Su Xue was very quiet today, not saying a word. Moreover, she hoped to stay in Huaxia. As for the Wang family, it was a fate she could not escape. Although it was destiny, she had to face it. For Su Xue, life without the Wang family would still be good.
After some discussion, Su Qin compromised and agreed to look at the contract documents. Xu Hongli quickly produced the prepared documents; there were not many pages in the contract. The simpler the contract, the better it often was. Su Qin carefully reviewed it and found that it was entirely beneficial for her daughter with no harm at all.
"Su Qin, there's no need for doubt. Xiaoxue is one of us from the Wang family; how could we possibly harm her? I care for her dearly," the old lady said, noticing Su Qin's hesitation and fearing that her precious granddaughter might not want to return.
"What good does it do if you won't harm Xue Er? It seems that this woman is in charge of the Wang family now," Su Qin scoffed, finally realizing that Xu Hongli had become the head of the Wang family, and even Old Wang had to listen to her.
"Haha, you're right; I am indeed in charge of the Wang family. But I would never harm Xiaoxue. If I wanted to hurt her, why would I want her back? I also want to be a mother; you should understand a woman's desire to be a mother," Xu Hongli said with a tone of sadness.
With such a sorrowful tone and reasonable appeal, Su Qin couldn't bring herself to be harsh. "I'll think about it," she replied.
"I'll give you a day to consider it. Please give me your answer tomorrow," Xu Hongli said with a faint smile, exuding confidence as if everything was under her control.
"Is there really anything to consider? Xue Er is already a descendant of our Wang family; she should return to her roots," the old lady stated.
"Heh, you didn't say that back then," Su Qin retorted coldly.
"Let her think for a day. I believe Su Qin is a sensible person, and this matter truly has no drawbacks for Xiaoxue," the old man interjected, his tone filled with helplessness.
The Wang family was small in number, and such a large family was being controlled by an outsider's daughter-in-law. Old Wang felt frustrated but knew there was only one way to change this situation. He glanced at Su Xue again.
"Xue Er, let's go back to the hotel," Su Qin said as she stood up.
Su Xue could only awkwardly stand up as well, gently freeing herself from the old lady's hand.
"Su Qin, let Xiaoxue stay at home; how can a hotel compare to home?" the old lady complained.
"I find the hotel much more comfortable than here," Su Qin replied bluntly.
The old lady glared angrily at Su Qin, scolding her for lacking manners.
"Enough! Everyone stop talking," the old man said loudly, finally silencing the old lady.
"I'll take you to the hotel. If you want to explore the capital, I can be your guide," the old man said.
Su Qin did not refuse; he knew the old man had something to say to him. After leaving Wang Family Mansion, the old man did not take Su Qin back to the hotel but instead went to a nearby park.
"Just wait in the car. My granddaughter and I will take a stroll here," the old man instructed his butler, Wang Bo.
Wang Bo could only sit in the car obediently and wait.
In the park.
"Old man, if you have something to say, just say it," Su Qin said flatly.
"Su Qin, I need to apologize first. I haven't fulfilled my promise to you," Old Wang sighed.
"If you couldn't do it, why did you agree in the first place? Old man, are you someone who doesn't keep his word?" Su Qin remained cold.
"No one wants to be seen as untrustworthy, and I least of all. But sometimes, one has to resort to expedients. If I hadn't agreed to meet you back then, you wouldn't have wanted to see me at all. Moreover, having Xu Hongli and Jian Song divorce is my current wish. If she doesn't leave the Wang family, the Wang family will no longer bear that name in the future," the old man said helplessly.
"Then it seems your wish won't come true now," Su Qin sneered.
"It can still be realized, but there's only one way left." The old man suddenly looked at Su Xue.
"Even if Xue Er returns to the Wang family, she probably won't be able to deal with that woman. Don't forget, that daughter has the Xu Family backing her. She herself is unwilling to divorce, and you wouldn't dare force her," Su Qin said.
"I have a foolproof plan, but it requires your cooperation. First, you must bring Xue Er back," the old man stated.
"I've said before that I need time to think about it," Su Qin replied.
"Alright, I believe you'll make the right choice. And one thing I can guarantee is that once Xue Er returns, Xu Hongli will eventually leave our Wang family. Xue Er is the most suitable and legitimate heir of our Wang family," the old man said firmly.
Su Qin smiled but said nothing; wishes are beautiful while reality is harsh.
Such matters require a gamble.
Would Su Qin be willing to gamble with his daughter?
"I was originally going to hold a recognition banquet for Xiaoxue tonight, but out of respect for you, I'll give you time to consider it. However, I hope tomorrow's banquet goes smoothly," the old man added.
"Tomorrow everything will be settled. Alright, old man, I see you're not in the mood for a stroll in the park anymore. Let's go," Su Qin smiled.
Back at the hotel, Su Qin looked at his daughter.
“Xue Er, I want to ask for your opinion, and you should understand what your grandfather meant just now,” Su Qin said.
“Mom, I’ll listen to you,” Su Xue replied.
“Your mother also wants to hear your own thoughts. After all, that woman is still in the Wang family. Your grandfather means that when you return to the Wang family, he will help you deal with her. Although I don’t know what plan he has, I feel that this matter won’t be easy. You are naturally pure and kind-hearted, and getting involved in such family struggles will not be beneficial for you,” Su Qin said with concern.
“Mom, even though I’m innocent, I’m not foolish. I’m not afraid of any challenges,” Su Xue laughed.
“I’m just worried about you suffering,” Su Qin said gently.
“Only by enduring hardships can one rise above others. I’m not a flower in a greenhouse,” Su Xue said earnestly.
“Right, you are not a flower in a greenhouse. You have endured more hardships than many others, and you are stronger than most,” hearing her daughter’s words deeply moved Su Qin.
“Mom, let’s not talk about this anymore. Don’t you want to see Jiang Chen? I’ll take you to see him right now,” Su Xue suddenly smiled.
