At this point, the Celestial Warriors Alliance officially announced its establishment. General Jiang consolidated everyone's suggestions and nominated An Xiaotian as the leader of the alliance in the conference room. However, An Xiaotian was taken aback by this decision; he had always remembered that he was just a rookie soldier, and in his eyes, there was still a long journey of growth ahead of him.
After the meeting, An Xiaotian waited for everyone to leave the venue before approaching General Jiang at the podium, unsure of how to start. "You should be able to see that it's not favoritism; you are unanimously considered the best choice," General Jiang said, picking up his briefcase seriously. "The fact is, everything you have done is enough to prove your capability. There is no need for doubt or evasion."
An Xiaotian was still searching for words when a gust of wind brushed past him. He turned abruptly to catch up with General Jiang and expressed, "General, perhaps I am not ready at all. If I had thrown a grenade instead of a flashbang back then, I would still be an ordinary soldier now. I feel like everything is happening too suddenly. I've been trying to accept the changes in my body and the inexplicable missions, but..."
"But what?" General Jiang stopped and turned to look at him, his broad shoulders nearly pressing against An Xiaotian's chest, leaving him momentarily speechless.
"If there were alternative scenarios... but reality has no alternatives, Xiaotian. You are already Fierce Eagle, a hero prepared to save humanity from crisis; you cannot escape this destiny. Everyone wishes for peace and safety, but there will always be those who stand as pillars in turbulent times. You are a soldier, an excellent and powerful young leader. Recognize yourself and stop avoiding it."
As General Jiang's footsteps faded at the end of the corridor, they were replaced by the sounds of training from the distant drill ground. In the silent space, An Xiaotian leaned against the wall, desperately blinking his eyes as he tried to discern whether the flickering light was his youthful passion from years ago or the mission amidst blazing flames. The entanglement with fate and contemplation of life would accompany An Xiaotian throughout his growth, becoming his greatest inner conflict.
The first-generation members of the Celestial Warriors—Liu Xuan, Qin Weishan, Jiao An, Lu Sha, Xu Yicheng—gathered together for the first time, curiously sizing each other up without anyone initiating conversation.
"In my lifetime, being able to witness heroes unite is enough for me," Colonel Gao said as he walked with other officers, peering through the window at the Celestial Warriors in the lounge. Like General Jiang, they were among the few Prophets at M City Military Base and were also the only group authorized to closely interact with the Celestial Warriors while bearing a duty to keep secrets.
"That guy is looking at you," Qin Weishan spoke first as he nudged Jiao An.
"Hmph," Jiao An scoffed. "A debauched person like him will eventually face retribution."
"Debauched person? Who?" Lu Sha's curiosity piqued immediately since she only knew Jiao An.
"That old man Gao Ling who often flirts with your Sister Jiao An," Qin Weishan explained to Lu Sha. "He thinks Jiao An used to be a model and wants to pursue her."
"And then?"
"What else? It's strange; no one has clear evidence of his corruption, yet everyone is convinced he's rotten."
"Oh." Lu Sha nodded thoughtfully as she recalled how her boss often teased her during her summer job. "Men are all creatures who think with their lower halves! Ha."
"Hey, don't generalize! You need to be more open-minded," Qin Weishan corrected her.
"No way! We just exchanged a few words; are we close? Do I need your guidance?" Lu Sha's bad temper flared up immediately, and two hot-headed individuals were ready to clash. Liu Xuan and Jiao An quickly pulled Lu Sha back while Qin Weishan shook his head; compared to Lu Sha, he could still control his emotions.
Looking at the defiant red-haired girl before him and her strange wrist devices, Xu Yicheng leaned closer to Liu Xuan and asked in confusion, "Is she part of our team?"
"Personality issue," Liu Xuan shrugged helplessly. He knew that Dr. Xu's personality was completely opposite that of Lu Sha. Clearly, their first interaction was not particularly pleasant.
Silence fell again until An Xiaotian pushed open the lounge door, reviving everyone's atmosphere once more. Seeing all eyes on him made An Xiaotian want to shrink back; he asked everyone nervously, "Are you all... getting along?"
"Enough small talk; our captain!" Qin Weishan called out. "Let's get down to business so we can leave quickly and spare me from being here..." Jiao An suddenly yanked Qin Weishan's ear hard enough that he cried out for her to let go before she changed the subject.
"Alright, I won't say much about welcoming you all; today marks the establishment of our alliance. From now on, we will be comrades fighting side by side," An Xiaotian stated. "However, we need to confirm one thing: Dr. Xu's alien comrade has been out of contact for a month now; something unusual must be happening. The safety of Titan Aibo is our top priority right now. Dr. Xu, Aibo's matters will also be our alliance's matters moving forward; if you need anything, we will fully cooperate at any time."
"Thank you all," Xu Yicheng replied as he raised the Summoning Stone in his hand; its green wave-like glow flickered rhythmically and faintly illuminated the room.
As everyone was filled with confusion, Xu Yicheng explained, "Because I haven't been able to contact him for a long time, I now record useful messages every day and send them to my friend's sensory body like writing a diary. Although he has never responded."
"Are you still sending them?" Liu Xuan asked.
"Yes."
"Then please keep sending. My family has ties to the Titan Clan, and perhaps he will listen to me a little." Liu Xuan's left eye transformed into a bright moonlight color as Nars came online; he wanted to take this opportunity to send a message to Aibo.
"Aibo, are you there? This is Nars, a descendant of Jenas, your kin from the Titan Clan."
At that moment, Jiao An was the first to notice the change in the Summoning Stone: its ripples had disappeared, leaving only the outline flickering with light in a rhythmic pattern.
"Aibo, we really want to know what has happened on your side. Xu Yicheng said you haven't contacted him for a month. If anything is troubling you, you can completely seek our help; there’s no need to bear it alone. We will always be Aibo's strongest support. Xu Yicheng and Nars are here waiting for your response."
As soon as Nars finished speaking, Xu Yicheng felt a buzzing sensation in his brain, and the illusion before him began to take shape. He finally connected with Aibo. Standing in the world constructed by his mind, he saw spiral patterns pointing towards a cave in the distance. He called out Aibo's name and hurried forward. However, just as he was about to step into the cave, he saw Aibo holding something in both hands. The entire cave was filled with a foul, putrid odor that made one nauseous.
"Aibo?" Xu Yicheng dared not approach and asked, "I've come; I finally see you. You still..."
But Xu Yicheng saw clearly that Aibo resembled a statue, holding what appeared to be a human head.
Suddenly! Aibo lifted his pockmarked stone face, and the blue substance from his eye sockets splattered at Xu Yicheng's feet as he tilted his head back. With a wave of his hand, the illusion seemed to be wiped away—he had forcefully interrupted their mental connection!
Aibo was holding a human head!
This sight terrified Xu Yicheng so much that he sat up straight, his body stiffening like a wooden post as he leaned forward. Liu Xuan and An Xiaotian rushed over to support the gasping Xu Yicheng; it was the first time they had seen the doctor so panicked—his face pale, eyes darting uncontrollably within their sockets, as if his soul had left his body.
"Doctor! Are you okay?" An Xiaotian shook him and shouted back, "Go call for medical personnel!"
"No need! No need..." Xu Yicheng gently pushed their hands away and slowly straightened up, slumping back into his seat as if about to announce something heavy like Bush. He then covered his face with his hands and turned away. "Aibo... he doesn't want to come back. We made the connection, but he doesn't want to see me... No, it's that he doesn't want me to see something!"
Nars gently patted Xu Yicheng's back and asked, "Doctor, can you tell us what you saw?"
"Terrifying things! Horrifying things!" At that moment, Xu Yicheng flailed his arms like a madman, his gaze unfocused and wandering.
"Dr. Xu, please calm down; we need you to clarify what you saw. This will greatly influence our next course of action."
"I saw Aibo; he was holding a human head."
That statement landed like a bomb ready to explode at the center of their group, causing everyone to step back.
"A human head?" Nars took a step forward, trying to soothe Xu Yicheng's heart with his gentle moonlight-like eyes.
Xu Yicheng recalled carefully: "Besides Aibo holding the human head, I also saw various colored liquids smeared on the stone walls and large limbs scattered on the ground!"
"Do you have any impression of that cave? Or did Aibo ever take you inside?" Nars seemed somewhat anxious.
"No, he has never taken me inside, and I have no impression of it." Xu Yicheng looked seriously at Nars, having completely calmed down, and answered Nars's question calmly.
Nars lowered his head and began pacing back and forth. Everyone quietly watched him, seemingly waiting for him to speak, as he was the most familiar with the Stone Giant Clan here; even Xu Yicheng could only be considered a passerby in the Stone Giant Clan.
"Comrades, I must announce something very serious to you. The Life Crystals have likely fallen into enemy hands," Nars said.
"What is that?" Qin Weishan's eyes widened.
"Same question!" Lu Sha raised his hand beside him.
Qin Weishan shot Lu Sha a strange look, clearly saying: Are we familiar with each other? Lu Sha unceremoniously glared back at him.
"One of the key points of our mission, at least the first step, has already failed," Nars said.
"There are two types of crystals in this universe: the Chaos Crystals and the Life Crystals. Both are supreme Creator Deities in the universe, a type of supernatural life form. The Life Crystals and Chaos Crystals represent the beginning and end of everything in the universe, respectively. The Life Crystals are more like the rulers of life; they are responsible for creation, while the Chaos Crystals represent termination and destruction, possessing far greater power than the Life Crystals and unmatched destructive capability. I am not sure what Ban Sa intends to do with both crystals, but one thing is certain: this is an important step for him to realize his ambitions."
"Can we ordinary humans take a moment to sort this out?" Qin Weishan interrupted Nars. "What I understand is that our mission has become significantly more difficult, right? But I have two questions: First, we don't know where this Chaos Crystal is located; how can we know their course of action?"
"From what I know, the Chaos Crystals are guarded by the Demon Realm. The leader there, the Evil Master of Ghost Techniques, possesses strength comparable to the Time-Space King and should not allow Ban Sa to succeed. The Time-Space King can drive Ban Sa away; so can the Evil Master of Ghost Techniques."
Looking at the silent crowd, Nars felt a bit awkward: "In short, the Chaos Crystals are temporarily safe. Ban Sa's team is definitely on their way to the Demon Realm now. If they can deal with him there, that would be best; we wouldn't have to go through so much trouble to protect this planet."
"As for their course of action, I have a bold guess, but it doesn't seem optimistic. The Stone Giant Clan cannot withstand Ban Sa and his subordinates; the Life Crystals have already been lost. From what I know, the Milky Way is his first point of expansion, which means he will not give up on expanding towards Earth. Ban Sa will likely leave some of his subordinates on Earth to wait for his return; this is our next target direction. The most likely concentrated area will be in the Stone Giant's forests; the hiding place chosen by the Stone Giant Titan clan must possess strong concealment. They will not act rashly before Ban Sa returns. Although the enemy is hidden while we are visible, we must find an opportunity to take initiative."
"Why are you so sure that the Stone Giant Clan has failed?" Xu Yicheng said with a flushed face, raising his voice: "I don't believe they would fail!"
"Calm down, Dr. Xu; there are some facts you must accept," Nars said, pursing his lips as he looked at Xu Yicheng. "The Stone Giant Titan clan is in grave danger; Aibo's vision connected with you surely intended to convey this information—he is seeking our help."
"Aibo doesn't want to respond to you, Dr. Xu; we need to give him some quiet time to recover. My thought is that we should go find Aibo over there first. Moreover, once we move out, we will likely encounter internal humans head-on. Let's give them a good beating! Let Aibo know that we are on the same front as him!"
"Are we going to fight?" Qin Weishan perked up at once and said while cracking his knuckles, "I'm all in!"
