Chapter 15: The Assassin's Emotion
Not far from Sima Family Village, a voice echoed, "The wind is bleak and the waters of the Yi River are cold; a brave man departs and may never return!" Immediately, the first assassin of the Black Design Society, Jing Ke, launched an attack. Jia Dao and Hua Mulan stood ready, both sides on the brink of battle. Hua Mulan said, "Jing Ke, you are aggressive; do not blame us for using our numbers against you." As she spoke, her long sword slashed toward Jing Ke.
Jing Ke's sword unsheathed behind him with indifference, the sword energy resonating through the air, its brilliance blinding. Gripping the hilt, he spun the sword, channeling his energy as he swung it outwards. As Jia Dao and Hua Mulan reached Jing Ke's side, several waves of energy collided, followed by a thunderous roar as the assassin displayed his skills, shaking Jia Dao and Hua Mulan. In the first exchange, both Jia Dao and Hua Mulan were injured. Jing Ke revealed his dagger, wielding both long and short weapons with lethal intent.
Jia Dao gathered his inner strength, channeling vast energy into his palms for a desperate strike, sweeping towards Jing Ke. Jing Ke countered with his long sword, redirecting the energy flow to block Jia Dao's life-threatening move before releasing his dagger straight for Jia Dao's carotid artery. As their energies clashed, the dagger flew towards Jia Dao's face; unable to react in time, Jia Dao could only watch helplessly as the dagger aimed for him. Just when Jia Dao was on the brink of death, Hua Mulan threw her long sword accurately at Jing Ke's dagger, knocking it to the ground. Jia Dao was fortunate to escape with his life, but Jing Ke's deadly sword was still coming.
Hua Mulan leaped forward and grasped Jing Ke's blade with both hands; her palms were cut and covered in blood. The tip of the sword was already poised over Jia Dao's heart; life and death rested solely in Jing Ke's hands. Hua Mulan pleaded, "If you must kill someone, then kill me. You were sent by Yi Junsheng to kill me and Sima Qian; this matter has nothing to do with Jia Dao. Please spare him."
Jing Ke replied, "Yi Junsheng wants both your lives as well as Jia Dao's; none of you can escape."
At this moment, tears streamed down Hua Mulan's face as she displayed a look of helplessness. There was a slight wavering in Jing Ke's resolve, but it did not change his decision. With a firm grip on his right hand, the sword tip made contact with Jia Dao's heart. Jia Dao said, "If you must kill me, then do it without hesitation; after all, eighteen years later I can still be a good man."
Hua Mulan cried out, "No! If someone must die, let it be me first." She then pointed Jing Ke's sword at her own heart.
Gradually moved by Hua Mulan's selfless act of saving another, Jing Ke loosened his grip on the sword. The heart of a hardened killer finally felt compassion. Looking at the tearful figure before him, Jing Ke found himself unable to strike. At that moment, Hua Mulan collapsed from blood loss and dropped her sword to the ground with a clang—a sound signaling that a life was about to fade away. Seeing this, Jing Ke immediately picked up the unconscious Hua Mulan and rushed toward Dreaming Medical Pavilion.
Jia Dao remarked, "That was close! Fortunately this Jing Ke still has some conscience left. Now I must hurry away; otherwise he might change his mind again and I would still fall victim to his deadly hands."
Carrying the unconscious Hua Mulan through the wilderness at breakneck speed, Jing Ke questioned himself repeatedly: What has happened to me? I am an assassin; assassins should have no emotions—why did I show mercy? Killing is my mission; yet now I am doing the opposite—does this mean my career as an assassin is coming to an end?
Filled with confusion, Jing Ke could not find an answer and could only ponder for a moment. After a while, Jing Ke brought Hua Mulan to the Dreaming Medical Pavilion. Divine Doctor Zhang Chongxing immediately treated Hua Mulan's wounds. When Fan Buzhao and others from the Martial Arts Community saw Jing Ke, they couldn't help but feel suspicious. Fan Buzhao asked, "Jing Ke, aren't you only responsible for killing? Why are you here to save someone today? This doesn't align with your identity as an assassin."
Jing Ke replied, "Do I need to report my actions to you?" After saying this, Jing Ke silently left the Dreaming Medical Pavilion.

Zhu Yingtai watched nervously; she was very concerned whether Lustful Man could win because she herself was no match for Left Eye Blind. If Lustful Man lost, it would mean returning to the side of Xia Zhouyi, that hypocrite, leading to days worse than death.
Seeing that Left Eye Blind was relentless and both sides had their offensive moves but were unable to defeat each other, Lustful Man did not want to lose face in front of the beauty. He unleashed a seductive move—Touch Without Mercy—infusing his energy into his sword as he charged at Left Eye Blind. The impact created waves that surged dozens of feet high on the river; as the mist dispersed and their energies collided, Lustful Man's attack overpowered Left Eye Blind's technique. In that moment when the water shattered under their clash, Left Eye Blind was injured and tasted defeat from Touch Without Mercy.
Lustful Man laughed heartily and said, "Blind man, you should go find a woman to solve your problems."
Unable to defeat Lustful Man, Left Eye Blind could only sheath his sword and leave regretfully. At that moment, Zhu Yingtai unexpectedly walked over and hugged Lustful Man tightly, giving him a deep kiss on his left cheek that lingered for a long time. Lustful Man felt ripples in his heart; no woman had ever voluntarily kissed him before, and Zhu Yingtai was the first. When Jing Ke arrived at the Inner Hall, he recalled the scene of Hua Mulan sacrificing herself to save Jia Dao. He had never understood what love was before, but now he had some inkling. Moments later, having failed to find a woman, Left Eye Blind finally collapsed from exhaustion on the ground, his body swollen and his life hanging by a thread.
At that moment, a couple happened to pass by where Left Eye Blind had fainted. They saw him on the brink of death and took him back to their home, calling for a doctor. After examining him, the doctor said, "This man has consumed an excessive amount of Aphrodisiac, which has caused this condition. The only remedy I can suggest is a woman; there is nothing more I can do." Before the doctor could finish speaking, Left Eye Blind woke up. His deep-seated desires became uncontrollable; upon seeing the woman before him, his primal instincts erupted without reservation. Two streams of energy directly sealed the acupoints of the two men present, causing the woman to collapse in fear.
Left Eye Blind reached out to touch the woman on the ground. Due to being afflicted for too long and suffering severe injuries, he needed to exert more force and take more time in his actions. The doctor and the woman's husband could only curse Left Eye Blind with words like "lecher" and "beast," powerless to change what was happening. In order to quickly relieve himself from this predicament, Left Eye Blind urged his Inner Strength and continued touching the woman for an hour. Finally, the effects of Lustful Man's technique were lifted. However, since the woman did not know martial arts, she had already succumbed under Left Eye Blind's merciless assault. Regaining consciousness, Left Eye Blind realized he had committed an unforgivable crime. He released the acupoints of the two men and hurriedly left the scene.
The man held his deceased wife and wept bitterly, saying, "What is right in this? We did a good deed but brought a wolf into our home and suffered this calamity for no reason. That cursed blind man; I will surely kill him for revenge."
The doctor replied, "You should focus on taking care of your wife's affairs first. That blind man knows martial arts and is likely a master in the martial world; you are powerless against him and would only be walking into your own death." With that, the doctor left the scene.
Left Eye Blind raced through the wilderness, thinking: I cannot go back to Famous Sword Society; if President finds out, I will surely die. Now I can only go to Canglong Cave to seek refuge with Gui Gu Zi; Gui Gu Zi is eager for talented individuals and will definitely take me in. Thus it was decided.
Left Eye Blind asked passersby for directions to Canglong Cave. After several hours, he finally arrived at Canglong Cave. However, Lin Bao from Canglong Cave saw his enemy arrive and immediately drew his sword to attack Left Eye Blind without hesitation. The other members of Canglong Cave also joined in attacking Left Eye Blind, leading to an intense battle at the entrance of Canglong Cave. At that moment, Gui Gu Zi stepped in to stop both sides from fighting. Gui Gu Zi asked, "Left Eye Blind from Famous Sword Society, why have you come to Canglong Cave?"
Left Eye Blind replied, "I have come specifically to seek refuge with Gui Gu Zhangmen (Master Gui Gu), hoping that you will take me in."
Gui Gu Zi said, "You are from Famous Sword Society; coming here seeking refuge is clearly an attempt to act as an undercover agent for them."
Left Eye Blind informed Gui Gu Zi about the incident involving the attack from Lustful Man and Xia Zhouyi's approach. Gui Gu Zi replied, "I see, very well, I will temporarily take you in."
Lin Bao immediately opposed, saying, "Master, we must not be deceived by his sweet words; he is an undercover sent by Xia Zhouyi. We cannot take him in."
Gui Gu Zi said, "Nonsense! Are you the master or am I? If I choose to take him in, then bring Left Eye Blind inside."
With no choice, Lin Bao had to obey Gui Gu Zi's orders and brought Left Eye Blind into Canglong Cave, arranging his accommodation. It was already late at night when Dreamy Beauty learned of a guest's arrival and eagerly wanted to meet him. Inside the room, Left Eye Blind caught the scent of a woman and said, "The person before me must be Gui Gu's lady. I am Left Eye Blind, pleased to meet you."
Upon seeing the figure of the blind man, Dreamy Beauty exclaimed with a "Wow," revealing her admiration. She approached Left Eye Blind, lifted his chin with her right hand, and said, "Though you lack the looks of Pan An, you are still quite handsome. May I ask if you are married?"

In the stillness of the night, Black Design Society Killer Yu Rang arrived outside the Dreaming Medical Pavilion, stealthily moving as he infiltrated Hua Mulan's sickroom. With a swift motion of his sword, he prepared to strike down the beauty before him.
Tension filled the air. Inside Canglong Cave, could Left Eye Blind resist the temptations of Dreamy Beauty? Meanwhile, would Killer Yu Rang succeed in taking Hua Mulan's life at the Dreaming Medical Pavilion?
