I endured three years in such a home, and after getting into college, I finally escaped that hell. But my Stepfather went bankrupt, and my mother expected me to help him pay off his debts. Ha, how ridiculous. I would repay the money my Stepfather spent on me and support my mother, but pay off his debts? Not a chance.
Because of this, my conversations with my mother always ended in anger. Her complaints and insults hurt me more than my Stepfather's fists ever could. When I turned around, I saw Hu Keyan laughing and joking with another man. That man held her wrist, begging for mercy. They were so close that I lost my temper in an instant.
With a few words, I could tell that the man liked Hu Keyan, while that fool had no idea. She even knew he was going to play games with his roommates at night. Given their familiarity, she must have shared her life with him often. What I thought was precious meant nothing to her. My so-called love at first sight was all nonsense.
I felt like I was about to explode. After picking up my white moonlight, all I wanted was to leave immediately and not see Hu Keyan again. I feared I would lose my temper with her. But she followed me as if she intended to come home with me.
As soon as I stopped, she bumped into me and clutched her nose in pain. "Why are you following me?" I asked coldly. "I'm going home! Why are you walking so fast?" she complained while holding her nose.
"How can you still ask me that?"
I finally lost control.
“Hu Keyan, that’s my home. I never said I wanted to share it with you; it was all your one-sided wish.”
As soon as the words left my mouth, I regretted them.
Her tears flowed immediately, and she lowered her head in grievance, letting them fall to the ground.
“Ah... I'm sorry...”
She apologized to me with a choked voice.
I froze.
My anger was doused like a flame with cold water, and my heart became a chaotic mess.
I wanted to hug her, but I couldn't let go of my feelings for the other girl.
I wanted to wipe her tears, but I didn’t know what to say afterward.
“Don’t cry, it’s okay?”
What a terrible line; clearly, I was the one who made her cry. Why was she apologizing to me?
I stood there like a telephone pole, and finally, I stiffly turned and walked away.
Later that night, when she and the other girl switched back, I would properly apologize to her. That was my plan.
Maybe it was heaven punishing me.
On my way home, a torrential rain began to pour down.
By the time I got home, I was completely soaked.
Looking at the lightning and thunder outside, all I could think about was Hu Keyan's tear-streaked face.
With her somewhat quirky intelligence...
"She wouldn't really be waiting for me there, would she?
She can't be so foolish as to watch too many idol dramas and just stand there waiting for me to come back, right?
That silly girl, doesn't she know that it's dangerous to hide under a tree during a thunderstorm?
Will she catch a cold if she gets soaked?
No way, right?
I bit my nails and paced around the room for a few circles,
finally unable to resist grabbing an umbrella and rushing out to find her.
Fortunately, she wasn't so foolish after all; she wasn't waiting for me there.
I breathed a sigh of relief and couldn't help but chuckle at myself.
I felt like my IQ had been infected by Hu Keyan.
At the end of the diary, Qi Chen wrote a cheesy line in a different color ink:
"My name is Qi Chen, and yours is Hu Keyan.
I want to be with you for a lifetime, celebrating every night."
Seeing that line, the tears that had just welled up from my sympathy for his past experiences were instantly held back, and I burst into laughter.
"Qi Chen! Qi Chen! Qi Chen!"
I happily waved the cloth around,
and then leaped into Lu Sheng's arms, clinging to him like a monkey.
"What's wrong now?" he asked as he held me.
"Let's go watch the meteor shower this weekend?"
"Huh?"
"And let's make a wish to celebrate every night with you~"
"Hey, hey, hey! Don't make random wishes; my back!"
