The next day.
As the sun rose, Ziyan quickly got out of bed and, with the help of her maid Yang Xiaodie, finished dressing and grooming herself.
Noticing that Ling Young Master was not around, she stretched and stepped out into the corridor on the second floor.
There, she saw a familiar tall figure standing with his back to her, gazing thoughtfully at something by the entrance on the first floor.
Curiosity welled up in Ziyan; surely someone had arrived at the front door?
She craned her neck to look in that direction and guessed what she might see.
To her surprise, Ziyan spotted Yan Laoguai standing solemnly at the entrance of her yard, looking very dignified. Beside him was Lu Yuan, who appeared equally troubled.
Although the yard gate had been opened by the servants, neither of them had entered. They both seemed burdened with heavy thoughts, giving off a rather oppressive atmosphere.

"Uh?" Yan Laoguai and Lu Yuan exchanged glances, and after a few seconds, they understood.
They were not foolish; they realized that if the New Sect Leader started off by taking action against all three elders, how could he establish himself in the Heavenly Pivot Sect? That would be no different from staging a coup.
If this continued to escalate, it was likely that the entire Heavenly Pivot Sect would fall into chaos and lose its cohesion.
In an instant, both of them fell silent.
"Alright, follow me," Ziyan said as he shot a fierce glare at the two elders.
He decided to head to the dungeon but realized he did not know which way to go.
"Second Elder, please lead the way. To the dungeon!" Ziyan had no choice but to turn to Lu Yuan for instructions.
"Understood! I will lead the way right now," Lu Yuan replied and quickly stepped ahead of Ziyan to guide them.
Before long, they appeared in the corridor leading to the dungeon in a grand procession.
The dungeon was not too dark; along the walls at intervals were lit torches that burned brightly.
Thus, following the well-lit passageway, they soon arrived at the cell where Charming Consort Hong Lianhua was being held.
Compared to the surprise of last night, Hong Lianhua now appeared particularly quiet, only glancing at Ziyan and the others when they arrived.
Ziyan gestured towards Lu Yuan to open the prison door, and Lu Yuan understood, prompting the guards to unlock it.
