Song Pearl was unaware of the discussions among the village chief's family. At that moment, she had already taken the signed document from the village chief to find Secretary Song Jiantao.
Song Jiantao was not at home; he had finished his meal early and went to the Team Headquarters office to start the heater. When Song Pearl pushed the door open and entered, he had just plugged in the office loudspeaker, preparing to make an announcement.

"Well, I'm not that noble." Nevertheless, Song Jiantao appreciated her words; he waved his hand dismissively. "The accountant hasn't arrived yet. When he comes, just give him the document and let him give you the money."
At this point, Song Pearl felt a spark of excitement; her brows lifted in joy. Had she heard correctly? It seemed that there was still money in the Team Headquarters treasury.
"Can our village really reimburse such a large amount for medical expenses all at once?"
"Originally we couldn't, but after signing yesterday, the deposit from Hongqing Group has already been sent to the township. Considering our village's difficult situation, they agreed to allocate some funds for us to distribute to the villagers. It should arrive after work today. I'll have the accountant go pick it up."
When selling land, it is always measured on-site. The public areas such as roads, rivers, and ditches belong to the village, so the village can also receive a portion of the money.
"That's great, thank you, Secretary," Song Pearl said happily.
"You're welcome. It's not a one-time payment. Each year, it's based on the income per acre of land. Seeing that Secretary was about to announce the list of those going to work at Hongqing Group over the loudspeaker, Song Pearl quickly took her signed document and left the Team Headquarters.
Although their home was outside the village and they couldn't hear the loudspeaker, just in case, she feared that Song Shiting would be overwhelmed if he found out before she got home. So she hurriedly rode her bicycle back.

Meanwhile, Song Shiting was squatting on the ground making brooms and simply smiled at the two women. In his eyes, it was perfectly normal for Song Pearl to get this reimbursement form signed because she had grown up well; although she spoke little, whenever she did speak, it was never without reason.
"Mom, Dad," Song Pearl said as she asked Liu Cuiying to keep the documents safe. "I have something to tell you. After Hongqing Group bought the land, they plan to establish an Ecological Aquaculture Park in our village. Since my major aligns with this, they decided to hire me for the job."
Song Pearl thought of a reason that would make her sound more impressive, believing it would be easier for Song Shiting to accept.
"What!" Song Shiting paused with the corn seedling in hand. "When did this happen? We can't agree to this. You're going to the Provincial Capital; this isn't where you should be living."
With that, he stood up from the ground, his face slightly flushed. Seeing Song Shiting like this made Song Pearl's heart tighten.
A patient recovering from a stroke must not be stimulated.
"Dad," Song Pearl quickly put on a smile. "Dad, please listen to me..." Although she had prepared herself to appease Song Shiting, her smile still felt somewhat forced.
In truth, concern can lead to chaos; regardless of whether Song Pearl's words had any effect, her smile did seem to help.
Song Shiting's emotions calmed down as he listened patiently to Song Pearl's reasoning.
"Pearl, you've been studying in the city for several years now, and you've already found a job. It's not easy to find work in the Provincial Capital; you finding a job so easily is a blessing that doesn't come often. You should cherish it."
Liu Cuiying nodded along; she also felt it was quite a pity.

Why does Song Shiting hope for Song Pearl to live in the city?
