"Brother Chu, you should leave. I will handle this matter," Wang Yi did not expect Chu Yixuan to respond this way, but seeing Zhou Yu's face filled with killing intent, he knew he could not escape.
"Kill," Zhou Yu said sharply.
The Black-Clad Warriors simultaneously swung their blades, and dozens of Blade Qi slashed toward Lin Chao and the others, making them extremely tense as they immediately raised their weapons to block.
The incessant sounds of Gold Iron clashing echoed, and the air was filled with dense Blade Light shadows, making one feel a chill in their heart.
Wang Yi threw a punch, and six fist shadows broke through the air to attack, creating a loud whooshing sound. Each fist shadow felt as if a real fist had struck the three Black-Clad Warriors.
Screams and cries of pain erupted. Niu Meng struck out with both fists, and suddenly two black shadows appeared in the sky, leaving two arcs in the air. With two loud thuds, two Black-Clad Warriors spat out blood.
"Chu Yixuan, are you really going to oppose me?" Zhou Yu said coldly.
"Of course not, but he is a disciple of Kaiyang Sect. You should think carefully before trying to kill him," Chu Yixuan replied.
"Hmph, don't use Kaiyang Sect to scare me. I, Zhou Yu, am not afraid," Zhou Yu roared fiercely: "Get out of the way!" His body leaped forward like a slippery fish and instantly squeezed into the battle group. His palm was like a knife, sharp and unmatched, as he shouted at Wang Yi: "You will die!"
Wang Yi was startled and pushed back the black-clad man in front of him with one palm. Suddenly, an immense force pressed down on him; he swung his hand to block it. With a loud crash, it felt as if his arm had struck against Gold Iron, causing him great pain as he staggered backward.
Seeing Wang Yi being pushed back, Niu Meng's face turned anxious but was surrounded by three Black-Clad Warriors and could not break free for a moment.
Zhou Yu chuckled and said, "This time I want to see who can save you." With that, his palm carried a cold wind as it struck toward Wang Yi's chest at an incredible speed, leaving Wang Yi no chance to evade.
Wang Yi shouted loudly; his Vital Energy had reached its peak state. He concentrated his arm and executed Pushing Cloud Palm with one strike. The air hissed sharply, sounding extremely piercing to the ears.
"Bang bang."
Two loud sounds echoed as the overwhelming energy of Vital Energy exploded rapidly under immense pressure, rippling outward like water waves centered around the two individuals. Dust was lifted from the ground by the strong wind, and the air turned gray, obscuring any visible figures.
"Trying to escape." Zhou Yu flicked his sleeve, his gaze clear, and saw Wang Yi rushing out. With a fierce shout, he dashed forward, thrusting his right palm ahead to strike down on Wang Yi's back.
Wang Yi, sharp-eared and keen-eyed, heard the sound of the palm wind clearly behind him. Without turning around, he countered with a backhand strike. With a loud bang, Zhou Yu's powerful force pressed down with a fierce palm wind aimed at the back of Wang Yi's head. There was no doubt that if Wang Yi could not evade it, his head would be smashed to pieces, resulting in instant death.
Wang Yi sensed the deadly intent and suddenly leaped high like a carp jumping out of water. Zhou Yu's palm wind struck nothing but air. Furious, he was about to pursue Wang Yi when he suddenly saw a figure blocking his path.
"Chu Yixuan, you are seeking death," Zhou Yu shouted angrily. He flipped his palm, and sword light flashed as he thrust forward with deadly speed, faster than lightning.
Wang Yi focused intently, spreading his palms wide as Transforming Cloud Palm flowed out like clouds in the sky, rushing toward Zhou Yu.
Zhou Yu laughed heartily, spinning his body as his treasured sword danced along with him. Instantly, a dense curtain of sword light surrounded him, slicing through the air with such ferocity that it seemed to shatter everything in its path.
Chu Yixuan and Wang Yi both retreated simultaneously; this sword technique was too powerful to withstand directly.
At this moment, Lin Chao and others had already defeated all the Black-Clad Warriors. The ground was filled with cries of anguish, and the dark earth was stained red with blood. A cold wind blew over the blood, as if trying to lift it up and dye the sky crimson.
"Waste." Zhou Yu surveyed the scene and saw that all ten or so Black-Clad Warriors he had brought were lying on the ground. His expression darkened ominously.
"Zhou Yu, you should give up; I have guaranteed Wang Yi's safety," Chu Yixuan said sharply, even his usually gentle demeanor showing signs of coldness.
"Not a chance! Today I will not kill him; I swear I will not be human," Zhou Yu declared coldly as he fixed his gaze on Wang Yi. With his sword light swirling, he pushed off the ground and shot forward like lightning.
Suddenly, the sound of hooves echoed, shaking the ground as dust flew into the air.
"Stop."
Five riders rushed over, and a slightly charming voice rang out, soft and gentle like spring rain, enchanting to the ears.
Zhou Yu trembled at the sound of this alluring voice, excitement flooding his pale face. He turned to look back, his gaze filled with heat, and said, "Xue Er."
A stunning woman with a graceful figure, eyes like autumn water, and lips like fire walked towards him from not far away. Her steps were light, captivating all who beheld her.
"Zhou Yu, I have no relationship with him. Why do you want to kill him?" Zhao Ruixue's face was cold as frost, her voice icy. Her rose-red lips parted like a blooming flower, a hint of anger flushing her exquisite face.
"Xue Er, this man deserves to die. In this world, no one but me can like you," Zhou Yu said coldly, staring at Wang Yi.
"Hmph, let him go. I have no feelings for him," Zhao Ruixue said emotionlessly after casting a glance at Wang Yi.
"Xue Er, since you don't like him, why shouldn't I kill him?" Zhou Yu sneered.
"If you kill him, you will never see me again," Zhao Ruixue replied with a cold gaze before swaying away.
"Sister?" Li Dawang sighed after glancing at Wang Yi and followed her.
"Child, remember not to let me see you again!" Zhou Yu understood Zhao Ruixue's character well and had no choice but to relent. He pointed at Wang Yi and said coldly, "Otherwise, even if you hide at the ends of the earth, I will make sure you meet a terrible fate!" With that, he sheathed his sword and chased after her.
"Big Brother, are you okay?"
At this moment, a girl around sixteen or seventeen years old dismounted and ran towards Chu Yixuan. Her lively eyes were fixed on him as she affectionately linked her arm with his and called out. The girl had a slender figure, with her long hair tied back, flowing gracefully in the wind. Her bright eyes and white teeth complemented her face, which was adorned with an innocent smile. In the cold wind, she appeared as lively and beautiful as a sprite.
"Sister, how did you get here?" Chu Yixuan affectionately patted the girl's head, surprised.
"Hehe, I came with Sister Zhao," the girl playfully stuck out her rosy tongue at Chu Yixuan and giggled.
"Come, let me introduce you. This is my sister, Chu Wanqing." Seeing that the atmosphere was somewhat heavy due to recent events, Chu Yixuan smiled.
Wang Yi gazed at the figure disappearing into the wind, feeling a hint of bitterness rise in his heart for some unknown reason, as if something was stabbing at his heart, leaving him speechless for a long time. It seemed he had always been overly sentimental; he and her were merely a mistaken encounter from the beginning. She had only seen him as someone to confide in.
"Big Brother," Niu Meng said with concern.
"I'm fine," Wang Yi sighed and forced a smile.
"Wang Yi, you..." Lin Chao was about to ask Wang Yi how he knew Zhou Yu when he noticed Chu Yixuan signaling him with his eyes. He opened his mouth but said nothing more.
"Thank you very much, Brother Chu and all the senior brothers," Wang Yi mustered his spirits and clasped his fists in salute. "I will remember today's events and repay you all in the future."
Seeing Wang Yi so serious, Lin Chao and the others waved their hands dismissively. "We are all brothers; there's no need to be so formal."
"Hehe, you're Wang Yi, right? How do you know Sister Zhao?" Chu Wanqing raised her fair chin, her eyes sparkling as if they could speak.
"Alright, Qing'er," Chu Yixuan quickly interjected when he noticed Wang Yi's expression change slightly.
"It's nothing; I only met Sister Zhao once," Wang Yi replied.
"Oh... really?" Xiao Wanqing's voice dragged out the word "oh," her smiling face clearly expressing disbelief in Wang Yi's words.
"Sister, what brings you here?" Chu Yixuan felt annoyed at his sister but didn't want to say it directly, so he changed the subject and asked.
Chu Wanqing's laughter rang out like a cheerful bird. "Father is here to inspect as well."
"Oh, Father has come." Chu Yixuan paused for a moment, glanced around, and asked, "I wonder if any of the junior brothers still have matters to attend to?"
"Brother Chu, I will take my leave now," Wang Yi said with a heavy expression, cupping his fists.
"Alright, since that's the case, let's bid farewell here!" Chu Yixuan smiled gently and then said seriously, "Wang Yi, Zhou Yu and Sister Zhao grew up together; he loves Sister Zhao very much..."
"I know," Wang Yi replied with a self-deprecating smile.
"Brother Chu, my brother and I will head back to the Sect now," Niu Meng said, noticing Wang Yi's distracted state and feeling worried.
Wang Yi and Niu Meng mounted their horses and called out before riding off in a cloud of dust.
"Hmph, is this person really so rude?" Chu Wanqing wrinkled her delicate nose.
"Alright, let's go too!" Chu Yixuan said as he withdrew his gaze from the receding figures of Wang Yi and Niu Meng.
Kaiyang Sect.
Wang Yi sat cross-legged on his bed, took out the Qi Gathering Pill he had just received, and placed them all around him. The air was rich with Spiritual Energy. He slowly closed his eyes, focused his mind, and began to circulate the Vital Energy within his body.
A great week later, all of Wang Yi's Vital Energy had reached its peak state, with every pore fully opened. Wang Yi suddenly let out a light shout, and dozens of Qi Gathering Pills immediately made a soft sound as they turned to ash, their essence of Vital Energy completely absorbed into his body.
Inside, it felt as if a storm was brewing before the rain, surging and overwhelming. Wang Yi focused his breath and began to circulate the rich Vital Energy towards Sevenfold.
After a while, wisps of white smoke emerged from his body. In the Dantian, the Vital Energy was like chaos, merging and compressing together. As time slowly passed, it formed a ball of Vital Energy. With a sudden light sound, the ball transformed rapidly but became even more refined, and his originally hot body gradually cooled down.
"Transcendence of the Seven Realms."
Wang Yi opened his eyes, spread his palms, and slightly adjusted the Vital Energy within him. He immediately felt that his overall energy had significantly increased. With the effect of the Mysterious Pearl, he could now challenge Transcendence of the Ninth Layer without hesitation.
Zhao Ruixue had been deliberately forgotten by Wang Yi. He understood the gap between them in his heart; how could a powerful and graceful Stunning Woman fall for an unknown individual?
Now, Wang Yi had only one goal: to diligently cultivate and become an Inner Sect Disciple!
As autumn slowly passed, time had entered early winter. Outside the window fell fine white snowflakes like drifting cotton.
As he stepped out of his room on the first day of winter, a cold wind hit him in the face. The sound of rustling trees swayed by the cold breeze filled his ears. The breath he exhaled turned into white mist, and he saw that the courtyard was covered with a few snowflakes that had yet to melt; stepping on them turned them into damp rainwater.
