If time could be rewound, Dawson Caymanwei would certainly not have returned, for when he arrived, all he saw was devastation, along with the unscathed Jiang Chen and Qin Xiaoya.
"Dawson, we gave you three days to clear your head, not to devise ways to deal with us. In these three days, you've sought the military, looked for a substitute, and set up ambushes. Now, what other tricks do you have left?" Qin Xiaoya said with a smile that was not quite a smile.
Dawson Caymanwei was already paralyzed with fear, but now it was too late to run. He found it hard to accept that these two, who had been at the center of the explosion, were completely unharmed.
"You... you are ghosts! It's impossible! I clearly saw you walk into the villa just now; you must be ghosts!" Dawson Caymanwei shouted like a madman.
It felt as if someone who had clearly died suddenly appeared before you; any normal person would be startled. For the Kaimanwei Family, Jiang Chen's survival meant their doom, and their reaction was even more intense.
"Dawson, we did indeed walk into the villa, but if you think some bombs can deal with us, you're dreaming," Qin Xiaoya said lightly. Remembering the earlier scene was indeed thrilling; however, their master was truly extraordinary. With Spiritual Energy defense, even at the center of an explosion, they could remain unscathed.
Dawson Caymanwei's face turned ashen as he slumped to the ground.
"I shouldn't have come back," he regretted deeply.
"Did you really think you could escape? Your life is merely a thought away from My Young Master; how ridiculous," Qin Xiaoya shook her head. People often don't shed tears until they see the coffin. This old man Dawson was truly stubborn; even after the Undead Knight had died, he still fantasized about revenge.
With a long sigh, Dawson Caymanwei realized there was no way out now.
"This is all my idea. I truly don't know the whereabouts of that bronze artifact. If you want to kill me, then go ahead; it has nothing to do with my clan. I hope you spare them; I am willing to offer all my treasures to you," Dawson Caymanwei said in an instant, looking as if he had aged over ten years. The wrinkles on his face deepened, and he appeared utterly lifeless. Before dying, Dawson Caymanwei finally showed some courage befitting a Clan Leader.
"Rest assured, your life is insignificant to us. To kill you, My Young Master could do so with just a thought from home in Huaxia. In the coming days, we will need you to personally hand over your Kaimanwei Family's treasures to us," Qin Xiaoya stated.
Dawson Caymanwei had no words left; his heart felt cold. Had he known this would be the outcome, why bother with those futile efforts? These Huaxia people were truly inhuman; they were simply devils—no, worse than devils. They didn't even regard the United States Military and had killed Admiral Brelly yet remained so leisurely; what kind of confidence was this?
"This time, we will not have any second thoughts," Dawson Caymanwei sighed lowly.
Qin Xiaoya smiled faintly; whether Dawson Caymanwei had second thoughts was truly of no importance at all.
"Alright, let's go. Jon, you'll be responsible for the handover of the Kaimanwei Family's treasures." Seeing there was no news about the Devouring Heaven Bottle, Jiang Chen lost interest and casually instructed before getting into the car and leaving.
Jiang Chen still needed to head to New York to meet Su Xue.
Dawson Caymanwei watched as Jiang Chen said a word and then left without acknowledging him at all; this made his feelings even more complicated. In Jiang Chen's eyes, he was simply inconsequential.
Sigh... Dawson Caymanwei could only let out a long sigh; no one knew his suffering. The Kaimanwei Family had stood for a hundred years and was about to perish in his hands. He felt unwilling but powerless.
"I have tried my best, but my opponent is not even human," Dawson Caymanwei consoled himself; otherwise, he felt he could not face his ancestors.
On a luxurious private jet heading to New York, Niyona couldn't help but inquire about the situation inside the mansion. She had clearly seen the entire estate explode, yet Jiang Chen and Qin Xiaoya seemed completely unharmed. Could it be that such an explosion couldn't even scratch them?
"Niyona, you'll come to understand the power of our master. On this Earth, nothing can harm him," Qin Xiaoya replied with a smile.
"Is he a god?" Niyona asked cautiously.
"More powerful than a god," Qin Xiaoya affirmed confidently.
Niyona was left speechless, deeply shaken. Although she had been an atheist in the past, she now firmly believed in the existence of divine beings in this world.
"Master, those from the Kaimanwei Family truly lack respect. They have repeatedly offended you. Once they hand over their treasures, should we eradicate them completely?" Jon Delson spoke up.
"Do as you wish," Jiang Chen said nonchalantly.
In a high-end neighborhood in New York, a house here was worth millions of dollars. Inside an elegantly designed home, Su Xue was trying to explain herself to her mother, Su Qin. No matter how hard she tried, Su Qin refused to listen.
Su Qin was furious. She had already warned Jiang Chen not to get involved with Su Xue, yet he had ignored her advice and even followed her all the way to the United States. What was worse was that her daughter seemed particularly invested in Jiang Chen, which only fueled Su Qin's anger.
"Mom, Jiang Chen has changed. He is very capable now; you shouldn't treat him this way," Su Xue argued loudly.
"Changed or not, you and he are not from the same social class. Remember, you are meant to return to the Wang family and become their young lady. Jiang Chen is just an ordinary person without any background. You two are worlds apart; getting too close will do neither of you any good," Su Qin said coldly.
"Mom, you're being prejudiced! Jiang Chen and I grew up together; we are friends. Even if he is just an ordinary person, he is still my friend. Everyone is born equal; how can you use social class to dismiss someone?" Su Xue shouted, disappointed by her mother's words. The mother she had always admired turned out to be someone like this.
"Childhood is one thing; now is another. You haven't seen him in over ten years—how well do you really know him? I see him as someone who clings to us for status; if he had any shame, he would remember what I told him last time and keep his distance from you," Su Qin scoffed.
"I know him well, Mom; it's you who doesn't understand him! Why can't you give him a chance? He is genuinely capable now! Just a few days ago, he treated me and my friends to dinner—you have no idea how much that meal cost!" Su Xue exclaimed.
