Daniel looked up at Elisa, feeling incredibly frustrated. Who would have thought that she would be the Puppet Master? He never expected to encounter such an opponent and was completely unprepared.
He knew that anyone capable of maximizing their Mental Power was a freak; it couldn't possibly be just one trick.
However, this also explained why Elisa wasn't afraid of her Puppet's death. Because this wasn't a real Puppet; it was merely something from the realm of mysticism, an indescribable existence.
Summoning one Puppet likely cost the same as summoning ten, so of course, she would summon as many as she wanted. If one died, she could just summon another; she wouldn't care about the Puppet's life.
With no choice but to fight back, he raised his hand, and a graceful butterfly slowly appeared in the air, spreading its wings. It was the remaining spell from the three major witchcrafts of Fate Studies: the Butterfly Effect.
Elisa glanced up and noticed the butterfly that appeared for just a moment before disappearing into thin air. She frowned, clearly recognizing this as the most famous spell in Fate Studies. The concept of Fate Studies was precisely the Butterfly Effect.
She hurriedly intensified her actions, wanting to quickly eliminate Daniel.
As he saw his body moving rapidly toward the edge of the Arena, Daniel felt a surge of panic. He controlled his body to lunge in the opposite direction, but unexpectedly, Elisa simultaneously released her control and pushed him from behind. Daniel's movement became even more forceful, and he lost control, crashing to the ground.
Rolling on the spot, Daniel tried to get up but suddenly realized his body was showing signs of losing control again. He quickly exerted himself in the opposite direction and ended up at Elisa's feet.
To his surprise, Elisa still wanted him to stay down. He struggled fiercely to break free from her control and lifted his head abruptly.
As a result, his nose accidentally brushed against a soft crevice. Accompanied by Elisa's scream, Daniel realized he had unintentionally touched her lower body.
"Ahhh! I'm going to kill you!"
Elisa screamed as she controlled Daniel away from herself. Instinctively resisting, Daniel knocked her down to the ground.
The two people instantly became entangled in a struggle. Daniel lunged forward, trying to leave through the opposite direction, but Elisa also turned around, controlling Daniel's advance, attempting to make him leave through the opposite method. The result was that they collided with each other.
For some unknown reason, or perhaps by coincidence, their actions were completely opposite. She wanted to pull him, but he tried to escape; he wanted to flee, and she tried to hold him back. They both intended for Daniel to leave, but due to their conflicting actions, Daniel could not escape at all.
Instead, because Daniel could not fully control his body, he could only squirm on her like a worm.
"Ahhh, I'm going to kill you."
Elisa was so furious that she no longer cared about the Puppet Master and resorted to the tactics of a shrew.
Daniel resisted while bitterly smiling. In the Wizarding Continent, people were quite open regarding relationships between men and women, but there were inevitably those who valued chastity. Elisa seemed to be one of those people, and he never expected to encounter someone like her.
From her performance, it seemed she was determined to fight him to the end.
The Judge observed Elisa's behavior in the Arena and stepped onto the Arena, lifting Elisa up. "Alright, this match goes to Daniel."
He then took her off the Arena and gave Daniel a meaningful glance—one that conveyed a sense of impending doom.
Even so, Elisa remained relentless, desperately trying to break free from the Judge's grip and continue her fight against Daniel.
Daniel could only smile wryly. The Butterfly Effect had created a situation that was most favorable for him through various coincidences. He never imagined such a thing would happen; the Butterfly Effect had truly caused him trouble.
However, thinking back on the situation at that time, this was indeed the best solution. If he couldn't drive Elisa into madness, how could he possibly escape from the Puppet Master?
But this meant he had forged an unending grudge with Elisa. What he was thinking about now was not how to win the upcoming match but how to escape from Elisa's relentless pursuit.
She looked like the kind of naive Aries who had never experienced the world. The way Daniel treated her, even if unintentionally, made her feel deeply humiliated, and it was no wonder she was furious.
For a moment, standing on the Arena, she was lost in thought, completely unaware of when the competition had begun.
It wasn't until the Judge announced the start that Daniel was surprised to realize he had actually stepped onto the Arena for the semifinals.
He glanced at his opponent, raising his staff, wanting to vent the anger building inside him.
However...
The opponent simply jumped down and said, "I concede this match. I admit defeat."
This left him with nowhere to release his frustration, especially seeing the expression on his opponent's face as they left, which only added to Daniel's irritation.
He wouldn't compete against Daniel under such circumstances; he had already fought a grueling battle in the previous match and barely emerged victorious.
There was no chance of winning in the semifinals, so why should he make himself a target for Daniel's anger?
With this pent-up rage accumulating in his heart, Daniel felt increasingly frustrated. It was as if he had shattered a calm surface; suddenly, he sensed a surge of magic within him that he could barely control.
He hurriedly tried to focus and control his magic but found it burning fiercely and uncontrollably. He could only muster his Mental Power to suppress it with great difficulty.
After an unknown amount of time, when he opened his eyes, he suddenly realized that everything around him had changed dramatically.
It was as if he had previously viewed the world through frosted glass, and now that layer of glass had been removed. Everything was crystal clear, giving him a sense of rediscovering the world.
Daniel was surprised to discover that he had successfully broken through his bottleneck and become a Formal Wizard.
He heard Franklin's challenge echoing in his ears as he stood on the arena, confidently shouting, "Come up, Daniel, and let me defeat you fair and square today, so everyone knows who the true number one is among this year's Wizard Apprentices."
However, in Daniel's mind, he felt an infinite power within him. He could crush Franklin with just one hand; there was no need to go up there and make a fool of himself.
Moreover, he still had to figure out how to face Elisa. He was sure she would come looking for him.
Without even glancing at Franklin, who had once been his most formidable opponent, he turned and left.
Franklin stood proudly on the arena, feeling the gazes around him shift as if the other Formal Wizards were no longer worthy of his attention, and he could surpass them at any moment.
He imagined the unparalleled strong figures throughout history who had stood on this arena vying for the glory of being number one, envisioning their bright futures ahead.
If they could achieve it, so could he. He was determined to become the most noteworthy rising talent in the Wizard Alliance.
Seeing that Daniel remained motionless below, clearly too afraid to come up, he felt a surge of pride and issued another challenge.
