A group of people drove to the entrance of the Si Zhong Black Market and happened to see several ragged individuals being kicked out by armed men holding guns.
These individuals looked haggard, covered in dirt, with vacant eyes, resembling walking corpses as they were dragged across the ground and thrown out of the black market. The armed men pointed their guns at them, forcing them to leave.
"Damn it! How many times do I have to say it? Get lost before 6 PM! What time is it now? It's already 7! The bosses have made it clear that begging is not allowed in the black market! Don't you understand? Do you want to get shot? Just because the troops warned you doesn't mean they won't kill you! At night, the troops can't do anything!" Before the apocalypse, being a beggar was quite lucrative; as long as one had no shame, they could always earn money. Some beggars even accepted payments via WeChat or Alipay! The wall of Fourth Middle School wasn't high, but there were many armed men patrolling and standing guard. Others were on the top floors of the teaching building and Office Building, watching vigilantly; no one dared to climb over.
Suicheng's power system had collapsed; only a few places, like military bases, had backup generators or emergency repairs with dedicated power lines pulled from power stations or substations for lighting.
Aside from that, no place had electricity, including here.
Everywhere was pitch black, with only the gym at the back brightly lit. Candles were lit and flashlights turned on; that was the real black market, the center of transactions!
The main gate of Fourth Middle School was an electric sliding door, which of course couldn't close without power. However, a few people were guarding it with guns, and beside them lay a massive skeleton!
That was the skeleton of a Mutated Cow, estimated to be over three meters tall. Its flesh had been completely stripped away, leaving only the bones pieced together, looking extremely terrifying and imposing.

The guards at the gate were likely ordinary people, not Evolvers with special abilities. Evolvers held a high status wherever they were and wouldn't be sent to guard a gate. However, these individuals were armed with guns and wielded machetes, and they were very robust; each one was no less intimidating than Chen Letian.
The black market established its own rules but also required strong force to ensure those rules were enforced. These people and their guns were the guardians of those rules!

There weren't many people in the yard; those survivors who made this place their home lived in the teaching building and Office Building. There were only a few cars in the yard, each accompanied by one or more individuals holding guns and cold weapons like knives or swords.
"Boss, those are the vehicles of several Evolver teams from the black market; it seems some people have already arrived," Lin Shuai-bin whispered.

Chen Letian drove up to the gate but was stopped.
"Get out of the car! Everyone get out! Park outside; if you want to enter the black market, you have to get out!" One of the Brutes sneered coldly while waving his handgun. "If you don't get out, you'll catch a bullet!"
"Damn it!"
Chen Letian was furious and shouted, "Damn it, the people inside haven't even gotten out of the car! Can't you see several cars have stopped? I'm not getting out! What can you do about it?"
Swish, swish, swish!
Several Brute members raised their guns, pointing at everyone including Shen Yuan: "If you don't get out of the car, you'll die! Who do you think you are? How dare you compare yourself to the bosses? Those are the bosses' cars!"
Chen Letian was about to explode, revving the truck and ready to charge in!
Although there were roadblocks, he wasn't afraid; he would just crash through! An upgraded truck was that reckless; it didn't fear any obstacles!
