Wang Yi pondered for a moment, floating on the mountainside, his gaze sweeping through the mountains like lightning.
"Let me handle this," Fire Spirit said in a deep voice, and immediately, Wang Yi felt a powerful Soul Power manifesting within his Sea of Consciousness.
A cup of tea's time passed.
"I found it," Fire Spirit said solemnly. "Let's go."
In the next moment, Wang Yi appeared at a lower part of the mountainside and looked up to see a Cave before him.
This Cave was only about ten feet wide, appearing pitch black from the outside, surrounded by bare rocks, but there was a long path leading directly into the Cave.
Seeing this, Wang Yi immediately sent a message to Lian Bi: "I found it."
After a few breaths, Lian Bi arrived beside Wang Yi.
"Let's go," Wang Yi said with a glint in his eyes. "The Demon should be inside; be careful."
Lian Bi nodded, not daring to look around, and followed closely behind Wang Yi, turning into a streak of light as they entered the Cave.
The two felt darkness envelop them for a moment, then the light gradually softened. They saw that this was a green-glowing Cave, with shimmering walls and a winding path beneath their feet that seemed to lead deep into the mountain. The surroundings were silent, with a faint cold wind blowing from within the Cave.
"Although the aura of this Demon is quite weak, it is indeed the aura of a Demon," Fire Spirit said solemnly. "Prince, be cautious. If I am not mistaken, there should be a Demon Lord-level Demon inside."
Upon hearing this, Wang Yi fell silent for a moment as he walked ahead, with Lian Bi closely following him.
After less than a cup of tea's time, the air inside the Cave grew colder and colder, while the chill intensified.
"Who goes there?"
Suddenly, as Wang Yi and the others turned down a path, a voice filled with caution rang out.
"Thud."
A flicker of ghostly light flashed, followed by two soft thuds, and then the cave returned to silence.
"Indeed, they are humans who have been demonized."
Wang Yi stepped forward and saw two bodies lying on the ground, dressed in black robes. Upon closer inspection, his expression changed slightly. He noticed that both corpses had several bulging veins on their foreheads, green glowing pupils, and purple lips. The eerie green light cast over the bodies made them appear exceptionally terrifying.
"Demon." Lian Bi gasped, his eyes suddenly radiating an astonishing light.
"Thud thud thud..."
At that moment, heavy footsteps echoed, and a line of black-robed figures appeared in the path. Leading them was a bald man clad in Vine Armor, wielding a Cutter in his hand. He looked extremely fierce as he asked, "I am Li Feng, Demon General. Humans, who are you to dare intrude upon the Demon Lord's palace?"
"Demon General."
Wang Yi looked at the bald man before him; a Demon General was equivalent to a Profound Realm Warrior.
"Kill them." Li Feng waved his hand.
"Attack."
Wang Yi coldly looked at the half-demonized humans in front of him and said in a chilling voice.
"Thud, thud, thud..."
Lian Bi swung the Death Scythe in his hand, like the judgment of the Gods, and the heads of these Demons fell to the ground like watermelons rolling away.
"Damn it, you dare to invade the noble Demon Lord; you all must die," Demon General Li Fenghan said, raising his Cutter to strike.
"Thud."
Lian Bi leaped forward, and the Death Scythe struck the center of Li Fenghan's forehead, black blood oozing out as his breath ceased.
"Let's go," Wang Yi waved his hand.
"Kill!"
Suddenly, dozens of Demons surged forward without warning.
A flash of sword light passed by, and then this batch of Demons turned to ashes.
At that moment, a bright light appeared ahead, revealing a grand hall before them.
This hall was about a hundred feet wide, with green flames lit on both sides. Above it was a Black Throne, exuding a chilling aura.
"Rumbling!"
Suddenly, at that moment, the Cave shook violently, and stones from the walls fell down as if it were about to collapse.
"Not good, we need to leave now," Wang Yi said with a change in expression.
Lian Bi did not dare to hesitate and immediately withdrew Cui Gu's entire body of Primordial Energy from the Cave.
"Whoosh! Whoosh!"
Two streaks of light rushed out from the Cave. Just then, a rumbling sound echoed behind them. Looking back, they saw the mountain peak collapse with a thunderous roar, thick smoke billowing up.
"The air has the aura of a Demon Lord-level Demon," Fire Spirit suddenly said.
"Where?" Wang Yi asked.
"It has already left. It seems this Demon Lord is not simple; it is more difficult to deal with than an ordinary Demon, like a cunning rabbit with three burrows," Fire Spirit said solemnly.
"Can we still find it?" Wang Yi asked.
"It will be difficult to trace their whereabouts in the short term. After all, Demons above the Demon Lord level possess a significant degree of intelligence," Fire Spirit replied. "Since it fled in advance, I suspect this demonic force is not strong enough. Perhaps the strongest Demon is this Demon Lord; otherwise, it would have the power to occupy Song Kingdom or even the entire Eastern Lin."
"What should we do then? Should we just let this demonic force grow?" Wang Yi said unwillingly.
"This matter is beyond your individual strength. The emergence of the demon race was only a matter of time; Yuan Continent cannot compare to this calamity," Fire Spirit said with a heavy tone. "What you need to do is to elevate your cultivation to Gaze of the Abyss as soon as possible."
"Understood." Wang Yi nodded.
"Whoosh!"
At that moment, two sounds of breaking wind suddenly echoed from the side.
"Zhao Kuangyin," Lian Bi said calmly as he looked at the newcomers.
The two individuals were indeed Zhao Kuangyin and the Gray-Robed Elder.
"Wang Yi, my friend, I am honored to meet you," Zhao Kuangyin said with a smile, cupping his hands in greeting.
"What brings Zhao Huang here?" Wang Yi asked.
"I have come to inform you of something important, my friend Wang Yi," Zhao Kuangyin replied with a grin.
"What is it?" Wang Yi inquired.
"This is not a suitable place for conversation. Would you be interested in visiting the palace? I can explain everything there," Zhao Kuangyin suggested with a smile.
"Why should I trust you?" Wang Yi asked coldly.
Upon hearing this, Zhao Kuangyin's expression changed slightly, but he quickly regained his composure and said slowly, "I know about your wife, Zhao Ruixue."
"Lead the way," Wang Yi said, his expression tightening as he waved his hand.
"Zhao Kuangyin, I hope you do not deceive the young master; otherwise, your reign as Song Emperor will not last long," Lian Bi warned coldly.
“Lian, you are still the same as always, but rest assured, I will not deceive my friend Wang Yi,” Zhao Kuangyin said.
The group fell silent.
Half an hour later, the capital appeared beneath them, a large complex of buildings shining with gold and jade, magnificent and grand.
“Please.”
Zhao Kuangyin waved his hand, his figure unfolding as he landed in one of the great halls of the palace.
Wang Yi and Lian Bi followed closely behind, entering the hall.
“Friend Wang Yi, please take a seat,” Zhao Kuangyin said as he sat at the head of the table, gesturing for them to sit.
“I hope every word you say is true. If you deceive me, you know the consequences,” Wang Yi said, staring at Zhao Kuangyin with sharp eyes that seemed to pierce through him, speaking coldly.
“I do indeed know about Miss Zhao Ruixue and where she is,” Zhao Kuangyin replied calmly.
“Really?” Wang Yi suddenly stood up and asked, “Where is she?”
After a pause, Wang Yi glanced at Zhao Kuangyin, slowly sat back down, and returned to a calm expression. “So, what are your conditions?”
“Good, friend Wang Yi is indeed straightforward. I do have something I would like to ask for your assistance with,” Zhao Kuangyin said with a pleased expression before continuing slowly. “Three days ago, the Jin Kingdom gathered nearly five million troops at the border but has surrounded without attacking, causing panic within the country. Yesterday, I mobilized three million troops to the border to stabilize the situation.”
After a moment's pause, Zhao Kuangyin continued: “Today, the Emperor of Jin Kingdom, Wanyan Honglie, sent a letter stating that he has dispatched General Wanyan Sheng to Song Kingdom to challenge the young martial artists of Song Kingdom. If we do not agree, they will attack in two days.”
"What does this have to do with me?" Wang Yi's gaze flickered as he asked.
"The younger generation of the Jin Kingdom has three individuals who are truly rare talents in a millennium, all of whom are Breakthrough Experts with considerable strength. However, in my Song Kingdom, the only ones with such cultivation are Feng Shen Yu from the Ziyang Sect, Ling Yao from the Canglan Sect, and my daughter Zhao Ling. But the Canglan Sect has already been destroyed by my brother, and Ling Yao has disappeared. Therefore, I would like to ask Wang Yi to represent the Song Kingdom in battle," Zhao Kuangyin hesitated and said. "Wanyan Honglie mentioned that if the Jin Kingdom wins by chance, Princess Zhao must marry into the Jin Kingdom."
"Brother Wang, as long as you agree to represent the Song Kingdom in the competition, I will tell you the news about Zhao Ruixue," Zhao Kuangyin said.
"Are you threatening me?" Wang Yi coldly looked at Zhao Kuangyin and said in a chilling voice, "I could kill you right now and still find out."
Before he finished speaking, a Gray-Clad Man immediately stood in front of Zhao Kuangyin and said in a hoarse voice, "Your Majesty, you must kill me first."
"Chen Gonggong, you may step back for now," Zhao Kuangyin waved his hand and then turned to Wang Yi with a bitter smile, saying, "Please forgive me, brother Wang; I am also forced into this situation."
"I agree to your request," Wang Yi coldly looked at Zhao Kuangyin and nodded.
"Good, this is truly wonderful. With brother Wang's involvement, the Jin Kingdom's thieves will surely not succeed," Zhao Kuangyin said joyfully.
After a pause, Zhao Kuangyin continued, "Zhao Ruixue is currently in Hada City of the Jin Kingdom. If brother Wang wishes to see Zhao Ruixue, I will immediately arrange for someone to secretly escort her back to the Song Kingdom."
"That would be very helpful from Zhao Huang," Wang Yi said with great delight.
"As long as brother Wang does not take offense," Zhao Kuangyin finished and waved his hand. "Chen Gonggong, you immediately send a message to have them escort Miss Zhao Ruixue and her family back to the Song Kingdom."
"Yes," Chen Gonggong replied respectfully.
"I wonder when the people from the Jin Kingdom will arrive?" Wang Yi pondered for a moment before asking.
"Two days later," Zhao Kuangyin said.
"Mm," Wang Yi nodded.
The next day, Zhao Kuangyin sent someone to inform Wang Yi that Zhao Ruixue had arrived in the capital.
Wang Yi was overjoyed and immediately went to the Jade Sun Palace with Lian Bi.
Looking up, he saw a graceful figure standing there, her beautiful hair cascading down like a silver waterfall. With delicate brows shaped like a crescent moon and mysterious starry eyes, her charming nose and blushing cheeks, along with lips like flowers and a face as radiant as jade, her smooth skin was as soft as snow. Her figure was stunningly beautiful, a true vision of loveliness. It was none other than Zhao Ruixue.
"Xue Er," Wang Yi softly called out.
Upon hearing this familiar yet strange call, the enchanting lady in the hall couldn't help but tremble slightly. She slowly turned around to look at Wang Yi, her beautiful eyes sparkling with surprise. As she called out Wang Yi's name, she gracefully moved towards him.
Seeing the approaching beauty, Wang Yi's eyes were filled with affection as he stepped forward to meet her. Then, the two embraced tightly. Breathing in the familiar fragrance that lingered in his nostrils, Wang Yi took a deep breath and gently kissed the lady's earlobe, murmuring, "I'm glad you're okay."
"Wang Yi," Zhao Ruixue said, her jade-like cheeks flushing red. With Wang Yi's kiss, even her fair neck turned crimson. Her beautiful eyes sparkled like a clear pond, almost overflowing with emotion.
Slowly releasing the lady from his embrace, he held her hand and said to Zhao Kuangyin, "Thank you, Zhao Huang."
