roses. 0

"Has Yi Ye felt any better today?" Yang Wenyan walked to the bedside and took Zhao Yi Ye's hand. 0

Yi Ye shook her head, lowering it as she pulled away from Wenyan's grasp. 0

"Yi Ye, Wenyan is talking to you; why are you treating her like this?" Yi Ye simply kept her head down in silence. 0

After the people in the hospital room gradually left, Zhao Yi Ye opened her palm to reveal a small piece of paper, which He Jia Yue had quietly slipped into her hand during their handshake. 0

"Yizhi, I understand how you feel right now. I am just as conflicted and pained as you are. Although I know that no one would believe in the idea of a soul possessing another's body, I believe you are my fiancée, my beloved Yizhi. After much thought, I think it would be best not to tell anyone about your soul residing in Yi Ye's body. Let it be our secret, shall we? — He Jia Yue." 0

A permanent secret? 0

Zhao Yi Ye pressed the note against her heart, memories of the beautiful moments spent with He Jia Yue flooding her mind. 0

On the other side of the room, He Jia Yue flipped through an album filled with photos from childhood to adulthood, many of which included Yizhi. 0

Yizhi, my dear wife, what should I do about you? 0

In that moment when he held Yizhi's hand in the hospital, he could feel her strong emotions for him. He quietly slipped a prepared note into her palm and gently traced a circle with his pinky finger, just like before. Yizhi responded by pressing his pinky three times with her thumb—a secret signal. 0

Yet the awkwardness of being unable to recognize his beloved troubled He Jia Yue deeply. He reminisced about all the moments spent with Yizhi over the years and found it hard to imagine how he would live without her. Yizhi had completely integrated into his life. But how could he navigate this chaotic situation? Zhao Yi Ye, that lively little girl whom he had always treated like a younger sister—how could he act intimately with her as he did with Yizhi? It felt wrong. 0

Perhaps it was better this way! Maintaining this facade of calm meant that only the two of them would bear the impact. 0

Time passed; even the saddest days would eventually fade. The shadow cast by the accident gradually diminished in everyone's hearts, and life began to return to normal. The dead would turn to dust while the living carried on with hope in this world. 0

Yizhi's soul resided within her sister's body; her thoughts belonged to her sister while her appearance was that of a younger sibling. She had long outgrown youthful naivety but had to pretend to be an innocent and reckless girl. Everyone called her Miss Psychologist Zhao Yi Ye. This profession, which required deep contemplation, was indeed fulfilled by the quiet Yizhi. Perhaps this was fate. 0

Yang Wenyan's career was picking up; he became a department head and grew busier, spending less time with his girlfriend. 0

After the accident, Wen Yan carefully accompanied Zhao Yi Ye. He dared not mention anything that might trigger painful memories for her. He noticed that Yi Ye had become more taciturn; the outspoken girl he once knew seemed to have vanished. Days spent together felt much heavier now. 0

After work, Wen Yan received a call from his girlfriend. 0

"Come to Xikou Park," she said before hanging up. 0

Xikou Park was a playground from the Zhao Sisters' childhood that Wen Yan often heard his girlfriend mention. Why meet there? A sense of foreboding washed over him. 0

Zhao Yi Ye's frail figure appeared in his line of sight. She had lost so much weight over these past few years. Wen Yan felt a lump in his throat, nearly brought to tears. 0

"You're here?" Yi Ye asked as he saw Yang Wenyan hesitating in her steps. 0

What a cold tone! Hearing this reminded him of when they first met, when Yi Ye would eagerly leap into his arms every time they saw each other, playfully hitting his chest in complaint. Back then, he felt an overwhelming sweetness. But now, Yi Ye's expression and tone were like that of a completely different person, as if she wanted to keep everyone at a distance. 0

"Wen Yan, let's break up." 0

The bad premonition was finally confirmed. 0

Yang Wenyan's body involuntarily trembled. Why did it have to end like this? 0

"I will wait for you, until you change your mind." Wen Yan struggled to control her emotions, but her voice trembled uncontrollably. 0

"Don't be foolish. I want you to be happy, Wen Yan!" 0

"Without you, what happiness can I have?" 0

"Wen Yan, do you understand that I am no longer the Zhao Yi Ye you loved?" 0

"I don't care. I will keep waiting." After saying this, Yang Wenyan resolutely turned around and walked away in the direction she had come from. 0

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" The girl with tears streaming down her face kept silently repeating those three words in her heart. 0
