A moment later, a group of five appeared before them. One of them, who was quite rotund, had eyes that squinted into slits when he smiled, resembling Maitreya Buddha. His loose white robe could hardly contain his large frame, yet he exuded an air of mastery as he stood there with his broad and thick hands, his gaze falling on the broken tree. "Wang Yi, what happened here?" he asked.
Behind him stood several disciples, among them the Tall Youth, who was looking at Wang Yi with disdain. He was the one who had deliberately knocked Wang Yi to the ground a few days ago.
"Wang Yi, Brother Wang is asking you a question. Hurry up, who broke this tree?" the Tall Youth said arrogantly.
Wang Yi glanced at him indifferently, causing the latter to shiver involuntarily. After a moment of fear-filled contemplation about Wang Yi being a cripple now, he thought to himself, "Why should I be afraid of him?" With that thought, the Tall Youth snorted coldly.
"Well, Transcendence Level Four!" After observing Wang Yi for a moment, he expressed some surprise. "You have recovered."
"What?" The other four exclaimed almost in unison, their gazes immediately fixating on Wang Yi. The Tall Youth instinctively took two steps back, his face filled with disbelief.
"Impossible," the Tall Youth said. "Elder Zhou said his internal organs were all shattered and even his Dantian was destroyed. How could he possibly cultivate again?"
"Brother Wang, you didn't see wrong, did you?" one person asked after swallowing hard.
"Hmph, do you think I would lie to you? Wang Yi is indeed Transcendence Level Four; he has just concealed all his Vital Energy. You wouldn't be able to see it without being at Transcendence Level Six," Wang Zhou said discontentedly.
Wang Yi couldn't help but smile bitterly at this. Perhaps this method could fool these few people, but it certainly wouldn't deceive Wang Zhou.
"If you all have nothing else to do, please step aside," Wang Yi said.
The others exchanged glances and their eyes fell on Wang Zhou since he was the strongest among them.
Wang Zhou thought about how Wang Yi's injuries had healed; just a few days ago he was still a Waste, and now he was already at Transcendence Level Four. He believed that it wouldn't be long before Wang Yi regained his strength. With that thought in mind, he laughed heartily and said, "Wang Shidi's injuries are healed and his power is growing; congratulations from your senior brother!"
Wang Yi felt somewhat puzzled; from what he knew, Wang Zhou was a ruthless person who would take advantage of anyone. Now he was saying such things—what scheme was he trying to play?
"Wang Shidi, you are a smart person. Brother Zhao has always admired you; I wonder if you would consider serving Brother Zhao?" Seeing that Wang Yi remained silent, Wang Zhou forced a laugh.
"Our paths do not align," Wang Yi replied bluntly. "Please let me pass."
"You..." Wang Zhou started to speak, but the others couldn't hold back any longer and shouted, "Wang Yi, don't be ungrateful! Brother Zhao thinks highly of you and invited you to work together; you're being too rude!"
"Hmph, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have been locked up in Purgatory Cave," Wang Yi said.
"Wang Yi." Wang Zhou's expression suddenly turned cold. Wang Yi's words immediately reminded him of the scene where he was defeated by Wang Yi, Zhao Shanyu's anger, and the disdain of his disciples. It all felt like it was happening right before his eyes again, everything so clear. That battle left him humiliated; it was a disgrace for him.
"Wang Yi, don't be arrogant. Do you think you can still defeat me now?" Wang Zhou's face flushed red as he shouted angrily, "If you have the guts, fight me!"
"Hmph, a Sixfold challenging a Triple? Is this a fair challenge?" Wang Yi retorted without holding back. Although he was furious, he wasn't foolish; given his current strength, he clearly wasn't Wang Zhou's opponent. Engaging with him now would only lead to trouble.
"You..." Wang Zhou pointed at Wang Yi, speechless with anger.
"Hmph, Wang Yi, if that's the case, let me challenge you," Tall Youth jumped out eagerly, pointing at Wang Yi and shouting.
"You?" Wang Yi shook his head and said, "You're not worthy."
"What? This makes me furious!" Tall Youth thought to himself that he was also a Triple warrior. Hearing Wang Yi's words made him so angry that his nose flared. He let out a loud roar and immediately unleashed all his Vital Energy, throwing a punch at Wang Yi. The punch was fierce and without doubt; it would knock Wang Yi to the ground.
Wang Zhou and the others did not stop him; they also wanted to see Wang Yi's true strength. However, the result left them greatly disappointed. Before they could even blink, they heard a sound as a figure flew backward like a kite with its string cut, landing on the ground behind them. When they turned around and exchanged glances, they all saw the surprise in each other's eyes.
With just one strike, he defeated an opponent of the same level. It seemed that Wang Yi was even stronger than before.
"Hmph, how bold! Wang Yi, you dare to beat your junior brother for no reason," an Elite Disciple coldly snorted.
"What? Do you want to bully the weak with numbers?" Wang Yi replied.
Upon hearing this, Wang Zhou and the others were taken aback; they didn't expect Wang Yi to accurately guess their thoughts. Their faces instantly turned awkward.
"Wang Yi, Wang Zhou is at Transcendence Level Six. You know you're not his opponent; that's why you refuse Brother Wang's challenge." A young man stepped forward and said firmly, "Do you dare accept my challenge?"
"I dare not; you know it's hard to guard against people," Wang Yi shook his head and sighed.
The others did not get angry upon hearing this, but Wang Zhou was furious and declared loudly: "Today's challenges are private matters. If anyone dares to report this, they will face dire consequences."
"Alright." Wang Yi also wanted to know his own strength; this person was at the Fourth Transcendence Level, just right for a test.
"Since Wang Zhou has done this, we will not spread it outside." This person nodded and said, "Wang Yi, let me see what kind of proud methods you have that made you refuse to join Brother Zhao." He thought to himself, "I am at Transcendence Level Four, a whole level above Wang Yi; I can surely defeat him."
Before the words fell, the young man stepped forward with his right foot, leaping out and striking with a palm. Wang Yi was quick-witted and, with a surge of Vital Energy within him, also struck out with a palm.
The two palms met with a loud clap, causing the yellow leaves that had fallen from the treetops to turn to dust in the wind. Suddenly, both of them were sent flying backward almost simultaneously.
Wang Yi smiled as he looked at this person. The White-Clad Youth glanced at Wang Yi in surprise and then looked down to see that his palm had turned red. Feeling embarrassed, he summoned a flash of golden light in his right hand and shouted loudly as a sharp Blade Qi tore through the air toward Wang Yi; this was the Chiyang Blade.
The golden light reflecting off the blade made Wang Yi squint. The air became suffused with a chilling aura of killing intent, making it even colder. In the next moment, the Blade Qi was already approaching.
Wang Yi shouted lowly and struck out with both fists. Instantly, three fist shadows as thick as bowls broke through the air, producing a continuous clanging sound like a tidal wave. The White-Clad Youth was startled; his blade shook violently as all his Vital Energy surged to its peak state.
Tilting his body, he spun around and slashed back at Wang Yi's neck. Wang Yi's eyes flashed with brilliance as he leaned back. The White-Clad Youth saw this and revealed a hint of joy on his face, suddenly charging forward. However, he felt an immense force descend upon his blade; Wang Yi's body moved like a dragon horse, pouring all his strength down from his fists.
The White-Clad Youth was forced into a cold sweat by Wang Yi's pressure; the Chiyang Blade felt like it weighed ten thousand pounds and could not be brought down no matter what. His gaze toward Wang Yi was now filled with shock.
"Let's end this." Wang Yi said lightly as he poured all his strength into the blade again. The White-Clad Youth could no longer hold on; he trembled as if struck by lightning and flew backward, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
"What? Li Shidi, are you alright?" One person saw that the White-Clad Youth's face had turned pale and hurriedly helped him up. He then glared angrily at Wang Yi and said, "Wang Yi, how could you be so ruthless?"
"Hmph, if I were truly ruthless, he wouldn't have only sustained such light injuries." Wang Yi snorted coldly, thinking: It seems that my body has been tempered again and is much stronger than before; it would have been difficult to win with my previous physical strength.
"It seems that Wang Shidi's strength has surpassed before!" Wang Zhou observed everything and dared not underestimate Wang Yi any longer; he smiled broadly.
"Brother Wang is too polite." Wang Yi replied, "I wonder if I can leave now."
The Tall Youth and the injured young man had already realized Wang Yi's prowess and did not dare to obstruct him. However, a pale-faced young man standing beside Wang Zhou stepped forward and said, "Step aside."
"Transcendence Level Five." Wang Yi recognized this person's level. Now he understood roughly what his own strength was; within Kaiyang Sect, there were no opponents at the same level. As for those at Level Four, it would be hard to find someone to fight against. However, Level Five was uncertain since there was still a two-level gap between them; he did not feel confident enough.
"Wang Yi, do you dare to fight me?" The Pale-Faced Youth pointed his finger at Wang Yi. Wang Yi had just defeated two opponents and was filled with anger. The Pale-Faced Youth decided to teach Wang Yi a lesson, making him understand that there are always stronger opponents.
Wang Yi glanced at the White-Faced Youth but remained silent, which only fueled the White-Faced Youth's arrogance. He was certain that after two battles, Wang Yi's Vital Energy must be depleted and he would be unable to fight again. The White-Clad Youth pondered for a moment and said, "Hmph, Wang Yi, you are nothing but a bully who fears the strong. Are you afraid of me, which is why you dare not fight?"
"How about this? I will give you three moves," the White-Faced Youth declared with high spirits.
"Senior Brother, forget it. Wang Yi is no match for you; I don't think it's necessary to compete. Even if he fights you, he will only be asking for trouble," the injured youth could not swallow his pride and spoke out.
"Exactly, Senior Brother, you are magnanimous; just let him go," the Tall Youth seized the opportunity to add fuel to the fire.
"Well, you all..." The White-Faced Youth saw their smug expressions and nodded in agreement.
"Fine, I will fight you," Wang Yi said after a moment of thought, calmly.
"Good, good, very good." The Pale-Faced Youth was overjoyed upon hearing this and arrogantly stated, "Wang Yi, today I will let you know that it's better to be honest in life."
"Senior Brother, give him a good beating."
"Yes, let him know that those without strength should be more honest."
"Alright, everyone step aside." Wang Zhou pondered for a moment before stepping aside to clear a space for Wang Yi and the Pale-Faced Youth.
