The Dazzling New Star of the Heroes of the Martial World
Inside the temple, the Nightmare Demon asked the master, and the master replied, "It is not I who saved you, but Buddha who saved you."
The Nightmare Demon said, "Ha, monks always attribute their merits to Buddha. I have a question: where is Buddha?"
The master said, "Buddha is in the eyes, in the heart, and more so in my actions."
The Nightmare Demon asked, "May I ask for your Dharma name?"
The master replied, "My Dharma name is Abstaining from Desire."
The Nightmare Demon further asked, "Buddha said: form is emptiness and emptiness is form. Why then must we have Abstaining from Desire?"
The Celibacy Master said, "You are attached, benefactor. The Dharma name is merely a title for people to call one another; what it is called does not matter. If you are attached to Abstaining from Desire, how can you discuss form is emptiness and emptiness is form?"
The Nightmare Demon said, "It seems that the Celibacy Master has certain cultivation. Then why would Buddha save someone filled with Evil Energy?"
The Celibacy Master replied, "Before Buddha, all beings are equal; there is no distinction between humans and demons."
The Nightmare Demon asked, "Isn't Buddha afraid that this action will cause a calamity in the martial world?"
The Celibacy Master said, "Everything follows fate; when fate arrives, there is no need to refuse. If this leads to a calamity in the martial world, it is also a test for the Common People." Suddenly, a gust of wind blew through, rustling the leaves. The master asked, "Benefactor, did you see that? Just now when the wind blew by, was it the wind moving or the tree moving?"
The Nightmare Demon replied, "From an ordinary person's perspective, of course it is the tree that moves. From a practitioner's perspective, neither the wind moves nor the tree moves; absolutely nothing moves."
The Celibacy Master said, "I would like to hear more about that."
Nightmare Demon: "From the perspective of an ordinary person, what they see is a tree moving; from the perspective of a practitioner, as the Sixth Patriarch Huineng of Zen Buddhism said: 'Originally, there is nothing. Where can dust cling?' Since there is nothing in front of me, how can there be wind, how can there be trees, and how can we talk about the heart? People often get caught up in the surface of problems, just like your Dharma name, Abstaining from Desire, which is merely a name without actual significance. Therefore, whether the wind moves the tree or the tree moves is meaningless to a practitioner; in fact, nothing has moved, everything remains as it is."
Celibacy Master: "What a unique interpretation! You have great wisdom; why not cultivate Buddhism here?"
Nightmare Demon: "I am a Demon; Buddhism does not suit me. What suits me is this cruel martial world and its twisted humanity. I failed in my last scheme and must gain an advantage in the next competition."
Celibacy Master: "Benefactor, the martial world is fraught with danger. Your true home should be in the Buddhist Sect. Our Buddha is compassionate and wishes to save those who are difficult to save."
Nightmare Demon: "What good is compassion? What good is cruelty? In the martial world, only wisdom and strength are absolute power; if the Buddha cannot act accordingly, how can he save others? The destruction of Cold Light Temple a few months ago is the best illustration. Empty talk is useless; it would be better to take concrete action to prove the Buddha's intention to save others. I must take my leave now, Celibacy Master. Thank you for your kindness; farewell."
Celibacy Master: "Benefactor, your injuries have not yet healed; why rush to leave?"
Before leaving, Nightmare Demon: "Master, do you know what it feels like to be betrayed?" Then he vanished into shadows.
Iron-Faced Impartial - Bao Qing arrived at the outskirts of Smoke and Rain, Absolute Flower, Eighteen Floors, suddenly witnessing Eastern Proud Dragon in grave danger due to an illusionary attack. Bao Qing immediately struck Eastern Proud Dragon, and when the illusion was broken, it was also the moment Eastern Proud Dragon was saved. At that moment, Eastern Proud Dragon had only enough strength left to barely stand; his vitality had been severely depleted. Then Bao Qing leaped into the air and flew up to the rooftop. Although Bao Qing was extraordinary, facing the Eighteen Guard Formation for the first time left him feeling overwhelmed. He struggled to hold on while searching for a weakness in the formation, resulting in a stalemate.
On Wudang Peak, seeing their fellow Daoist fall victim, the other Daoists began attacking Yi Zhangzhi. Not wanting to harm anyone, Yi Zhangzhi defended without counterattacking. The battle was dull until one Daoist exclaimed: “Despicable Yi Zhangzhi, even now you refuse to remove your mask of hypocrisy.”
Yi Zhangzhi replied: “Fellow Daoists, do not misunderstand; please allow me to explain.”
The other Daoists paid no heed to Yi Zhangzhi’s words and continued their fierce assault. At that moment, Daoist Master Taiyi appeared on the scene and commanded: “Stop.” Upon hearing this, the Daoists ceased their attacks. Yi Zhangzhi bowed and said: “I pay my respects to Daoist Master Daoqu.”
Taiyi Daoist: “Yi Zhangzhi, please come inside.” Following this, Taiyi Daoist and Yi Zhangzhi entered the temple. Taiyi Daoist asked: “Please explain how Yan Jizi died, and where are Where is the Dao? and Xian Daoqi?”
Yi Zhangzhi responded: “All three—Yan Jizi, Where is the Dao?, and Xian Daoqi—were killed by my Hua Ti Mian Dao Mo.” Upon hearing this, the other Daoists erupted in anger. The head of affairs, Xuanji Zi, declared: “Traitor! You will pay for your fellow Daoist’s life.” He then launched an attack against Yi Zhangzhi. With no choice but to retaliate, Yi Zhangzhi countered with a palm strike. Their energies clashed fiercely; however, due to a slight disadvantage in foundation, Xuanji Zi found the ground beneath him cracking several inches as he was pushed back a few steps. Once again, Taiyi Daoist called for a halt: “Yi Zhangzhi, please explain why your Hua Ti Mian Dao Mo killed those three Daoists.”
Yi Zhangzhi explained: “At that time in the Martial Bamboo Divine Domain, many powerful figures were present, each with their own intentions. However, Yan Jizi and the others insisted on taking my life. To restore balance to the situation, my Hua Ti Mian Dao Mo attacked them. I had already intervened, but the technique used by the Nightmare Demon, which strikes from afar, caught me off guard. As a result, Yan Jizi and his companions were struck by its energy. Among them, both Where is the Dao? and Xian Daoqi died on the spot while Yan Jizi was gravely injured. I took him to the Dreaming Medical Pavilion, hoping that the Divine Doctor could save him; unfortunately, his injuries were too severe even for the doctor.”
Taiyi Daoist: “Since the Nightmare Demon is your manifestation, why can’t you control its actions?”
Yi Zhangzhi: “This is precisely my headache; the Nightmare Demon, being a manifestation of my mastery of Demonic Arts, cannot be controlled by my consciousness when it appears independently. That is why this unfortunate incident occurred.”

You are simply trying to evade responsibility! Daoist Master Daoqu, please ensure that justice is served against Yi Zhangzhi!”
Taiyi Daoist: “Regardless of anything else, it is true that you are responsible for the tragic deaths of Yan Jizi and his companions; you must pay for this.”
Yi Zhangzhi said, "What kind of price is this?"
Taiyi Daoist replied, "In order to quell the turmoil in the martial world, you must not leave Wudang Peak for thirty years."
Yi Zhangzhi responded, "Isn't this equivalent to imprisonment?"
Taiyi Daoist asked, "What? Do you disagree?"
Yi Zhangzhi said, "I acknowledge my mistakes and will accept the consequences; I will not shirk responsibility. Very well."
Xuanji Zi asked, "What about the entity that killed people?"
Yi Zhangzhi explained, "Nightmare Demon has already been defeated by the martial world leader Duanmu Chong at Jingyue Waterfall, so its chances of survival are slim."
Xuanji Zi remarked, "Dying like this is too easy for him."
Taiyi Daoist ordered, "Take Yi Zhangzhi to Reflection Platform, let him reflect on his actions." Subsequently, the disciples of the Taoist Sect took Yi Zhangzhi to Reflection Platform.
