Wang Ziyan stared in astonishment at Song Pearl as she ran up the Rockery, barely able to speak. The Rockery wasn't very tall, but it was still a hill made of jagged stones covered in moss. If one didn't climb from a fixed position, it was indeed possible to fall!
Now, Song Pearl wasn't just climbing; she was running up as if her feet had suction cups, moving swiftly and effortlessly.
Had Song Pearl's physical condition improved so much? Wang Ziyan remembered that during school, she was terrible at sports and couldn't keep up with the group during morning runs.
But this seemed unrelated to her physical condition! Perhaps she was just too anxious, and her speed allowed her to avoid slipping down.
As Wang Ziyan pondered this, she began to climb the side of the Rockery following the path indicated by the Tricycle Driver.
It was strange; not many people could remain so calm after being bitten by a snake!
Although the situation was somewhat peculiar, it was broad daylight, and there were people on the Rockery. There was nothing to fear, especially since Song Pearl had already gone up.
"Are we going to wait for you guys or not?" the Tricycle Driver called out from below, scratching his head as he looked up. These two girls were acting strangely; what on earth was happening at the top of the Rockery?
Even though he received no answer to his question, he decided to stay at the bottom and see what excitement would unfold.
To his surprise, there was actually a pavilion atop this seemingly rough and unmaintained Rockery. As Wang Ziyan climbed up while holding onto a protruding rock, the first thing she noticed was the tail of a snake. Then she saw Song Pearl squatting in the pavilion with several anxious-looking people standing around her. Those people were none other than members of Jinmai Group who had dined with them last night.
As someone who studied livestock and poultry, Wang Ziyan paused when she saw the large Python. Was this from Song Pearl's Ecological Aquaculture Farm? Who would dare buy a snake that big? It was fortunate that it hadn't swallowed someone whole but had only bitten!
Countless thoughts flashed through Wang Ziyan's mind as she slowed her pace and approached Song Pearl, who was helping a pale-faced young man stand up from beside the Python's head.
"Isn't that Jin Weicheng? Is... is he okay?"
Wang Ziyan glanced at the few people standing nearby and quietly asked, "Aren't you all staying at a hotel in the city? How did you end up on top of the Rockery?"
One man closest to Wang Ziyan whispered back, "This morning President Jin felt quite bored and dragged us along to visit the park. We saw this snake and were curious, so we followed it up to the Rockery. Who knew that thing would turn around and bite President Jin's arm without letting go? Thankfully this gentleman helped... recognized that this is a snake from Jinshan Aquaculture Farm; otherwise, we wouldn't have known what to do!"
The man's face was still slightly red, as if he had been frightened.
Wang Ziyan followed the man's gaze to the person who reminded them to look for Song Pearl. This man had a dark, round face and was dressed simply. He didn't seem like someone from the city. She didn't pay much attention and shifted her gaze back to Song Pearl.
Jin Weicheng's limp body had already been taken over by the two men beside him; he still seemed a bit unsteady.
Song Pearl crouched down again to stroke Orochimaru, staring into the snake's eyes, trying to sense any demonic aura.
The demon's reaction yesterday was a bit strange; it seemed to want to hide from Zhang Yunye. Now, there was no trace of the demon on this snake. Where had it gone?
She pondered this while listening to Wang Ziyan's conversation with the others.
"Aren't you supposed to call the police and go to the hospital right away? Why are you thinking about finding Song Pearl? We just finished eating and came over; weren't you anxious waiting for so long?"
"We didn't wait too long. You arrived almost right after we finished the call!"
Hearing this, Song Pearl turned to look at him.
"You just finished the call?"
"Yeah, just finished the call, and it was on President Jin's phone. When he heard that this snake was raised by you, he shouted to quickly call Song Pearl, quickly call Song Pearl! We were all flustered! The snake opened its big mouth wide..."
The speaker was Jin Weicheng's Secretary, and it was pitiful that these big men sounded a bit shaken.
This person? Song Pearl recognized him as someone from the Ecological Aquaculture Farm who raised snakes; she had seen him not long ago.
"How did you end up here?" she asked.
The man replied, "Last night, I felt something strange. For some reason, all the snakes were running down the mountain. I couldn't go back, so I followed them all the way here. By the time I got here, those snakes had disappeared, and I only saw this Orochimaru biting this guy's arm and not letting go..."

Song Pearl also thought of this point. She called that number back, but it was clear that it wasn't Jin Weicheng's. However, there was no need to make another call.
Song Pearl gently stroked the head of the Orochimaru lying on the ground and shook her head, "Let's not pursue this any further. As long as the person is okay."
She looked at Jin Weicheng, "I don't know why you went to provoke a snake. Fortunately, this snake isn't venomous. Although it bit your arm, it didn't break the skin. Consider yourself lucky!"
"No injuries? Let's go, hurry up!" Jin Weicheng finally reacted.
His heart was racing non-stop. He finally steadied himself and thought he should quickly go to the hospital for a check-up; he hoped he wouldn't scare himself into having a heart problem!
What was that Wu Yuqian thinking? Asking him to meet in the park early in the morning to discuss something—thank goodness he brought a lot of people; otherwise, who knows what would have happened?
He also blamed his own curiosity for wanting to follow when he saw so many snakes appearing just before winter. Little did he know he was walking into a trap...
This desolate mountain village was indeed not a good place. The most frustrating part was Song Pearl's Ecological Aquaculture Farm. Why raise snakes for no reason? And such a big one at that!
Remembering the gaze of that snake, this self-proclaimed brave man felt uneasy all over. Thankfully, it was Orochimaru! Otherwise, who knows what would have happened if those snakes had crawled over to him!
It seemed like the snake had spoken to him! Did it? He couldn't recall. In any case, he had been bitten on the arm by the snake, and the pain was excruciating! How could there be no injury?
It must have been excessive fright, just an illusion! Yes, definitely.
He decided it was better not to invest in Jinshan Resort. Song Pearl seemed calm, but the wild Bobcats she raised were running rampant everywhere. Who knew if they would retaliate against him in the future!
It would be best to hand this project over to that wicked woman Wu Yuqian. After all, wasn't she wealthy now? It was she who had urged him to invest in the Resort!
Jin Weicheng's mind was filled with these thoughts, and he actually forgot the important reason for coming to the park. He was supposed to meet Wu Yuqian, but instead of seeing her, he got bitten by a snake!
Due to time constraints, he hadn't gone to Wu Yuqian's location. It wasn't until he returned to his hotel room after a comprehensive medical check-up at the hospital that he remembered he had business at the park.
He dialed Wu Yuqian's number and shouted angrily, "Wu Yuqian, you asked me to meet you at the park; where did you run off to?"
On the other end came Wu Yuqian's laughter: "I've been waiting for you; who knew I wouldn't see you!"
"Who would believe that? It's a tiny park; I walked around and didn't see you anywhere!"
"Jin Weicheng, it seems you no longer trust me. Who told you to believe me? I’m not called Wu Yuqian anymore; I’m now Song Zhenbao."
I don't care what you're called! Jin Weicheng was so furious he felt like choking Wu Yuqian.
"Where are you? What do you want from me?"
"I'll come see you shortly; I want to discuss that matter I mentioned earlier." Song Zhenbao finally stopped laughing. Her laughter was pleasant, devoid of any schadenfreude; it sounded more like playful banter between lovers. "I arranged to meet you in the park; who told you to chase after a snake? Getting bitten was your own doing!"
"How did you know I was bitten by a snake? Did you see it?"
"Of course, I was waiting for you!"
"Alright, I'll let it go this time. Let's meet at the usual place at Jin Mai Zhu Cheng Hotel. You come." Jin Weicheng said, "But I'm not going to talk to you about Song Pearl. That woman is too strange; I don't want to get involved with her at all! If we discuss the Resort bidding issue, I can hand this project over to you right now..."
"Really? That's great!" Song Zhenbao replied with a smile before hanging up the phone.
At that moment, she was sitting in Qing Wenyu's office, where a miniature camera was placed on the desk in front of him.
"Senior, this is what makes Song Pearl unusual; she never told you, did she? Now you understand why you faint whenever you see a snake, right? Song Pearl has the ability to control snakes. Everything you've experienced should have been arranged by her."
"That can't be! That was years ago; there wasn't even an Ecological Aquaculture Farm back then!" Qing Wenyu rubbed his forehead. "Yu Qian, my family's matters don't need your concern. I will consider your cooperation; I'm also grateful for your help."
Qing Wenyu had just watched the video of Jin Weicheng and his group encountering a snake in the park that morning. The miniature camera was placed on Jin Weicheng by someone close to him at Song Zhenbao's request and was later retrieved without anyone noticing.
