Wang Shunliu finished speaking, lowered his head to fiddle with his weapon, and tightly gripped it, his eyes flashing with a hint of determination. 0

Slowly extending the gun out from behind cover, Wang Shunliu focused intently on aiming, gradually recalling the shooting techniques his father had taught him. He began to enter a peculiar state, akin to that of a hunter on the prowl. 0

Wang Shunliu aimed for about a minute when the Second Battalion Commander, growing impatient, said, "Are you going to shoot or not? If you can't do it, I'll lead the soldiers to charge directly; we can still take down the Japanese position! Don't waste time here." 0

Hu Lian noticed Wang Shunliu's change and shot a fierce glare at the Second Battalion Commander. "Shut up and be quiet!" 0

"Oh! Yes, Regimental Commander." 0

As soon as they finished speaking, a crisp gunshot rang out. After firing, Wang Shunliu rolled out from behind cover, holding his gun and quickly running forward. While running, he fired two more shots and then crouched low as he dashed toward the spot he had just indicated. 0

"Nice shot!" Hu Lian exclaimed as he observed the movements of the Japanese in the Corner Building through his binoculars. Wang Shunliu had just taken down a Japanese soldier on the second floor with a single shot. 0

Putting down the binoculars and intending to praise Wang Shunliu, Hu Lian saw him charge out from behind cover and immediately grabbed the Flower Mechanism in his hands. "Cover me! Give me cover, fire! Fire quickly!" 0

The Kuomintang soldiers, unsure of what was happening, quickly raised their guns at Hu Lian's shout and began firing at the Japanese soldiers hiding in the Corner Building a hundred meters away. The results were rather mediocre. 0

Hu Lian glanced around and tossed aside the Flower Mechanism in his hands. He grabbed a crooked rifle and stood up to unleash a barrage of fire at the Corner Building. 0

Corner Building, Japanese Soldier position. 0

"Sniper! Take cover!" 0

A bullet struck down a Japanese Army Machine Gunner on the second floor. The remaining Japanese soldiers immediately panicked and hid. Those who had been boasting just moments ago were now crouched on the ground, not daring to lift their heads. There were also snipers among the Japanese Army; this type of soldier was synonymous with death for them. 0

"Thud, thud!" Two more bullets hit the window frame. The Japanese soldiers hiding below felt cold sweat break out; fortunately, they had crouched quickly; otherwise, they might have been sent to meet Amaterasu! 0

A Japanese Sergeant cautiously lifted his head and saw a Chinese soldier charging forward rapidly while they were trying to evade. "Counterattack! Counterattack! The Chinese soldier is coming; quick, counterattack!" 0

The Japanese soldiers carefully peeked out from their hiding spots; some stealthily changed positions. After a brief moment of panic, they quickly regained their composure and began organizing a counterattack methodically. The Machine Gun Ammunition Loader pushed aside the body of the Machine Gunner and began operating the machine gun to continue blocking the entrance. 0

Wang Shunliu ran at full speed toward his intended destination immediately after firing the gun. He needed to quickly approach the target building while the Japanese had not yet reacted. 0

Otherwise, once the Japanese Soldier realized what was happening, he would be in trouble. The shooting skills of the Japanese Soldier were no joke; at this distance, it was not much different from shooting at a target for them. 0

Several bullets whizzed past him with a sharp sound, and at that moment, Wang Shunliu was still about eight meters away from the target Small Building. 0

The Japanese Sergeant picked up his gun and aimed at Wang Shunliu's trajectory, firing a shot. The bullet sliced through the air with a loud friction sound and hit a pillar next to Wang Shunliu. 0

“Damn it! I actually missed!” The Japanese Sergeant cursed, looking somewhat frustrated and dissatisfied with his performance. 0

Quickly reloading, the Japanese Sergeant aimed at Wang Shunliu again, this time with even more focus. 0

“Tat tat tat tat tat tat······” 0

The sound of a Machine Gun from One Team rang out as Hu Lian fired a burst of bullets from his Flower Mechanism towards the Japanese in the Corner Building. 0

“Puff, puff!” Several bullets struck the cover in front of the Japanese Sergeant, startling him with the noise of bullets hitting the barrier. 0

The Japanese Sergeant hurriedly ducked to avoid the bullets. After about two seconds without any more shots coming his way, he slowly raised his head again to search for Wang Shunliu, wanting to eliminate that audacious Chinese Soldier. 0

“Three meters!” The bullets around Wang Shunliu were becoming increasingly dense; it seemed that the Japanese's Machine Gun had also opened fire! 0

“Two meters!” A bullet grazed past Wang Shunliu's arm, causing him intense pain, as if his skin had been torn. He had never felt such pain before. 0

Wang Shunliu gritted his teeth, sweat pouring down his face, constantly reminding himself not to get distracted and not to think about his wounds. 0

“Made it!” 0

A surge of joy filled Wang Shunliu as he executed a side dive, crashing through the door into the nearby Small Building. Several bullets hit the spot where he had just been almost simultaneously. 0

This Small Building used to be a silk shop; inside were various piles of fabric, likely remnants left behind by previous owners who found it too troublesome to move. There were no fine silks or satins that Wang Shunliu could see. 0

Wang Shunliu casually found a piece of pure white gauze and pulled out the Bayonet from his leg. This was his habit; while others kept their Bayonets at their waists, he preferred to keep his on his leg. He used the Bayonet to cut a section of White Gauze and turned to look at his wound. 0

A bullet had grazed Wang Shunliu's arm, leaving a not-so-long cut that oozed blood, with a faint scent of flesh lingering in the air. The immense friction had "cooked" the edges of the wound. 0

Wang Shunliu gritted his teeth, laid the gun aside, and slowly took off his Military Uniform. Holding the Bayonet carefully, he gingerly cut away a small piece of dead flesh that had rolled up on his arm. 0

"Ah!..." A piercing scream escaped Wang Shunliu's lips, and he broke out in a cold sweat, feeling as if he had just taken a shower. 0

Gasping for breath, Wang Shunliu slowly wrapped the White Gauze around his arm, then tied it tightly with a knot using his teeth before finally letting himself fall to the ground, ready to rest for a while. At this moment, he could barely hold onto his gun. 0

... 0

"Commander, what was that soldier's name again? Is he going to be okay? Why hasn't there been any movement for so long? Is something wrong?" 0

Hu Lian observed Wang Shunliu entering a Small Building through binoculars. "Don't jinx it. His name is Wang Shunliu. That kid has killed at least fifteen enemies; he's only been in the army for a year. If you weren't with me early on, you would have been surpassed by others!" 0

The Second Battalion Commander gaped in disbelief. "Fifteen? Wasn't the one who killed the most enemies before this called Dong Fang, that Platoon Leader? He killed nine or ten; he's from the Third Battalion. The commander of the Third Battalion bragged about it for ages! How come I didn't know about this Wang Shunliu? Which battalion is he from?" 0

Hu Lian lowered the binoculars. "He's from your Second Battalion. You have a treasure but don't know how to use it. You don't realize it's because he's low-key, and our method of calculating military achievements does have some issues. Once this battle is over, I'll report it to higher-ups." 0

After saying this, Hu Lian picked up the binoculars again and anxiously scanned the surroundings. Such a good soldier shouldn't sacrifice himself just after being discovered! He was currently short on manpower! 0
