My best friend, Yin Cheng, is pregnant and worried about being entangled with her ex. She needs to figure out the custody situation. There's no choice; I have to step in for her. 0

I arrived at a place called Honest Law Firm. 0

"Who is your best lawyer?" I asked the receptionist. 0

She smiled and replied, "Miss, please fill out this registration form first." 0

After completing the registration, someone led me to the top floor. The person knocked three times on the door, turned around, and left me alone as I entered. 0

As the door opened, I saw a man bent over his desk, writing. He looked somewhat familiar. 0

I walked over and said, "Hello, I am..." 0

He lifted his head, and I nearly choked on my own saliva. Zhou Chenyu? How could it be him? What a twist of fate. 0

Zhou Chenyu was taken aback as well but quickly pointed to the chair across from him. "Have a seat." 0

He still spoke in that commanding tone, which was irritating. I decided not to sit. 0

"Suit yourself," Zhou Chenyu said. 0

I plopped down in the chair defiantly. I wanted to go against him at every turn. However, seeing the slight smirk on his lips made me feel like I might have fallen into his trap. 0

Zhou Chenyu spoke coolly, "What do you want to consult about? Go ahead." 0

I raised my chin slightly and asked, "I'm pregnant after a breakup. Once the child is born, who gets custody?" 0

He looked at me, and as a professional lawyer, he asked a very professional question. 0
"Whose child is it?" 0
Professional my foot! 0
He was staring at my belly; did he really think I was pregnant? 0
I straightened my back silently and replied, "It's definitely not yours." 0
He chuckled lightly, "Of course, we broke up two years ago. I can't possibly have conceived from afar, and you can't be carrying a child like Nezha." 0
This guy still had a sharp tongue. 0
"If you can't answer my question, then get another lawyer to handle my case." 0
"Custody usually goes to the mother, but she needs to have the ability to raise the child, like having a job or savings..." 0
He looked me up and down. "You should be fine." 0
I puffed out my chest. "I have no problem at all." 0
Hearing him say that put me at ease. 0
I stood up. "Thank you, I'm leaving now." 0
"Mm." He responded lightly. 0
As I reached the door, he added, "If it comes to a lawsuit, remember to come find me." 0
I turned back. 0
He gave me a standard smile. "For the sake of old acquaintances, just keep me in the loop." 0
"Sure." 0
I returned a fleeting fake smile and walked out. 0
Once outside, I let out a long breath. 0
I had temporarily won against my ex; after all, he believed I was pregnant. 0
I called Yin Cheng to tell her the outcome: "I ran into Zhou Chenyu, and coincidentally..." 0

The lawyer I consulted is him; his firm has actually opened here. 0
Yin Cheng asked, "So, what about custody?" 0
"Typically, it goes to the mother, unless she is unable to care for the child or there are other issues." 0
"Then I can rest easy. Alright, you don't need to worry about my matters; you prepare for a showdown with your ex," Yin Cheng said before hanging up. 0
She really understands me. 0
"If that jerk sees you, just say you're pregnant." 0
Yin Cheng has repeated this countless times before her check-up. 0
Do soon-to-be mothers really nag this much? 0
"I know, I know. I'm not a goldfish with a seven-second memory." 0
I was a bit impatient. 0
"Goldfish have memories longer than seven seconds, but you're about that close," Yin Cheng replied with a look that said "you're unreliable." 0
Fine, I won't argue with her. 0
After a series of tests at the hospital, everything came back normal. 0
I supported Yin Cheng and said, "Are you really planning to have the baby? Being a single mother isn't easy." 0
Yin Cheng glanced at me but remained silent. 0
As we walked, she suddenly leaned on me for support. 0
