Chapter 249: Heading to Qin Capital
The appearance of Li Zhen caught Sun Zhe completely off guard. He never expected Li Zhen to suddenly show up here, let alone lead such a large group of people. Almost no one could withstand their combined might. Coupled with the remaining dozens of Thunder Continent Cultivators, the Flame Continent team faced swift defeat.
During the months apart from Sun Zhe, Li Zhen had successfully advanced to the Fifth Stage. At this point, he could unleash even more power from the Cloudpiercing Bow. The golden bow he wielded was terrifyingly powerful; almost no Flame Continent Cultivator could evade his arrows. Aside from a few who managed to escape, nearly half of the slain Flame Continent Cultivators fell at his hands alone.
The name Cloudpiercing Bow and Li Zhen had spread beyond just Thunder Continent; even many Cultivators across Nine Continents Mainland were aware of it. People from other Seven Realms had heard of a new powerhouse named Li Zhen rising from Thunder Continent, all of which occurred after Sun Zhe had left.
"Where are the civilians who were abducted?" Sun Zhe coldly asked the trembling Captain of the Guard before him.
"Please spare me, my lord! I was forced by them; I had no choice... I have elderly above me and children below me. Please let me go..."
The Captain of the Guard knelt before Sun Zhe, his face filled with despair. He never expected that his seemingly sure gamble would end in failure. He couldn't believe that Sun Zhe had truly dealt with Huo Xing's people. Realizing that his life was likely over, he began to weep uncontrollably.
"Damn it! Are you mourning? Didn't you hear our captain asking you a question? Get up! If you don't get up, I'll make sure you regret it!"
A kick landed on the Captain of the Guard's backside. He was just an ordinary person; although he had practiced some martial arts, he was no match for a Cultivator who had cultivated techniques. The kick left a blue footprint on his rear end, causing him to cry out in pain.
Hearing this from the Thunder Continent Cultivator made Sun Zhe look up and realize that this Cultivator was one of those who had entered Nine Continents Mainland with him—a Loose Cultivator named Han Mu.
Han Mu clearly noticed Sun Zhe's gaze as well. Upon seeing Sun Zhe looking at him, he scratched his head and grinned foolishly, shedding any semblance of his earlier fierce demeanor. Sun Zhe still held considerable authority in their eyes.
"How many of our brothers who entered Nine Continents together are still alive?" Sun Zhe asked in a low voice.
Aside from Tang Yuexi and Liu Mei, there were originally seventeen Cultivators who entered Nine Continents Mainland with Sun Zhe. Six belonged to Thunder Temple's Left Hall while eleven were Loose Cultivators. However, after the battle on the plains, Sun Zhe was unsure how many had survived.
"Most of them are dead. Including myself, only four Loose Cultivators are still alive. As for those six from Thunder Temple, only Tang Yue has survived; he's lucky but lost an arm and is practically useless now..." The response came not from the Loose Cultivator he questioned but from Li Zhen, who stepped forward.
Originally, Li Zhen did not have much respect for Captain Sun Zhe. He believed that both his strength and reputation were not inferior to Sun Zhe's. However, as time went on, Li Zhen gradually changed his view of Sun Zhe, especially after the battle on the plains, which made him see Sun Zhe in a new light. He couldn't help but acknowledge Sun Zhe in his heart and even developed a sense of admiration for him.
"Based on the situation at that time, we could have completely dealt with those Cultivators from Flame Continent and Green Forest Continent. But unexpectedly, they later sent two more teams, one of which was led by Huo Xing. If it weren't for Ling Yue from Yuling Sect coming to our rescue, we would have likely faced total annihilation."
At this point, a deep hatred flashed in Li Zhen's eyes. Their team had entered the Nine Continents Mainland together. Although their identities differed, they had developed a strong bond over time. Because of this, he harbored intense hatred for the Cultivators from Flame Continent and Green Forest Continent.

"Understood!" Han Mu replied immediately without hesitation. He then grabbed the Captain of the Guard and headed into the Fortress while several others followed him away.
"Do you have something to say?" Sun Zhe asked lightly as he watched Han Mu and the others gradually walk away. He could tell that Li Zhen still had more to say.
"I have something I want you to help with..."
Looking at Sun Zhe's back, Li Zhen hesitated for a moment. Seeing that Sun Zhe did not react much, he knew that Sun Zhe was waiting for him to finish speaking. He did not hesitate any longer and began to explain,
"In fact, my reason for bringing so many people here is not solely to deal with this Fortress; another reason is to head to Qin Capital."
