Consistent? 0
Not necessarily! 0
Jiang Fan's attitude towards such matters seems to outsiders to be the same as before. 0
But he hid something from me. 0
Just that alone is unusual. 0
Moreover, his attitude towards that girl. 0
In the past, he wouldn't have lasted five minutes and wouldn't have sent an assistant to clean up afterward. 0
So I did a little investigation into that girl. 0
I discovered that she had transformed from a barmaid into Jiang Fan's secretary. 0
When Jiang Fan returned, I was still busy in the study. 0
After spending the whole day with Jia Jia, my work had piled up like a mountain. 0
"Still busy?" 0
"Yeah." 0
"Then I'll go rest first." 0
"Wait for me in the living room after your shower; we need to talk." 0
I glanced back at him, my tone a bit cold. 0
Jiang Fan clearly paused for a moment, his brow slightly furrowed. 0
He didn't say anything, just gave me a faint look before closing the door and walking out. 0
I didn't know if he would wait for me. 0
He generally doesn't like it when I speak to him in that tone. 0
As he complained to his friends, whenever I use that tone, it's never good news. 0
Today was no exception. 0
But I didn't want to argue with him or cause a scene. 0

After I finished my work and walked into the living room, I saw him sitting there. 0
"Care for a drink? We can chat while we sip," I suggested, trying to lighten the mood. 0
"Truth or dare?" he raised an eyebrow at me. 0
"It's not that serious, just a casual chat." 0
He relaxed a bit and got up to grab a small piece of cake from the fridge. 0
"This was meant for Jia Jia, but it seems she won't be having any." 0
"You have a sensitive stomach; eat something first, don't drink on an empty stomach." 0
The atmosphere was actually quite pleasant. 0
With this vibe, we should be able to have a good talk and resolve things. 0
But at that moment, the cake became a trigger. 0
Indeed, I had overestimated myself. 0
"Where did you buy it?" 0
"Just a dessert shop I passed by." 0
"It’s not from Yang Fang's place, is it?" 0
The moment I saw Yang Fang getting out of the car, I knew Jiang Fan hadn't kept his promise to me. 0
After finding out that Yang Fang had become Jiang Fan's secretary, I went to his office. 0
Coincidentally, he wasn't there that day. 0
I asked his assistant, "Where's Yang Fang?" 0
The assistant stammered, looking nervous. 0
Later, in Jiang Fan's lounge, I found her curled up on a single bed, covered with the cashmere blanket I had bought for Jiang Fan, her face pale as if she were ill. 0
Seeing me, she looked panicked and quickly got up. 0
"Where's Jiang Fan?" I asked her. 0

She bit her lip and said shyly, "I got my period, and my stomach hurts. President Jiang went to buy some painkillers and a hot drink." 0
I nodded. "Then let's wait together." 0
Taking care of women during their periods was something Jiang Fan was quite experienced with. After all, he was the one who made me brown sugar water when I had my first period. He even blushed while buying sanitary pads for me. He knew which painkillers were the most effective. He also understood that women on their periods often had poor appetites but craved sweets. So, he bought Yang Fang the traditional Chinese medicine I usually took, along with a cup of ginger date tea and a slice of red velvet cake. 0
I handed the items to Yang Fang. "This medicine takes time to work, but it has fewer side effects. If it gets too bad, just take a day off; the company does offer some benefits." 0
Yang Fang nodded timidly, glancing at Jiang Fan. Seeing that he didn't say anything, she left with a downcast expression. 0
Once the office door closed, Jiang Fan called out to me, "Hui Hui!" 0
I walked straight into the break room, took out a cashmere blanket, and threw it in the trash right in front of him. 0
"You don't have to do that. I just felt sorry for her; there's nothing between us." 0
"Who is she?" 0
"She's the new secretary." 0
"I meant who is she to you!" 0
This time, Jiang Fan fell silent. After a long pause, he told me everything about Yang Fang. 0
