They both ate quite a lot of delicious dishes, which were indeed very fragrant and crispy. However, they hardly drank much of the wine from the Celadon Pot, as they were too busy enjoying the tasty food! The Celadon Pot was similar to an ordinary ancient wine vessel, with a slender top and a somewhat round bottom, primarily designed to hold wine.
The entire bottle was a beautiful greenish-blue color, exuding an elegant charm that perfectly matched the unique temperament of a Scholar. Even the round-bottomed wine cups were made of celadon, which could be considered quite good drinking vessels.
The Wenxiang Tower was one of the few grand restaurants in Tokyo City, where the dishes were very expensive, and naturally, the drinking utensils were also quite noble. This set of celadon wine pot and cups was worth at least ten taels of Silver, specially crafted for this purpose. Ordinary restaurants did not possess such luxury; their wine pots and cups were merely white porcelain and very cheap.
After a hearty meal, Qin Feng noticed the celadon wine cup and pot; these were not ordinary porcelain but celadon! The green wine pot appeared exquisitely crafted, adorned with branches of plum blossoms, with petals seemingly fluttering upward as if stirred by a gentle breeze.
The two greenish-blue cups were also delicate, their surfaces looking very smooth and reflecting a greenish light that matched the Scholar's elegant demeanor. There was understated luxury in their appearance, blending sophistication with an air of refinement.
In that future world, for some unknown reason, this seemingly ordinary celadon was incredibly expensive—at least one hundred thousand for just one piece. This hundred thousand could only buy a plain cup; even this smooth green cup would cost much more, appearing exceptionally noble.
The plum blossoms on the wine cup looked so vivid that they seemed alive. Just these three pieces of celadon drinking ware would likely be worth several hundred thousand! Qin Feng slowly placed his hand on the greenish-blue wine pot and felt its smooth coolness. He regarded it as a treasure worth hundreds of thousands! He knew he was just a poor wretch in that world who couldn't even find work.
An impulse arose within him to steal these items and keep them in his residence; after all, they were worth a fortune! He thought about his own residence and realized he had similar items there—a set of celadon tea ware.
Not far from his bed stood a round table with a greenish-blue teapot that looked round and elongated with a curved spout beside several larger greenish-blue cups meant for tea. Those cups were larger than these ones used for wine but appeared equally smooth and perhaps even better.
His bedroom was adorned with paintings and calligraphy that looked lifelike; although some were deeper while others were lighter, they should also be worth quite a bit. The calligraphy was particularly striking—some pieces were vigorous while others seemed weak yet exuded strength; the brushwork was refined and surely crafted by a master!
Realizing he had so many valuable items at home made him question why he would need to steal this; surely his possessions must be worth something too—he was practically wealthy! He withdrew his hand; after all, he was a third-rank High Official. If he got caught stealing, it would be truly embarrassing!
Qin Fu noticed this and reached for the wine pot, thinking his master wanted to drink. He placed his hand on it without trying to take it away from his master. However, Qin Feng withdrew his hand again, perhaps feeling that the wine pot was too cold and didn't want to pour it himself.
Immediately, Qin Fu picked up the wine pot, stood up, bent slightly toward the cup in front of Qin Feng, and poured him a full glass. Then he extended the pot toward his own cup and filled it to the brim.
He said, "Although I, Afu, am just a Servant, you treat me like a brother. I will always remember your kindness! This cup of wine is to honor you; thank you for your care over the years." After toasting with that cup of wine, he quickly poured it into his mouth with great ease; the white liquor went down his throat without any sign of discomfort.
Qin Feng stared blankly at him; he had tasted this celadon white liquor before—it was extremely strong! It truly irritated his throat, which is why he hadn't drunk any. Being from the south meant he wasn't accustomed to such potent drinks compared to those from the north.
Seeing Afu's excited expression made him feel guilty for not drinking; it would be disappointing to let down his expectations. He could only slowly lift the full cup of liquor to his lips; its strong flavor hit him as he brought it closer.
As it slid down his throat, it felt like fire igniting within him—it was so strong! His face changed slightly as some red appeared on his previously pale cheeks. Then he felt warmth spreading through his stomach; indeed it was quite fiery—a sensation akin to burning!
Seeing Qin Feng downing the entire glass made Qin Fu very happy. Although Qin Feng was a Scholar, he could hold his liquor better than Afu—he often accompanied him in drinking sessions.
He took up the wine pot again and filled their cups once more saying: "Master, I Afu will never forget your kindness! This cup is another toast to you; we won't leave until we're drunk today since we have nothing else planned for this afternoon."
He filled his own cup too while looking excitedly at Qin Feng as they both prepared to drink together. Looking at that cup of liquor made Qin Feng feel uneasy; its taste was far stronger than southern liquor.
But Afu seemed emboldened by excitement; he couldn't bear to disappoint him and decided to drink another cup! The two greenish-blue cups clinked together with a crisp sound before they both drank deeply from their respective cups.
Afu had been drinking for years now; although he too came from the south, he had grown accustomed to stronger liquor over time—this just happened to be more potent than what he was used to at home.
As Qin Feng swallowed more liquor, he felt its intensity increase; redness crept onto his face along with some dizziness. However, once it settled in his stomach, it didn't feel uncomfortable anymore—instead warming him up as if he had adapted.
After downing two more cups, he felt less cold and more warm inside—a pleasant sensation spread throughout his body from his stomach. Yet still, he found this flavor somewhat unfamiliar and didn't particularly enjoy such strong alcohol.
Afu filled their cups again before putting away the greenish-blue wine pot. "I know your capacity for alcohol is exceptional! Although you've made many friends in Tokyo City, you still face ridicule from royal relatives which leaves an inexplicable discomfort in your heart. Today I will drink with you until we are completely intoxicated!"
"At worst we can sleep here for a few hours until evening when we’ll feel better—then we can explore Tokyo's night market together later! We can visit Yanhua Tower filled with beautiful women—a night we won't forget!"
Qin Feng had only recently arrived in this era; there wasn't much discomfort left over from past experiences—he didn't want to drink at all. But Qin Fu seemed emboldened like he'd eaten courage itself—he brought the cup closer to Qin Feng's lips insisting that he drink!
Without any master-servant constraints between them now—they felt like long-time friends ready for an adventure together at Yanhua Tower—the place known for having the most enchanting women in Tokyo who could captivate any man's soul!
Yanhua Tower truly lived up to its reputation—it could make any man lose himself entirely there.
