Song Pearl listened quietly to Qing Wenyu's words, remaining silent for a long time. Recently, it seemed that he was truly making an effort, but what about her? She didn't know.
Time slipped away unnoticed, the air grew colder, and Resort entered the off-season for tourism. Song Pearl found herself with more time and occasionally went to the Ecological Aquaculture Farm to provide guidance on breeding.

Song Pearl listened quietly, unable to see how Jinshan Resort, merely a leisure and entertainment venue, was related to these enterprises.
“Jinmai Investment Company, renowned domestically, wants to acquire Jinshan Resort. They have offered generous terms. After discussion, the county has decided to sell off the Resort area…”
Upon hearing this news, Song Pearl remained surprisingly calm in her seat; she did not raise any objections or forcefully argue.
“The county plans to sell off Resort, why are you not reacting at all?” Qing Wenyu called immediately.
“What reaction can I have? This is a decision made by the county that involves political and economic factors. If it allows Resort to develop better, then I agree,” Song Pearl replied without a ripple of emotion.
“Don’t you hope that Ecological Aquaculture Farm can be retained?” Qing Wenyu asked.
“If investors can recognize its commercial value, it will be retained,” Song Pearl smiled wearily. “I didn’t expect that the one causing trouble at Resort, Jin Weicheng, was here for a business investigation; his goal was to acquire Jinshan Resort. The land that once seemed worthless has now become a hot commodity; my efforts were not in vain.”
She held her phone and looked calmly out at the dazzling scenery outside. “Perhaps I should have merged Resort under the big tree of Hongqing earlier… Originally, your father arranged a very promising business marriage for you, but who would have thought that both of us would soon have nothing?”
Qing Wenyu fell silent. Jin Mai had been a long-time partner of Hongqing. This marriage was indeed based on Wu Qiang's position and assets in Jin Mai, but who would have thought that Wu Qiang would soon abandon everything related to Jin Mai, and now the chairman of Jin Mai had changed to Jin Zhu, who seemed eager to swallow up Hongqing at any moment.
Now that they were coming to acquire Resort, it was clear that actions had begun.

Song Pearl had not yet finished work when a crowd rushed into her office.
"Pearl, I heard they're selling the Resort. Does that mean we'll be unemployed?"
"Pearl, we all support you. Let's go find the county leaders and urge them to cancel the plan to sell the Resort!"
Song Pearl held her pen and looked at the indignant villagers. They were ordinary workers at the Ecological Aquaculture Farm, and their anxiety about losing their homes and jobs was once again evident on their faces.
Yuan Peng entered to calm the agitated villagers, persuading them to leave Song Pearl's office. He had been wanting to resign but hadn't thought of a suitable reason when he was met with the news that the Resort was going to be sold.

"Wang Xingxing, I'm going to find Pearl and Qing Wenyu. You should come with me." He picked up the phone on his desk and called Wang Xingxing.
When Song Pearl finished work, she received a call from Qing Wenyu.
"I can't pick you up tonight due to some last-minute issues. Just head back by yourself!"
Song Pearl chuckled; she wasn't that fragile that she needed her husband to pick her up every time. Showing off their love wasn't like this; now outsiders could see how affectionate they were as a couple. Hongqing's young and capable chairman doted on his wife immensely.
Qing Wenyu parked his car in Cheng Jiujia's parking lot, where Jin Mai had a long-term studio.
Recently, they had booked a room at the Resort hotel, but because Jin Weicheng was staying there and was harassed by staff, they ultimately canceled all reservations for the villa and rooms at the Resort.
Today, he was meeting with Jin Mai's general manager Wu Yuqian and vice chairman Jin Weicheng to discuss the next steps for cooperation between their two companies.
He brought his assistant to a nice room and opened the private room door; Wu Yuqian and Jin Weicheng were already waiting inside.
"Senior, you're one minute late today!" Wu Yuqian stood up, her lightly made-up face showing a faint smile as she gestured for Qing Wenyu to sit near her.
"Let me introduce you; this is our vice chairman Jin Weicheng, President Jin's son. He's young and capable, having studied abroad for many years with rich experience in investment management. Recently, he has mainly been responsible for overseas cooperation matters, and this time he's primarily in charge of the Resort acquisition and working with Hongqing..."
Qing Wenyu smiled and extended his hand. Jin Weicheng lazily stood up and shook hands briefly, appearing somewhat reluctant and unsteady on his feet, hardly giving off an impression of being young and capable.

As soon as the words were spoken, the atmosphere was charged with tension.

She naturally turned to the assistant beside Qing Wenyu.
"They've already been brought," the assistant replied, pulling out a folder and placing it aside.

Wu Yuqian also raised her glass with a smile.
Song Pearl returned home after having a buffet at Resort.

Song Pearl knew without thinking that they were here for something, so she opened the door and let the two of them into the living room.
"Wang Xingxing" placed the tomatoes on the coffee table.

"Pearl, do you still like eating tomatoes?"
Song Pearl smiled and nodded, first inviting the village chief to sit down.
"I've always liked tomatoes, especially the ones from Song Family Village. I love all the vegetables we grow here. Have you eaten yet? I'll go stir-fry some dishes!" Seeing the village chief's worried expression made Song Pearl feel a bit reluctant.
"Don't worry about cooking; we just came to mooch a meal. Where's your kitchen? I'll go cook, and you can chat with the village chief!" "Wang Xingxing" said as he rushed into the kitchen with the tomatoes.
