The next day, Sun Xin took the business partners out for a meal and drinks. After a few glasses, my face turned red, but the partners still tried to get me to drink more, which Sun Xin stopped. In the end, we successfully closed the deal, but Sun Xin had drunk too much, and I ended up taking him back to the hotel. 0

After settling Sun Xin in, I returned to my room and casually glanced at the messages from Zhou Wei. With no emotion, I turned off my phone. Upon returning from the business trip, I ran into Zhou Wei downstairs at the company. 0

He looked disheveled with stubble and red eyes. As soon as he saw me, he rushed over and grabbed my suitcase. Sun Xin shot me a glance and said in a heavy tone, “Handle your matters and come find me.” 0

Zhou Wei held onto my hand, panic evident in his voice. “Xiao Yue, where have you been? I’ve been looking for you for days, waiting downstairs at your company. That photo was a misunderstanding; I didn’t kiss her first—she suddenly hugged me and kissed me. I only like you; can’t you feel that?” 0

I pulled my hand away and looked at him expressionlessly. “To be honest, I really can’t feel it.” 0

Zhou Wei was momentarily speechless. I didn’t care that there were people around; I continued, “If it weren’t for the fact that I look like Yu Lan, would you still be pursuing me?” 0

Zhou Wei’s pupils contracted as he tightened his grip on my hand. “You… know about it?” 0

I tugged at my suitcase and scoffed. “Zhou Wei, I liked you once, but I’m not desperate. I’ve been Yu Lan’s substitute for over two years; now that she’s back, you should let me go.” 0

Just as I was about to leave, Zhou Wei suddenly blocked my path, desperation on his face. “Guan Yue, during the days you were gone, I couldn’t sleep at all thinking about us. I realized that what I truly like is you, not Yu Lan. I was wrong before; please give me another chance. Can we really just let our two years of feelings go like this?” 0

I let out a cold laugh. “Zhou Wei, stop pretending. You probably wanted to break up with me when Yu Lan was preparing to return to the country, right? The kindness you showed me over these two years was just because I look like her. Now that I'm letting you go, you should let me go too; you can pursue your white moonlight in peace.” 0

Zhou Wei's expression changed, and he fell silent. 0
"Also, don't you find it disgusting to say such things?" I continued. 0
Zhou Wei was completely stunned, while I walked around him, preparing to leave. Suddenly, I caught sight of his shoes and added, "Those computers and shoes, either throw them away or transfer the money to me. I feel it's bad luck to accept gifts from you." 0
I pulled out a few receipts from my bag and tossed them at him. 0
Zhou Wei paused for a moment, looking bewildered. "So you kept the receipts just to get back at me?" 0
I shook my head. "I just want you to experience this feeling too." 0
After saying that, I turned to leave, but Zhou Wei grabbed my arm again. His eyes glistened with tears, and his voice was filled with desperation: 0
"Guan Yue, I know I was wrong. I can't live without you. Please don't leave me. I'll cut ties with Yu Lan; I'll work hard and support you. I'll pay you back; all I ask is that you don't break up with me. The time you've been away has felt like an eternity." 0
I remained expressionless. "You and Yu Lan will have a better future." 0
With that, I pulled my arm free and walked away without looking back. 0

The next day, news of my argument with Zhou Wei spread throughout the company; even Sun Xin had heard about it. He picked me up outside my new apartment in the morning and brought breakfast along. 0
While we were eating, he asked, "So you were nice to your ex just to hurt him in the end?" 0
I took a sip of soy milk. "He treated me like a substitute and wasted two and a half years of my life. Why shouldn't I collect some interest?" 0
Sun Xin shook his head. "You're really different from other girls; you're tough on men." 0
"If I had broken up with him back then, I'd have felt miserable for a long time while watching him flaunt his happiness. I couldn't stand it, so the only way to make it right for myself was to capture his heart and then shatter it completely." 0
Sun Xin chuckled softly. "I guess I'll have to be careful from now on." 0
I didn't grasp the deeper meaning behind his words and didn't ask further. 0
