Licker!
This terrifying monster, mutated from a Zombie, opened its bloodied mouth, and a tongue over a meter long shot out, easily shattering the glass!
Before Chen Letian could even call out, Shen Yuan had already raised the Shovel.
Unless in special circumstances, he always kept the Shovel in hand.
At this critical moment, he hurriedly grabbed the Shovel and swung it at the tongue that was reaching in!

Compared to an ordinary Zombie, the Licker seemed to possess some intelligence and even felt pain. It let out a cry and retreated, disappearing from sight.
Shen Yuan frowned.
He realized that the Licker hadn't escaped onto the road but had left along the wall; it could actually crawl on vertical surfaces!
It was just like a spider or a gecko!
The Licker was incredibly fast, its tongue already very hard, and those thick, sharp Claws looked extremely frightening. Who knows if they could pierce through walls or metal sheets? Shen Yuan felt that this creature's overall strength should be greater than that of Guo Dalong, which was terrifying.
Was there only one Licker, or were there many?

The Licker from Resident Evil can penetrate steel plates. Shen Yuan doesn't know how terrifying that Licker outside is; the weak stainless steel pipe probably won't hold up against such a monster, and the iron sheet of the fire shutter door likely won't either.
Only thick concrete can withstand it!
The walls of the communication base station on the rooftop are made entirely of concrete, and the iron door is different from ordinary ones; it's a security iron door, which is relatively heavy. If someone is guarding inside, the Licker might not be able to get in.
The most critical concern for Shen Yuan is Chi Qinghua.
If the Licker really can break through the security iron door, Chi Qinghua would be in danger; A Hu definitely wouldn't be able to handle the Licker!
"Hurry! Xu Lixing, Zhang Huanxue, keep up! Follow the boss!" Chen Letian shouted, knowing that following Shen Yuan was their safest option. Because aside from Shen Yuan, none of them could deal with the Licker. Having seen Resident Evil, he understood clearly that this factory couldn't withstand a Licker; they all could be hunted down!
Xu Lixing was fine; after burning zombies, he seemed to have undergone a baptism by fire and had become much braver. However, Zhang Huanxue's legs were weak; he could barely move and was being pulled along by Xu Lixing.

A metallic sound of breaking stainless steel pipes came from outside the window; clearly, the Licker was dealing with the security bars and wouldn't take long to break in!
Shen Yuan quickly pulled up the fire shutter door and after everyone passed through, he brought it down. Then he led everyone down the stairs and soon arrived at the rooftop terrace.
Fortunately, the Licker hadn't directly rushed up to the rooftop terrace; it was still on the fifth floor dealing with the fire shutter door. Even from one floor up, they could hear the cracking sound of metal breaking.
Using a card to unlock the door, he let Chen Letian, Xu Lixing, and Zhang Huanxue in. Shen Yuan slammed shut the security iron door with a bang.
Panting heavily!
Xu Lixing and Zhang Huanxue were panting heavily. Chen Letian's endurance was indeed terrifying; he showed no signs of fatigue. Shen Yuan was similar, possessing strong stamina and good recovery, all thanks to the Source of Life. This was the benefit of physical evolution.
"Meow!"
A Hu growled, standing protectively beside Chi Qinghua, glaring at Chen Letian and the others who wanted to approach.
The Communication Base Station was small, with a row of cabinets dividing the room into two parts. A Hu guarded Chi Qinghua on one side, while Chen Letian, Xu Lixing, and Zhang Huanxue were on the other. It was a bit cramped, but at least they could stand and sit comfortably.
"Don't say I didn't warn you! You three stay away from the Azure Mantis; if A Hu attacks you, I won't be able to stop it," Shen Yuan said, casting a cold glance at Chen Letian and the others.
A Hu remained vigilant, constantly protecting Chi Qinghua's safety.
If it weren't for the fifth floor being unsafe and constantly facing the threat of a Licker hunting them, Shen Yuan would never have brought these three here. In his mind, his and Chi Qinghua's safety was paramount.
Although Xu Lixing and Zhang Huanxue posed little threat, Chen Letian likely wouldn't be a match for A Hu either. However, if given a choice, Shen Yuan would definitely not leave any potential danger behind.
"Chen Letian, guard the door; Xu Lixing, watch the pipe entrance; Zhang Huanxue, calm yourself first," Shen Yuan instructed quickly. He reminded them again not to come closer; otherwise, A Hu would show no mercy. He then placed a Shovel within easy reach and opened his Military Backpack.
The Shovel wouldn't be effective against a Licker; that thing was too fast. It was fine for guarding the door, but killing a Licker was still far from achievable.
A Licker was a Zombie with limitless stamina! If it stayed outside for too long, they would eventually die of thirst or hunger!
They had to find a way to take it down!

A complete set of survival gear for the apocalypse, containing more than just a few items. Finally, Shen Yuan pulled out a Slingshot.
The stainless steel Slingshot had six rubber bands with considerable tension and power.
Of course, it can't compare to a handgun, but having something is better than nothing.
Shen Yuan held the Slingshot and began the activation.
"Activation starting, expected to take three minutes..."
The activation time was shorter than that of the Revolver, which made Shen Yuan feel a bit more at ease.
"Wow, Boss, you even got a Slingshot? I've played with this before; it's good for shooting birds and rabbits, but it doesn't have much power against people. It definitely won't work on a Licker! A decent Compound Crossbow costs several thousand dollars, which Shen Yuan couldn't afford.
Red Sister's shop wasn't his; he had to pay for anything he took.
Chen Letian opened his mouth but ultimately said nothing, though he thought to himself:
"A person who carries a handgun can't afford a Compound Crossbow? What a joke!"
Bang!
The sound of banging on the door echoed, followed by a scratching noise as the Licker began to break through!
