Xiao Chen glanced at me and then removed the deceased's white coat. 0

"This is not the primary crime scene; she was killed elsewhere," he said coldly. "So your reasoning is completely wrong." 0

"How do you know that?" This guy loved to be cryptic. Unless you pressed him, he would only state the conclusions and never reveal the reasoning behind them. 0

But this time, I had to admit I was mistaken; I had overlooked something so obvious. "Look here," Xiao Chen pointed to the deceased's right hand. Following his gesture, I noticed that the deceased was wearing a black sweater, and the sleeve on her right arm was unnaturally rolled up. 0

"What does that mean?" I asked him. 0

"It indicates that this coat wasn't put on by her," Xiao Chen looked at me with disdain. "If it were you, what would you do before putting on a coat? You would grab the sleeve of your sweater with your hand and pull it through the coat's sleeve to prevent it from rolling up, which would be uncomfortable. But the deceased's sweater sleeve is rolled up at the elbow, indicating that she didn't put on the coat herself; someone else dressed her after she died." 0

"Are you saying that when she was attacked, she wasn't wearing this coat? Is this coat not hers? Then why do you say this isn't the primary crime scene? What's your reasoning?" I asked. 0

Xiao Chen raised his right hand to his forehead, looking quite desperate. "You misunderstood me. I'm not saying the coat doesn't belong to her. I'm just saying that she didn't put it on herself; the killer dressed her in it after committing the crime. You asked me why I said the garden isn't the primary crime scene, and it's clear from what we've established. We've already proven that the clothes weren't put on by her, and I've provided my reasoning. Therefore, we can conclude that she died wearing just her sweater. Given that it's February and quite cold, she wouldn't have been wandering outside in just a sweater; she must have been killed indoors. 0

"Why would the killer dress her in a coat? Because they knew that if they simply moved the body outdoors while she was only in a sweater, it would raise suspicion with the police. So they put a coat on her, but unfortunately, they didn't check the sleeves—rendering their efforts futile. 0

"Now let's consider why the killer moved the body outdoors. What was their goal? The victim was killed indoors; imagine a girl standing inside wearing a sweater when suddenly attacked from behind. What comes to mind—someone familiar! Of course, this is just speculation; I suggest you investigate her acquaintances first and look into those who might have had a motive. The killer taking money from her wallet was merely a distraction," Xiao Chen laid out his reasoning. 0

Hearing his deductions left me feeling utterly disappointed. 0

I straightened up and called for five more bottles of beer. Zhu Xu shook his head repeatedly, saying if we kept drinking, we wouldn't be able to continue with the story. I decided not to press further: "Your friend is impressive; just one glance and he knows so much. Is it really true?" To be honest, I was somewhat skeptical, but looking at Zhu Xu's serious expression made it hard to believe he was just boasting. 0

"I could write a mystery novel if I were that good at it. Why would I still be working as a police officer?" Zhu Xu said, a hint of pride in his voice. "So what happened next? Did you investigate acquaintances? Who is the murderer?" I fired off three questions in one breath. 0

Zhu Xu noticed my interest in the case and smiled slightly. "The deductions so far are nothing; the real excitement comes later. Just listen closely." He had no idea how attentively I was listening, even forgetting to take a sip from the beer in my hand. 0

According to Xiao Zhang's investigation, there were seven or eight suspects with motives to kill Jia Jieru. However, considering that moving a body requires physical strength, it would be difficult for a woman to manage it alone—unless there was an accomplice involved. Excluding the women left us with three male suspects. The first was her boyfriend, named Huang Kai, who was two years older than the victim. They met at a bar and had been dating for three months. A few days ago, Jia Jieru suddenly broke up with Huang Kai, claiming their personalities clashed. I have to say something here; young people these days treat relationships like a game. Look where that got them! 0

The second suspect was Jia Jieru's boss, a department manager named Jin Xiang, around forty-five years old and married. He had always been strict with her, but it was unclear how she had offended him. Later investigations revealed that the board believed Jia Jieru's work abilities surpassed those of Jin Xiang, posing a significant threat to his career. His motive was clear: he needed to eliminate her as an obstacle on his path to success. 0

The last suspect was quite something—a real scoundrel. This jerk, named Ding Tao, had pursued Jia Jieru for five years without giving up. I had never seen such persistence; the last time he harassed her, Huang Kai caught him and punched him in the face, leaving him scrambling for his teeth. Yet he still didn't give up and continued to bother her daily. Sometimes he would even wait outside her office just to get her to agree to date him. Ah, this world really has all kinds of people. His motive seemed to stem from a mindset of "if I can't have her, no one else can." 0

But finding the killer of Jia Jieru among these three was no easy task. None of them had alibis either. With no leads pointing in any direction, we felt like headless flies wandering aimlessly. 0
