“Fang Bo!” I exclaimed, tears streaming down my face in fright.
“Don’t come over!” Fang Bo frowned.
I stood frozen in place, watching him.
I saw him slowly climbing up.
My heart raced, terrified that he might fall.
Finally, Fang Bo successfully reached the top of the cliff.
He secured a rope around a tree trunk and tied the other end around his waist.
“Tie the rope to the tree,” he instructed.
“Okay,” I replied, then followed his instructions to secure the rope.
“Try to come up now.”
“Alright,” Fang Bo responded and began to inch his way toward the edge of the cliff.
Just then, the ground suddenly shifted beneath us.
In the next moment, Fang Bo fell off the cliff!
“Ah—”
I gasped, my tears flowing down in fear.
“Fang Bo!”
“Don’t come over!” Fang Bo shouted, frowning again.
I stood rigidly, watching him.
He gripped the rope tightly with both hands and began to climb back up step by step.
My heart raced even faster, fearing he might fall again.
"Don't come over!" Fang Bo frowned.
"Why?" I asked through my tears.
"The ground is too slippery. If you come over, you'll fall!" Fang Bo explained.
I cried even harder.
"Then why did you come down?"
"If I didn't come over, you would get hurt!" Fang Bo said in a deep voice.
Hearing this made me even more touched.
So he came down for my sake!
"Stop crying!" Fang Bo said, his heart aching.
"Don't worry about me!" I shouted stubbornly.
"Alright, alright, I won't worry about you," Fang Bo replied helplessly.
"Please come back up!" I cried out.
"Okay," Fang Bo responded and began to climb back up slowly.
Watching him ascend step by step made my heart ache.
What if he had been just a moment slower...
What if he...
I couldn't bear to think any further!
At that moment, Fang Bo suddenly spoke up:
"Shi Huiran, can you tie the other rope to the tree?"
"Sure," I replied and started to tie the rope as he instructed.
Five minutes later.
I finally tied the two ropes together.
“It’s ready!” I shouted, tears streaming down my face.
“Okay,” Fang Bo replied, then began to climb up slowly.
With the help of the two ropes, Fang Bo finally managed to scale the cliff.
He lay on the ground, gasping for breath, and I rushed over to hug him tightly.
“Waaah…” I cried out, my heart breaking.
“It’s alright, I’m fine now,” Fang Bo comforted softly.
I hit him lightly in frustration, “You scared me to death!”
Fang Bo sighed, “I’m sorry for making you worry.”
I sniffled a few times and then looked up at him.
“Why did you come down to save me?”
Fang Bo paused for a moment, then said gently, “Because I like you.”
Hearing those words left me completely stunned.
What?
He said he liked me?
Just as I was lost in thought, Fang Bo spoke again.
“Shi Huiran, would you be my girlfriend?”
It took me a while to process his words.
This is a bare confession!
I was so excited that tears filled my eyes, and I threw myself into his arms.
"I’m willing!"
Fang Bo held me tightly and said gently, "Thank you for being willing to like me."
I smiled and replied, "I should be the one thanking you!"
After a pause, I added, "Thank you for liking me!"
Fang Bo was taken aback for a moment before leaning down to kiss me.
I shyly closed my eyes and wrapped my arms around his neck.
After getting together with Fang Bo, he often accompanied me.
Even when my mom called to ask me to come home, she insisted that I bring my boyfriend along.
When my mom saw Fang Bo, she warmly pulled him aside to chat.
I sat nearby, watching the two of them talk animatedly, feeling a bit puzzled.
