I was quite curious. What could possibly be more enticing than a product launch? Given the various strange occurrences since Qin Danni joined the company, I began to suspect the Senior Management.
I had no intention of attending the product launch today, but I definitely planned to be at the evening gathering where the Senior Management would be present. With three hours left until the launch, I turned and saw Xiao Wu washing her hands in the restroom. She smiled at me.
I walked over and asked, "What's up?"
"Can you do me a favor?"
Xiao Wu had recently taken on an endorsement for a men's fragrance from a niche brand with a limited budget. She accepted this advertisement because she had been heavily suppressed by Qin Danni. The opportunities that should have belonged to her—advertising, traffic, resources—had all been snatched away by Qin Danni.
While Qin Danni herself might not have the power, she certainly had the backing of Senior Management. So, Xiao Wu and I struck a deal: she would host the product launch for me, and in return, I would share my promotional strategies for the fragrance.
Once we agreed, we headed straight to find the Brokerage Department Head. I suspected that if Qin Danni was indeed colluding with Senior Management, the head would know the details. Today, if Qin Danni wanted to extricate herself from something, she would definitely need the head's assistance, which is how I secured the hosting rights.
However, it didn't really matter who held those rights; even though Xiao Wu was being suppressed, she naturally attracted attention, and the head was more than willing to give her this opportunity.
With two hours left until the launch, Qin Danni had already begun her makeup. Xiao Wu and I took five fragrances and rode the elevator up to the Senior Management office area. The legal team and chairman were often abroad, so it couldn't be them. Excluding women, the remaining five individuals were the most likely suspects.
I asked Xiao Wu for help, and she immediately understood my intention and wanted to clarify the situation. She had always had a strained relationship with Qin Danni, so she took a bottle of perfume and knocked on the door of the first office. Under the pretense of shooting an advertisement, she successfully gifted the perfume to everyone and recorded a video.
Although Xiao Wu was somewhat suppressed, she still had a certain level of influence. She praised the perfume as a symbol of "successful individuals," emphasizing that there were only a few bottles available, which made the senior management feel like they were getting something special. Xiao Wu's actions did not affect Qin Danni, and naturally, the senior management would not refuse.
As for how things would be handled privately, that was another matter. Xiao Wu and I parted ways as we headed downstairs. I deliberately waited at the elevator for a while until I saw Qin Danni. When I noticed she was about to leave, I casually said, "Going out? Let's go together. I'm just about to buy something for my boyfriend."
Upon hearing it was about Fang Hao, her interest was piqued. "Oh? What are you buying for your boyfriend?"
I smiled and replied, "He recently took a liking to a particular perfume, so I plan to buy it for him."
"My birthday is coming up in a couple of days, so he must have gotten me something too; it’ll be like a return gift." Qin Danni looked enlightened.
"What perfume is it?"
I casually mentioned a new brand. Then I continued deliberately, "Fang Hao prefers niche perfumes and doesn't like mainstream brands. He initially liked the one from the advertisement that Xiao Wu did, but that series hasn't been mass-produced yet."
"I just asked Xiao Wu; she said it's already been sent out, so I have to buy another brand instead. It's rare for him to find a perfume that's easy to get, so of course, I have to get it for him."
At this point, I deliberately glanced at her as if hinting at something.
"After all, I know him better than anyone else when it comes to what he likes."
In reality, Fang Hao didn't like perfume at all.
But I knew that these words would ignite Qin Danni's competitive spirit.
I also believed that my gaze would irritate her.
I edited the video that Xiao Wu had filmed, highlighting the uniqueness and distinctiveness of this perfume.
