Daniel pretended to launch a few fireballs and then turned to run; he had no intention of staying behind to accompany a few people to their demise. 0

Sure enough, he hadn't run far when a strong wave of magic surged behind him, accompanied by Franklin's roar as several people's combined attack was shattered. 0

Daniel couldn't help but be amazed; anyone who could participate in the Talent Wizard Championship was at least a strong individual with a Mental Power of 85 points. Yet, even with their combined efforts, they couldn't hold out against Franklin and his subordinates for long. 0

With a flash of white light, the group vanished from the elimination match scene and appeared dejected in Aviles City's Central Square. By this point, they realized they had been played by Daniel, acting as a shield for him. 0

Fortunately, the Talent Wizard Championship was only meant to select the strongest; those who could participate were all future elites of the Wizard Alliance. The Wizard Alliance would not allow them to suffer too many losses. 0

Each of them carried a badge that would automatically activate in times of crisis, transporting them away from the battlefield as a life-saving measure; otherwise, they wouldn't even know how they died. 0

Looking around the empty square, they felt frustrated at being the first to be eliminated. 0

At the next chaotic battleground, Daniel intended to use the same trick again, but they had already noticed Daniel and Franklin, temporarily halting their attacks while launching magical assaults at both of them to prevent their advance. 0

Franklin laughed triumphantly, "Hey, why don't you run? If you have the guts, keep running." 0

Daniel smiled faintly as light shone around him; a cute familiar appeared and merged with his body. It was the "Fate's Favoring Grand Spell" from his studies in the three major branches of Fate Studies. 0

He then raised a protective shield and forcefully entered the fray. Seeing this, Franklin followed suit. 0

However, their experiences were vastly different. The spells launched by opponents rarely hit Daniel, and even if they approached him, something would go awry. 0

In contrast, many spells that shouldn't have targeted Franklin inexplicably curved around and struck him instead. 0

Especially one individual who had prepared a powerful spell intended to deal a heavy blow to his opponent. For some reason, Franklin, not paying attention, ended up right in the middle and took the full brunt of that ultimate move. 0

And this ultimate move... well, its attack power was secondary; its main ability was to trap people in place and force them to endure subsequent attacks from their opponents. 0

Franklin struggled several times but couldn't break free, only able to watch Daniel disappear into the distance. The others, seeing an opportunity, stopped fighting and unleashed their magic upon Franklin, leaving him feeling quite frustrated. 0

In the following encounters, Franklin faced repeated setbacks, engaging in fierce battles with others. After much effort, he finally cornered Daniel in a spot, but instead of attacking immediately, he held a spell in his hand and said with a smile, "Hey, why don't you run? If you can, go ahead and escape again." 0

Daniel helplessly spread his hands. "I'll admit defeat this time; congratulations on your victory." 0

Franklin rubbed his nose, unable to feel happy about this victory. It was expected that he would win; he just hadn't anticipated how well the other could evade him, which made him spend so much time catching up. He raised his staff, ready to attack when a voice came from afar. 0

"So Wizard Apprentice, pay attention: the match is over. Anyone who attacks again will be disqualified." 0

Franklin's hand froze in mid-air, feeling utterly frustrated. Just when he had cornered his opponent and was about to kick him out of the match, the competition ended and he was no longer allowed to attack. Was there anything more unfortunate than this? 0

Suddenly he saw Daniel's figure rapidly retreating and asked in confusion, "Why are you running? Isn't the match over?" 0

"I'm going over there to take a look." 0

With that, Daniel activated an invisibility spell and vanished completely. 0

Franklin was still puzzled as he looked around at the apprentices who had stopped attacking, not understanding why Daniel would do that. 0

However, after a while, chaos erupted from afar and the surrounding Wizard Apprentices began fighting again. He couldn't comprehend what was happening and felt like he could spit blood from frustration. 0

It seemed that voice earlier was fake; someone must have impersonated Judge. 0

Little did he know this was Daniel's doing. Once he learned that such a chaotic battle would occur and that he might face all six Apprentice Leaders, Daniel began preparing for the possibility of being cornered and unable to escape smoothly. 0

He designed several plans, one of which involved using Mimicry Magic to imitate someone else's voice. Earlier, taking advantage of the chaos, Daniel had set up this spell. After being cornered by Franklin, he activated the magic to make everyone believe the match had already ended. 0

In reality, it was merely an impersonation; the actual competition was far from over. Those talented participants were not so easily eliminated. 0

But what could he do now that he understood? Daniel had long since run far away, losing his trace. There was no way to catch up; Franklin was frustrating him to the point of spitting blood. 0

Daniel turned a few corners and, seeing that Franklin had not followed, finally breathed a sigh of relief. 0

Suddenly, a super muscular man over two meters tall, carrying two shields and dressed in full armor, caught his eye. Daniel stopped and said, "Reirfu? What are you doing here?" 0

Reirfu glanced at him in surprise and said, "I was just about to ask you the same thing. Why are you here? And you look so ragged and disheveled. What on earth happened?" 0

Daniel sighed deeply, feeling quite frustrated. "Don't mention it; it's a long story. Damn it, the opponent I was assigned to was Franklin. They just wanted me out of the game. I barely escaped." 0

"You really are unlucky," Reirfu said with a sympathetic look. Encountering Franklin meant elimination; who could possibly defeat him? Just escaping was already an achievement. 0

"That's great! After we get out of here, we should definitely catch up," he continued. 0

Daniel listened to the sounds of fighting coming from afar. "Let's talk about that later; we need to get through the elimination round first." 0

Reirfu scratched his shiny bald head in confusion. "Elimination round? Didn't that already finish?" 0

"That was what I called it; the elimination round hasn't actually finished. If it had, how could I have escaped from Franklin? Get ready; with your defense and my offense, we should be fine." 0

Reirfu finally understood and glanced at the opponent he had just faced, who now looked pale and turned to run. 0

Earlier, Reirfu had struggled against just one opponent; now with another strong contender appearing, not escaping would mean elimination. But there was no time; in the blink of an eye, both were sent out of the elimination round. 0

Next, Daniel's luck began to turn around. Reirfu's Mental Power reached 98 points, making him one of the top contenders even among the talented individuals gathered at the Talent Wizard Championship. 0

With the two of them teaming up, who could possibly be their opponent? Even several people working together couldn't handle them. It was already fortunate for two familiar people to coincidentally meet; often one person faced two opponents alone. 0

Soon Daniel learned why Reirfu was there; it wasn't just him—Natalie, Mary, and Albert were all participating in this Talent Wizard Championship as well. 0

They had wanted to inform Daniel earlier, but for some reason, they couldn't get in touch. Daniel smiled apologetically; he had prepared thoroughly for the Talent Wizard Championship and had turned off the Wizard's Mark, isolating himself from others. He hadn't expected them to come. 0

However, Daniel asked in confusion, “Albert? He’s here too? How could he come? With his combat ability, can he really participate in this kind of competition?” 0

Albert was skilled in crafting Magical Items, which was a talent, but his combat ability was relatively weak. In such battles, he would only be eliminated. 0

Reirfu looked at him strangely. “You don’t know? The Talent Wizard Championship has competitions not only for combat skills in the Arena but also events prepared for Alchemist and Pharmacist.” 0

Daniel nodded; he really hadn’t considered that. 0

The competition had been going on for quite some time when the voice of the Judge echoed through the air. 0

“Congratulations to the remaining Wizard Apprentices. You have successfully passed the elimination round. The Arena competition will begin tomorrow. Please pay attention to your schedules.” 0

As soon as the words were spoken, Daniel suddenly felt a pulling force from the badge issued before the competition, transporting him across an unknown distance to Alvis City’s Central Square. The remaining Wizard Apprentices were also gradually teleported over. They exchanged glances and then began to leave one by one. 0

Taking advantage of the evening, Daniel spent some time with Natalie and the others before returning to the Old Traveler Inn to rest. 0
