Song Nian glanced at Zhang Qing, a gentle smile spreading across her face, revealing an expression of heartfelt admiration.
Zhang Qing, however, stared blankly at the ground, lost in thought.
"Who exactly is that living corpse?" Zou Xingjing gritted his teeth. "Damn it, one day I will bring him to justice!"
At that moment, a small boy approached Zhang Qing and handed him a little note. "Big brother, an old man over there asked me to give this to you."
Zhang Qing, Zou Xingjing, and Song Nian looked up to see an elderly man standing not far away, gazing at them with a kind smile.
Yet Zhang Qing sensed something sinister hidden within the old man's smile!
Cautiously, Zhang Qing unfolded the note and read:
"Five individuals intricately connected to one another each killed someone unrelated to them, only to be killed by another person who had no ties to them. This formed a magical circle—a perfect work of art.
However, this masterpiece could not be completed because of you—Zhang Qing. Your presence has disrupted it! Do you have any idea how much effort I put into this magical circle? I treated it like my own child, and you are the one who killed my child. You are indeed a murderer!
But I will not hold this against you because I have never encountered anyone capable of ruining my plans. To me, you are a rare and respected opponent. Zhang Qing, I formally challenge you now; I will restore my reputation by executing a flawless crime before you.
I look forward to our next encounter!"
Zhang Qing quickly read the contents of the note and looked up, only to find that the old man had vanished without a trace.
"Zou Xingjing, although this living corpse hasn’t killed anyone with his own hands, he is still guilty of heinous crimes and must face legal consequences. Don't worry, he won't escape. I will definitely catch him because—" Zhang Qing glanced at Zou Xingjing and Song Nian, let out a small sigh, and said earnestly, "Evil cannot triumph over righteousness."
