Gu Cheng looked at Yan Xiaoque in front of him, his emotions complex. She spoke softly, exuding remarkable intelligence, a stark contrast to the chattering girl he had first encountered. A mysterious girl, he thought to himself, feeling a fleeting sense of familiarity with her name. 0

But she interrupted his thoughts, smiling encouragingly at him. "Please continue, Senior." 0

He took a deep breath. "That day when I got home and didn’t find Jiang Yufei, I searched everywhere. I found her phone left on the sofa; in the sent messages, there was a text sent at 5:03 PM to Lu Kai. It seemed to be a reply that read: 'Alright, see you at six.' As soon as I saw that message, I understood. A few days earlier, Jiang Yufei had mentioned that Lu Kai wanted to talk to her about ending things, but she hadn’t said much about it. I assumed she went to meet him, so I didn’t think much of it. Plus, I had drunk quite a bit at dinner that night and ended up falling asleep on the sofa. It wasn’t until the next afternoon when I woke up and went to change clothes that I found the suicide note under my pillow. I called Lu Kai, but neither his mobile nor home phone was answered. I panicked and just wanted to find her as quickly as possible." 0

"So you forgot to report it to the police and spent two days looking for her instead?" Park Chi frowned, noting that Gu Cheng had not provided any alibi for either August 18th when he found the note or August 19th when Jiang Yufei's body was discovered. His own statement regarding this period was merely scribbled: "Looking for someone." He recalled the suspect who had turned himself in but only raised more questions, feeling an inexplicable irritation. 0

"Yes, I searched everywhere for her. I went to many places, sleeping in my car when I got tired, waking up and continuing my aimless search, constantly calling home hoping Jiang Yufei would suddenly return and pick up." At this point, Gu Cheng quietly took out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it, falling silent. The smoke curled around him as the unique wedding ring on his right hand glimmered with intricate designs. 0

Seeing this situation unfold, Park Chi realized there would be no further progress tonight. He glanced at Yan Xiaoque, only to find her deep in thought with her head tilted slightly. Sensing his gaze, she pursed her lips in a gesture that indicated they could leave now. The officer gathered his documents and said, "It's nine o'clock; we should take our leave. Mr. Gu, don’t be too upset; your health is important—get some rest. If you remember anything new about the case, no matter how small or what time it is, please contact me immediately." He emphasized his words further: "Please trust the police; we will not let your wife’s death go unpunished." 0

Gu Cheng's expression showed little expectation as he saw them off; he seemed accustomed to such official reassurances. 0

However, just as Yan Xiaoque was about to step out the door, she paused and asked, "Senior, what’s the name of that violin piece played by your doorbell? I think it’s very special and beautiful." 0

He was taken aback for a moment before forcing a smile. "It is indeed special; it was recorded at Savile Square when I proposed to Jiang Yufei there. A street musician was inspired by our moment and improvised this piece for us; he named it 'Lovely You.' After we got married, we continued to call each other by that name." 0

As the door slowly closed behind them, thoughts of love and happiness that once filled that space faded into silence. Outside the door, both of them closed their eyes simultaneously; their steps felt heavy as if they dared not look back. 0

Inside, Gu Cheng gently leaned against the wall and sat down, his figure resembling an old tree stripped bare of its leaves. 0

"Lovely You." Jiang Yufei had gone forever with 'Lovely You.' 0

It was quite a challenge for Park Chi to arrange for Yan Xiaoque to meet the already detained Lu Kai. Although she was a familiar face at the police station, known even by the cleaning staff, her current status was still just that of an "ordinary citizen." 0

Fortunately, everything was settled. Park Chi looked over with satisfaction at Yan Xiaoque, who was wearing an obviously oversized short-sleeved uniform. Her bare calves trembled in the air-conditioned interrogation room, and the borrowed leather shoes from the night shift officer were causing her considerable discomfort as they scraped against the floor repeatedly due to their few centimeters of heel. At that moment, she was focused on reviewing the case files and autopsy report under the brim of her hat, diligently playing the role of a recorder. Of course, the suspect sitting across from her had yet to utter a single word that required her to write anything down. 0
