An Nuan took a taxi to Starry Entertainment Company. As soon as she got out of the car, she saw Shuo Shuo anxiously looking around.
When Shuo Shuo spotted her, she rushed over and grabbed her hand, pulling her inside.
"What’s going on, Shuo Shuo?" An Nuan asked, confused.
"Don’t ask, just come with me!"
Shuo Shuo was not only her manager but also a close friend. Naturally, she was worried about An Nuan and always considered her well-being. So, An Nuan didn’t ask further and followed Shuo Shuo to the general manager's office.
Shuo Shuo stopped outside the door, took a deep breath, and knocked.
"Knock knock knock—"
After three knocks, there was no response.
Shuo Shuo knocked three more times with more force and was about to call out when An Nuan raised her hand to stop her. "Don’t knock anymore; Ye Meiqi isn’t here."
"How do you know?"
Lan Shuo Shuo turned back to look at An Nuan’s calm demeanor, feeling anxious inside.
"Are you really that oblivious? You’ve been shelved by the company; don’t you know?"
She had just received the news herself and immediately called An Nuan, hoping to find a way to help her. But seeing An Nuan’s expression, it seemed like she wasn’t affected at all?
"I know, Ye Meiqi said it herself yesterday."
"What?" Lan Shuo Shuo asked in disbelief. "How is that possible? Isn't Ye Meiqi always supportive of you? She was the one who said she would promote you, and just when she was ready to make her move..."
"She wasn't interested in me; she was interested in Xiao Ruoyu. Before she could even negotiate with me, I caught them together in bed. Out of anger and embarrassment, she decided to blacklist me!"
An Nuan spoke lightly, even finding it amusing to think about Xiao Ruoyu's panicked expression just moments ago.
But Shuo Shuo stared at An Nuan with wide eyes, her expression one of sheer terror.
"You mean... you caught them in the act?"
The last part of her sentence came out almost as a scream.
An Nuan quickly covered Shuo Shuo's mouth. "Keep it down! Do you want to make our situation worse?"
Unexpectedly, Ye Meiqi was quite swift; what she said yesterday was already being put into action today.
So it seemed that Xiao Ruoyu had really pleased her, enough that she couldn't bear to let go.
"What are you going to do? If the company won't promote you and doesn't terminate your contract... Don't forget, you signed a ten-year contract! By the time it's over, you'll be in your thirties. You won't be a young girl anymore. Why don't you just seduce our big boss instead?"
"Big boss?"
An Nuan looked at Shuo Shuo with a puzzled expression. "What big boss? Isn't Xing Hui from Ye Meiqi's family?"
"That's true, but the chairman of the Major Shareholder isn't from the Ye family!"
Lan Shuo Shuo pouted and patted An Nuan's shoulder dismissively. "As long as you can get close to the big boss, we can both soar to new heights and become phoenixes. Why should we fear Ye Meiqi? By then, you won't even need that scumbag Xiao Ruoyu anymore. What a worthless piece of trash! I could tell he wasn't a good person from the start, but you wouldn't listen to me. Lan Shuo Shuo scolded her with an exasperated look, a mix of anger and sympathy on her face.
They both came here right after graduation. An Nuan pursued a career as an artist while she took on the role of a manager. Shuo Shuo had seen how hard An Nuan worked and how much she sacrificed for that scumbag.

Ye Meiqi glanced at An Nuan and said sarcastically, "So you're here. Just in time—I have a supporting role for you. Consider it a reward for telling me about his past misdeeds earlier!"
