I let out a cold laugh.
Li Hao's expression changed.
Li Shan had already told me that Li Hao was a wealthy heir, self-made and cautious, somewhat stingy. I thought that he might not care about spending tens of thousands on a pretty face, but when it came to millions, he would definitely refuse.
Sure enough, after thinking for a moment, he asked me what to do. I told Li Hao that I would notify him about the house purchase at the right time, and all he needed to do was control Yu Fengjuan's funds during that period. Li Hao agreed.
Later, with Yu Fengjuan's funds under Li Hao's control and unable to come up with that much money, it led to the fake divorce between Ma Yuqiang and me. Unexpectedly, this time, Li Hao refused to meet me.

I took out a voice recorder and said, “If you want everyone in this café to know about your affairs, I’m more than willing to let them listen.”
Her expression changed as she pulled me into a small private room. With a dark face, she asked what I wanted. I began playing an edited confession from Ma Yuqiang.
Yu Fengjuan appeared indifferent and raised her hand to interrupt me: “Stop it. Do you think I’m with Ma Yuqiang because of true love?”
“I’m just spending money for fun.”
“I don’t care about what he told you; as long as he is obedient and clean, that’s enough for me.”
It seemed that I truly couldn’t understand the world of these wealthy people.
Fortunately, I was well-prepared. I nodded to indicate that I understood her point. Then, I pulled out another voice recorder from my pocket.
“I’ll definitely find a way to deal with her daughter and secure a nice apartment so that our son will be born into privilege!” Hearing Ma Yuqiang's voice made Yu Fengjuan's face change instantly.
I chuckled softly. “You underestimate Ma Yuqiang; ever since you couldn’t manage the eight million for the house, he changed his target.”
“He told me that President Li is much more generous towards his daughter.”
“Miss Li is young and beautiful, innocent and ignorant; who knows if she’ll end up liking obedient men like her mother?”
Yu Fengjuan snapped at me to shut up.
I looked at her and didn't say anything further. Yu Fengjuan stood up, ready to leave. I took out my phone and blocked her path again, pointing at the screen to indicate she should take a look.
Yu Fengjuan glanced at it and then stopped in her tracks. The flesh on her face quivered as she grabbed my arm, demanding to know where I got the photo. What I showed her was a picture of her and Ma Yuqiang in bed together. I pushed her hand away and sighed.
"I found it on Ma Yuqiang's computer."
"Do you think he kept these photos for his own enjoyment or to blackmail you later?"
Yu Fengjuan snatched my phone, intending to throw it. I scoffed.
"If you break it, I'll have to get it repaired. And if those photos leak during the repair process, that's not my problem."
"What do you want?" she asked through gritted teeth.
"You help me deal with Ma Yuqiang so he won't bother me anymore. Otherwise, I can't guarantee that my phone or computer won't break down one day and need fixing!" I stared at her, speaking each word clearly.
Yu Fengjuan looked at me with disdain. "Ma Yuqiang has legs; how can I control him?"
"Besides, why should I help you? If you dare leak those photos, I won't let you off the hook."
"You've got it wrong; this isn't helping me—it's repaying a debt to me." I slammed my hand on the table, pointing at Yu Fengjuan as I spoke sternly.
"You can find a pretty boy anywhere; there are plenty of gigolos and unmarried men on the streets. Yet you chose to have an affair with a married man."
"And knowing I'm pregnant, you specifically chose to rent a place in my neighborhood to carry on your affair. A person like you is beyond redemption; you have no moral compass."
"Don't try to scare me; I won't spread the photos around recklessly, but I have ways to ensure they reach your daughter."
"If you don't care, then go ahead and try."
Yu Fengjuan was momentarily stunned by my words and fell silent for a long time. In the end, she promised that Ma Yuqiang wouldn't trouble me again.
Months after meeting with Yu Fengjuan, Li Shan informed me that Ma Yuqiang was in jail. Li Shan had someone look into the situation. It turned out that Yu Fengjuan had deceived Ma Yuqiang into believing that Li Hao had discovered she had embezzled money and was pressing her for answers.
Unable to come up with the money herself, she wanted Ma Yuqiang to pay it back first to deal with Li Hao. Ma Yuqiang was reluctant to part with his money. Yu Fengjuan sweet-talked him, saying she didn't actually want to repay him but was afraid that if Li Hao found out about their affair, it would be detrimental to Ma Yuqiang.
Frightened by this prospect, Ma Yuqiang agreed. Yu Fengjuan suggested they create a fake procurement contract as a cover-up. Under her guidance, Ma Yuqiang registered a shell company and drafted a fake contract.
The contract stipulated that Yu Fengjuan would import raw materials through Ma Yuqiang for a total price of two million. Ma Yuqiang thought that once the fake contract was done, everything would be settled.
Unexpectedly, Yu Fengjuan turned around and sued him for fraud.
Ma Yuqiang defended himself in court, claiming it was a fake contract. But once a contract is signed and stamped, how can it be fake? The company that stamped it was registered by Ma Yuqiang, and the signature was his as well. The rights and obligations on the contract were clearly stated.
Ma Yuqiang found himself at a loss for words and could only admit defeat. He offered to pay back the money, pleading with Yu Fengjuan to let him off the hook. However, Yu Fengjuan insisted that he had caused significant losses due to his breach of contract and demanded over ten million in compensation.
Despair washed over Ma Yuqiang as he finally understood that Yu Fengjuan had no intention of letting him go. In the end, due to the enormous amount involved in the fraud, Ma Yuqiang was sentenced to over ten years in prison.
When his daughter was born, Ma Yuqiang's father called to inform me. Upon hearing that I had given birth to a girl, he broke down in tears over the phone, lamenting that their family was finished and would die out. He even cursed me as a harbinger of doom. I hung up immediately and blocked him.
When Li Shan came to visit me, she told me that after Ma Yuqiang's mother had an incident, her blood pressure skyrocketed to 220 due to stress, resulting in a stroke and paralysis. Ma Yuqiang's father was also in poor health and had to take care of his wife, looking utterly haggard.
I remained silent for a long time after hearing this. Perhaps, indeed, good and evil are rewarded accordingly. Looking at the little angel beside me, my heart softened. I transferred one hundred thousand from my account and asked Li Shan to help me deliver it to Ma Yuqiang's parents. They had contributed three hundred thousand when I bought my house.
I am not a saint; I cannot forgive their actions. But I am not greedy either; this money originally belonged to them, and I will repay it slowly.
