On the afternoon of July 22, someone informed Li Zheng that Sun Yan's lover, Chen Bin, had shown signs of recovery, and the two had begun discussing marriage. 0

"She takes my money and plans to marry another man!" Li Zheng clenched his fists, veins bulging on his arms. "A woman like that deserves to pay for her actions!" 0

At 9 PM that evening, Li Zheng called Sun Yan. 0

"Sun Yan, we need to talk." His voice sounded calm. 0

"What do you want to talk about, Old Li?" Sun Yan replied, a hint of impatience in her tone. 0

"About us." 0

Li Zheng paused for a moment. "Come to my house; there are some things that can't be said over the phone." 0

Sun Yan hesitated. She knew Li Zheng had been displeased with her lately, but she believed this stubborn old man wouldn't dare do anything drastic. Besides, if he really caused trouble, she had ways to handle him. 0

"Fine, I'll come over after work," she finally agreed. 0

Li Zheng hung up the phone, a cold smile creeping onto his lips. 0

At 11 PM, Sun Yan arrived at Li Zheng's home. Dressed in a red dress and sporting exquisite makeup, she looked captivating. 0

"Old Li, what did you want to see me about?" Sun Yan asked as she sat on the sofa, crossing her legs. 0

"I want to ask you what our relationship really is," Li Zheng said, sitting across from her. 0

"Our relationship?" Sun Yan chuckled. "We're friends, of course. I'm very grateful for how well you've treated me." 0

A flash of anger crossed Li Zheng's eyes. "Then what about your relationship with Chen Bin?" 0

Sun Yan's expression shifted slightly but quickly returned to normal. "Old Li, don’t listen to what others say. Chen Bin and I are just ordinary friends." 0

Li Zheng scoffed. "Do ordinary friends need you to deliver soup and meals every day? Do ordinary friends discuss marriage?" 0

Caught in her lie, Sun Yan's face showed a moment of panic. 0

"Old Li, please don't be angry." She stood up and walked over to him, gently touching his shoulder. "I know you've been good to me; I understand that. But you must also understand my situation—I'm a woman and can't drift aimlessly forever." 0

As she spoke, she reached out to caress Li Zheng's shoulder. "Rest assured, no matter who I'm with, I will never forget your kindness." 0

Li Zheng suddenly stood up, pushing Sun Yan's hand away. "Enough! Do you think I would still be fooled by you?" 0

"Old Li, what's wrong with you?" Sun Yan feigned a look of grievance. "How have I deceived you?" 0

Li Zheng's voice grew louder. "You took my money to care for another man, you said you wanted to be good to me but you're still seeing clients, you promised to be with me yet plan to marry someone else! Tell me, how have you not deceived me?" 0

Seeing that Li Zheng was genuinely angry, Sun Yan realized that her usual tactics of pouting and acting cute were futile. Her expression darkened. 0

"Old Li, you can't say that," she said, her tone becoming firm. "I may have taken your money, but I've also spent a long time with you. Besides, I never forced you to give me money; it was your choice." 0

"As for my life, that's my freedom. You can't control everything about me just because you've given me some money, can you?" 0

"Fine! You're right; your life is your freedom. But I have my freedom too!" Li Zheng gritted his teeth. 0

"What do you mean?" Sun Yan sensed something was off. 0

"Nothing much," Li Zheng suppressed the anger boiling inside him. "Why don't you go take a shower first? We can talk properly afterward." 0

Sun Yan looked at Li Zheng and felt he had come to terms with things, so she nodded. "Alright then, I'll go take a shower." 0

As she walked into the bathroom and the sound of water filled the air, a beast-like glint flickered in Li Zheng's eyes. He approached the tool cabinet and took out a small hammer. 0
