"As for all of this now, it was forced upon me by you all. After all, no one wants to be a murderer," Wang Yi shrugged, looking innocent.
"What, Young Master is dead?"
The three Purple-Clad Men exchanged glances, each seeing the shock in the others' eyes.
"That's right, I killed him," Wang Yi said with a calm smile, admitting it openly.
"You..." One of the Purple-Clad Men pointed at Wang Yi, wanting to say something, but upon seeing the coldness in Wang Yi's eyes, he stammered and fell silent.
"Am I supposed to die?" Wang Yi said coldly. "All of this was forced upon me by you."
"Kill!" one of the Purple-Clad Men shouted fiercely.
"Die!"
Wang Yi let out a low shout, swinging his Sword of Slaughter. With the Slaughter Sword Technique, there were three sounds of 'pu pu pu,' and three jets of blood erupted from the three Purple-Clad Men, staining the air red, their breaths gone.
"Hehe, Luo Sect, today is the day your sect is destroyed."
At this moment, Wang Yi felt an immense sense of relief. Throughout his journey, he had experienced three assassination attempts: first for Zhou Yu, second for Zhou Mengling, and third for Meng Hang. Each time they had forced him into a dead end, making him flee from Song Kingdom in embarrassment. He had worked hard to cultivate and returned home for revenge. This time, facing a force even stronger than Zhou Yu, Zhou Mengling, and Meng Hang, he no longer fled in disgrace.
Because he had gained the strength to reverse his role from being hunted to becoming the hunter; all of this was due to his newfound power.
"Whoosh!"
Wang Yi transformed into a long rainbow and shot straight towards Luo Sect.
Before long, Wang Yi appeared atop a towering mountain.
This mountain stood about a thousand feet high, with dense trees providing shade and lush greenery. Atop the mountain were red walls and white tiles, with clusters of buildings and countless pavilions and towers. Streams flowed under bridges, creating a picturesque scene reminiscent of an otherworldly paradise.
Among them, one grand hall was particularly eye-catching—majestic and spectacular. In front of the hall was a plaza that measured a hundred feet across.
"Luo Sect." Wang Yi stood in the void, his clothes rustling fiercely, his eyes shining brightly as he murmured. He transformed into a streak of light and vanished, heading towards the great hall.
In the blink of an eye, Wang Yi arrived outside the great hall, where a stone staircase extended upward.
Looking around, Wang Yi exclaimed in surprise, only to find that there was not a single person in sight, the silence was terrifying.
"You need not look; our sect has already dispersed all disciples." Just as Wang Yi was puzzled, an ancient voice suddenly echoed from within the hall.
"Who?" Wang Yi paused upon hearing the ancient voice, turned his gaze towards the hall, and moved inside.
Inside the hall, a White-Bearded Elder sat cross-legged on a gray Cushion. This White-Bearded Elder had a majestic stature and an extraordinary appearance, with white brows and bright eyes. Upon seeing Wang Yi approaching, he lifted his eyelids and said, "I had long anticipated this day; I just did not expect that this calamity would arise because of a sinful child." The White-Bearded Elder sighed deeply.
"You... you are Luo Sect's master Xuanxinzi?" Wang Yi pointed at the White-Bearded Elder, astonished.
"Indeed, it is I," the White-Bearded Elder nodded.
Upon receiving the response from the White-Bearded Elder, Wang Yi's expression changed slightly as he shook his head and said, "Impossible. Xuan You is barely thirty; how could you be his father?"
"In truth, half a year ago, our sect was not in this state, but it has come to this because of you," Xuanxinzi replied.
"What do you mean for me? And from what you just said, it seems you anticipated my arrival?" Wang Yi asked in shock. His heart stirred with turmoil; if that were true, then this Xuanxinzi was truly terrifying.
"No, I did not anticipate your coming here; I only foresaw the destruction of our Luo Sect today," Xuanxinzi shook his head and slowly said, "Three years ago, I had already foreseen today's events but could not determine the cause. Everyone was accounted for except for the sinful child."
At this point, Xuanxinzi sighed deeply and said, "I once thought our Luo Sect could escape this calamity; I did not expect that we ultimately could not change our fate."
"Hmph, since you already know this, why did you still allow Xuan You to commit wrongdoing?" Wang Yi snorted coldly.
"The love for one's child is universal; how much more so for an old man like me?" Xuanxinzi gazed intently and sighed, "Your name is Wang Yi, correct?"
Before Wang Yi could respond, Xuanxinzi smiled and waved his hand, saying: "You need not be surprised that I know your name. Just know that today is the day of our Luo Sect's destruction and also your day of calamity. Heed my words and leave quickly; otherwise, you will face life and death."
"Hmph, Wang Yi never believes in fate. You need not advise me. I have been hunted three times before and lived in fear every day; only this time can I act against it." Wang Yi's expression turned fierce as he said: "If you are willing to take your own life here, I will leave immediately."
“Ha ha ha…” Xuanxinzi laughed heartily, looking at Wang Yi, standing up slowly and saying, “Wang Yi, if you do not heed my words, you will undoubtedly die.”
“Then I will kill you first,” Wang Yi replied coldly.
“There is still time for a cup of tea before that person arrives. By then, if you wish to leave, it will be too late,” Xuanxinzi said calmly.
“A cup of tea is enough,” Wang Yi frowned. There was something strange about Xuanxinzi; his gaze flickered. He stepped forward and struck out with his palm, unleashing an unmatched gust of wind toward Xuanxinzi's chest.
“I do not know how you possess such strength, but it is far from enough to kill me,” Xuanxinzi said, waving his large sleeve. A wave of white energy surged like a tide toward Wang Yi.
Wang Yi moved swiftly, shattering the energy wave with a palm strike. A glint of killing intent flashed in his eyes as he threw a punch. Unexpectedly, Xuanxinzi did not dodge; instead, he slowly raised his palm and struck back. In an instant, the two forces collided with a loud bang, creating shockwaves that spread outward like ripples on a lake.
“Indeed, he is at the Late Stage of Insight,” Wang Yi thought to himself as he stared at Xuanxinzi.
“You are merely at the Late Stage of Insight, yet your true strength is no less than that of the Initial Stage of Insight, am I correct?” Xuanxinzi asked with an inscrutable expression.
“Correct,” Wang Yi replied, a hint of irritation flashing across his face. An unbidden feeling of restlessness arose in his heart as he thought: “This person must not be left alive.”
“That power you possess, Spiritual Energy Essence, is the most refined energy I have ever seen. If I am not mistaken, it should be Spirit Fire,” Xuanxinzi said with an indifferent expression and calm voice, as if everything was under his control.
“What?” Wang Yi exclaimed in surprise.
“I know everything about you, so you cannot kill me. Leave quickly,” Xuanxinzi commanded.
“Stop pretending to be mysterious,” Wang Yi shouted angrily. With a swish, the Sword of Slaughter appeared in his hand, slicing through the air as he aimed it at Xuanxinzi.
“The divine weapon Sword of Slaughter from the Killing God Emperor,” Xuanxinzi glanced at the Sword of Slaughter in Wang Yi's hand and said nonchalantly, “It truly is an unparalleled divine weapon. It is said that this sword was forged by the Killing God Emperor using millions of lives; its mere killing intent can slay any strong warrior from the Void-Viewing Three Realms. Yet in your hands, it seems far from such power. It appears your strength is too weak.”
“Die!” Upon hearing this, Wang Yi's pupils constricted. He wielded the Sword of Slaughter and was invincible; it was precisely because he had obtained the Sword of Slaughter that his cultivation had truly improved. Yet no one recognized the Sword of Slaughter until now when this Xuanxinzi revealed its origins. It seemed he understood the Sword of Slaughter better than Wang Yi himself, which was truly terrifying.
“I have only seen its origins in an ancient text,” Xuanxinzi said calmly.
"Ring!"
The Sword of Slaughter was swung out, aimed at Xuanxinzi's face.
However, Xuanxinzi remained unfazed, slowly extending his index and middle fingers, gently pinching the Sword of Slaughter between them, producing a clear sound of the sword ringing.
"Even with such an extraordinary sword, you cannot kill me. You have only half a cup of tea's time left; retreat quickly, or you will surely die," Xuanxinzi shook his head and said leisurely.
"Jiuyang, merge!" Wang Yi shouted loudly, and with a slash of the Sword of Slaughter, he forced Xuanxinzi back two yards.
"Yes, boss," Jiuyang replied.
In the moment Jiuyang merged with him, Wang Yi felt as if he were engulfed in flames, his face turning bright red.
"You can predict everything; did you ever foresee that you would die at my hands today?" Wang Yi said coldly.
Before his words fell, an immense wave of energy radiated from Wang Yi, terrifying like a vast ocean, comparable to the Late Stage of Insight.
"What? This is impossible?" Xuanxinzi exclaimed in shock upon sensing Wang Yi's momentum. "How can there be two types of fire within you?"
"Hmph, now you finally didn't see this coming?" Wang Yi sneered coldly, as the Primordial Energy surged within him. With a slash of his sword, the Sword of Slaughter flew forth with a thick aura of killing intent towards Xuanxinzi.
"Damn it! Two types of fire together? How are you still alive? And you've fused them together!" Xuanxinzi's mind was filled with dread; at that moment, the calm expression on his face vanished without a trace, replaced by sheer terror. Nevertheless, his movements did not falter; he pointed his index finger at the Sword of Slaughter and with a clang, sparks flew out.
"Die!" Wang Yi roared angrily as he charged forward rapidly towards Xuanxinzi. With the Slaughter Sword Technique in mind, he shouted loudly; with a whoosh, the Slaughtering Sword Qi shot out directly at Xuanxinzi's head.
"Barrier!"
Xuanxinzi howled as he drew an arc in front of him with his finger. Immediately, a milky-white barrier appeared to protect him.
However, at this moment, Wang Yi possessed strength comparable to the Late Stage of Insight. Coupled with the sharpness of the Slaughter Sword Technique, how could it be blocked? With a whoosh, it broke through the barrier and struck him. With a thud and a scream accompanying it, Xuanxinzi's body was split in half.
Wang Yi snorted coldly and was about to turn away when suddenly he felt an invisible and terrifying force enveloping him. His entire body immediately froze in place, unable to move an inch.
At the same time, both Spirit Fire and Nine Suns Blazing Fire were also imprisoned, unable to move at all.
"Could it be that Xuanxinzi did not deceive me?" Wang Yi suddenly thought in shock.
"It seems I have arrived late." At that moment, Wang Yi suddenly heard a plain voice coming from behind him.
"Who are you?" Wang Yi's face turned red; at this moment, he was unable to even circulate Primordial Energy, which illustrated the terrifying strength of the old man.
"I am Feng You. What is your name?"
"I am Wang Yi. May I ask, senior, why do you treat me this way when we have no enmity?"
"I recently need Spirit Fire for a certain elixir, so I wanted to borrow some from you."
"If you have such a need, I will do my utmost to assist you. Wouldn't it be beneath you to act otherwise?"
"You are sharp-tongued. Very well, I shall release you."
As soon as the words fell, Wang Yi immediately felt the oppressive force surrounding him vanish without a trace.
