Looking at Daniel's departing figure, Reirfu felt something was strange about him, as if he had undergone some inexplicable change.
"What's wrong with you, Daniel? I feel like he's a lot more confident and quite happy."
"Third-Level Apprentice."
A hint of astonishment flashed in Mary's eyes, but she still uttered those four words.
Reirfu was taken aback. What? Third-Level Apprentice? No wonder he sensed a change in Daniel.
He then shook his head with a bitter smile, filled with jealousy. He had spent so much time trying to become a Third-Level Apprentice, yet Daniel had quietly achieved that status without any fuss.
Especially when he thought of Natalie; Daniel had only been a Wizard Apprentice for three years. That speed was astonishing, almost unbelievable.
This was a Third-Level Apprentice. Many apprentices couldn't even reach that level upon graduation and had to leave with the title of Second-Level Apprentice.
Some didn't even make it to Second-Level Apprentice and had to leave the academy in disgrace. Without the academy's certification, they were prohibited from claiming to have graduated from any academy, which was a disgrace for the institution; it simply couldn't afford to have such individuals associated with it.
These low-level apprentices would never touch the threshold of Third-Level Apprentice, even until their deaths.
In contrast to those apprentices, Daniel's progress was remarkably swift. Even for an apprentice, it was too fast.
It was enough to break records that had stood for hundreds or even thousands of years within the academy. And for others to surpass his training speed record would require at least hundreds or thousands of years, leaving them only able to admire from afar and sigh in envy.
Seeing the usually calm and easygoing Reirfu with that expression, Mary asked him in surprise what was going on.
Reirfu recounted Daniel's situation to her. Even Mary, who typically remained indifferent to worldly matters and focused solely on her training, couldn't help but widen her eyes in disbelief. She was determined to befriend Daniel.
Of course, her intention to befriend Daniel was not to gain any benefits from him; rather, she planned to engage with him after he reached the peak of Third-Level Apprentice, to see whose magic was stronger.
Regardless of their internal thoughts, both felt a sense of not daring to oppose Daniel. With such rapid progress, how could they afford to be enemies?

He could brew potions, set up Magic Arrays, and construct Teleportation Arrays. His own magic was also impressive; where else could they find someone like him? If they didn’t find a way to befriend him, what reason would they have?
As for Daniel being stuck at Third-Level Apprentice and unable to become a wizard, or them being stuck at that level as well, neither had considered it.
Perhaps for others, becoming a Formal Wizard was a significant hurdle, a chasm that required a lifetime of effort and might still not succeed. But for Wizard Seeds, the academy's favored ones, becoming a Formal Wizard was merely a matter of time; success was inevitable.
If one could not succeed, that would indeed be problematic. They would face disdain from numerous apprentices and carry a lifelong stain that would prevent them from holding their heads high in public.
Soon after, Daniel returned to the academy after spending over ten hours. Upon seeing the familiar academy grounds, he couldn't help but shed tears. Although it had only been a few months since he left the academy, the experiences he had during those months surpassed everything he had encountered in his entire life. If it weren't for Natalie and the others rescuing him, he would have long been dead.
So when he knocked on the door of the Wizard Tower and saw Maxwell, they were momentarily speechless. Daniel was overwhelmed with emotion while Maxwell was in shock—utterly astonished.
He had thrown Daniel into the Underworld shortly after Daniel became a Second-Level Apprentice. However, after several months of adventures, Daniel returned having already become a Third-Level Apprentice.
This span, even if he went out, with his prestige as a guarantee, no one would believe it; they would only think it was a joke.
This made him even more certain that sending Daniel to the Underworld for an adventure was the right choice; otherwise, how could there be such great gains?
"You’re back, how was it? The harvest was not bad, right?"
"Of course, I will never forget the kindness of my mentor."
Maxwell smiled faintly, unable to miss the resentment in those words. However, he did not take Daniel's words to heart; in the future, you will understand my good intentions.
Daniel told him about his experiences in the Underworld and then asked, "Mentor, I don’t understand why there are only 0 Meditation Runes on my Meditation Method. According to the records, there should be 4 Meditation Runes. Where are the remaining four that I haven’t seen?"
"Oh, your last four Meditation Runes are beyond what an ordinary apprentice can access. Seeing them would not be beneficial; instead, there are many drawbacks. Therefore, those four Meditation Runes will not appear above. Only after passing my assessment and confirming that you can truly use them will they be given to you.
Why do you ask about that? You can't use them right now anyway, can you? Have you already mastered the 0th Meditation Rune?"
In the end, he spoke in a joking tone. After all, although theoretically a Third-Level Apprentice could meditate using the 1st to 16th runes, in reality, very few Third-Level Apprentices could meditate with even the 1st Meditation Rune. Most practiced using the 11th or 12th Meditation Runes, and those who could use the 17th rune were exceptionally rare.
Daniel could now meditate on the 0th rune; he simply did not believe it.

Maxwell stared at him in disbelief for a while before finally exhaling deeply. Daniel's words left him almost unable to believe it.
Even though he knew that his apprentice was famous for his talent, excelling in everything he learned and always staying ahead of others, it was still hard to believe. His actions were always unexpected, leaving people in disbelief.
Since he began teaching Daniel, he had been thoroughly beaten down, realizing that nothing could compare to him; otherwise, he would definitely be left questioning his life.
But he still couldn't believe that the other party was already able to meditate on the 19th rune and was learning the 0th rune. Come on, talent has to reach a certain level; if this continued, was he heading towards being a prodigy?
At this rate, even in the Wizarding Continent, there wouldn't be many who could surpass him.
After finally calming the tumultuous emotions within him, Maxwell waved his hand, telling him to go back and wait. He would prepare the other four runes first and hand them over once ready.
He couldn't just give Daniel the remaining four runes right now. Although the remaining four runes were far beyond what could be compared with the first zero runes in terms of meditation progress.
However, they couldn't be casually handed over; he needed to discuss it with the dean. Even though Daniel was his apprentice, such a significant matter was beyond his authority to decide.
The last four runes were already beyond the scope of ordinary runes. A lack of ability could damage one's foundation just by looking at them. If Daniel were truly harmed and suffered irreversible consequences, he would regret it immensely.
Seeing this, Daniel took his leave. His visit this time was not only to greet his mentor upon returning to the academy but also primarily to repay his mentor for directly kicking him into the Underworld without even a word. The fact that he left him questioning his life wasn't enough. Even knowing that this was for his own good, he couldn't swallow that humiliation.
