That morning, Kairuot woke up a bit late. The sky was already bright when he opened his sleepy eyes and got out of bed to practice in the morning. He quickly made his way to the base of Hundred-Foot Cliff, climbing up with fluid movements until he reached the hidden Flowering Tree. His sharp, night-vision eyes allowed him to effortlessly navigate through the still dim forest, arriving at a clearing he was already familiar with.
Then, using the unique concentration technique of the Kairo Tribe, he began to practice energy cultivation while standing on his head in the clearing, looking calm and composed.
However, unexpectedly, a visitor arrived during today’s morning practice! A dark shadow suddenly leaped out from the forest with incredible speed, charging straight at Kairuot. In the blink of an eye, the shadow was right in front of him.
Kairuot instinctively threw a defensive heavy punch at the incoming figure, almost simultaneously using the Translocation Technique to instantly flash to the side.
The shadow dodged his heavy punch and quickly retaliated with a straight punch.
Seeing this, Kairuot hurriedly raised his right arm to block while his left hand launched a counter hook punch. Unfortunately, the shadow reacted extremely quickly and evaded again, disappearing from sight. Up until now, Kairuot hadn’t even managed to touch a corner of the shadow's clothing.
The shadow began to unleash a series of strikes with both hands, each punch and kick executed with precision and incredible speed. It was clear that their Lightness Skill was exceptional. In terms of strength, the shadow clearly had the upper hand, leaving Kairuot only able to defend without any chance to counterattack.
After exchanging blows for about ten rounds, the shadow gradually increased its power, making it increasingly difficult for Kairuot to defend. Finally, during a moment of hesitation from the young man, he was knocked down to the ground by a strike.
Kairuot felt some annoyance and was about to speak when the other party said—
“Ha, not bad at all!” The shadow retracted its fists and praised him repeatedly. “At such a young age to have such skills; you truly are a descendant of my Kairuot family!”
Kairuot looked at this senior in confusion—he had already pushed aside the black cloak revealing a strong physique and facial features resembling those of his father. However, this uncle had a full beard and deep purple eyes filled with laughter, appearing much friendlier than his stern father.
“Who are you…?” Kairuot looked closely at this familiar face and suddenly brightened up as he guessed, “Could it be that you are the elusive brother my father often talks about?—You are Kailong; you are my uncle!”
The middle-aged Uncle did not answer immediately; he just stroked his chin and smiled at him.
Kairuot, however, was quite certain. He jumped up from the ground and said, "You look so much like my dad, and your martial arts moves seem very familiar. You must be my uncle! My father often talks about you, saying you are exceptionally skilled! Your Lightness Skill is remarkable; hardly anyone on Mars can match it!"
"Your father flatters me; I'm not as great as he says," the uncle replied with a smile, shaking his head modestly. The uncle carefully examined his nephew, who was half a head taller than him. After a moment, he patted Kairuot's shoulder and praised, "You are indeed impressive; you have the makings of a martial artist! Just the fact that you dared to challenge the Hundred-Foot Cliff alone is commendable. With a bit of refinement, you could become a top talent in our Kairo Family!"
These words struck a chord with Kairuot's inner desire, and the young man couldn't help but clench his fists in excitement.
Then Uncle Long told him, "I've been training here for over ten years, and no guests have come during that time."
"Your arrival is truly a surprise!" Uncle Long cheerfully punched Kairuot in the chest, nearly knocking the breath out of him.
As Kairuot patted his chest to catch his breath, Uncle Long continued, "I noticed you from the day you fought that girl at school. From your light and agile steps, I could tell you learned Kairou's 'Leisurely Walk' Lightness Skill; that's why she couldn't gain an advantage over you. It's just a pity you haven't mastered it yet; otherwise, you wouldn't have let her cling to you so tightly."
Kairuot awkwardly scratched the back of his head, thinking it was better not to tell Uncle Long that he had no intention of escaping at that time...
Uncle Long added, "Your last move was Kairou's Grappling Technique; it was applied fairly well. Unfortunately, you grabbed the wrong part; it's usually the opponent's head, not their chest—if you had seized their head instead, they would have been immobilized and in pain. A firm twist would surely lead to their demise."
Indeed, that day Kairuot used the Kai Ruo Grappling Technique. He had reluctantly switched from grabbing the head to hugging her chest. He thought that this wouldn't harm Fairleya's brain; however, things are unpredictable. He didn't intend to hurt her but ended up causing her greater psychological trauma... Every move he made was clearly observed by Uncle Long, and Kairuot couldn't help but admire this uncle's keen observation.
"Since that day, I've been lurking nearby, watching you. When you first climbed the cliff, I was worried you'd fall and get seriously injured. When you stumbled midway, I almost intervened to help you. In the end, you resolved the crisis yourself and made it up. Honestly, I was quite surprised to see you complete the climbing challenge of the Hundred-Foot Cliff in just one attempt."
Hearing Uncle Long say this reminded Kairuot of his first exploration of the cliff—he had accidentally grabbed a loose little tree and nearly fell down with it. Fortunately, as he was falling with the tree, he remained clear-headed and quickly spotted a protruding rock. He pushed off with his foot and leaped up to grab another nearby small tree, narrowly escaping this ordeal.
The boy was thinking to himself: [Uncle Long has been by my side all this time, and I didn't notice at all? I must be too weak.]
Seeing that Kairuot had been silent for a while, Uncle Long coughed and joked, "You've occupied my training spot for several days now, and I've had nowhere to practice in the mornings—are you planning to monopolize it forever?"
"Uncle Long, I really didn't know this was your territory... How about I find another place?" Kairuot scratched the back of his head, responding with a helpless expression.
"Where would you go?" the uncle asked.
"I don't know... It's not easy to find a paradise like this," Kairuot sighed dramatically.
"Alright, I know what you're thinking—let's not change locations. From now on, you can train with me," Uncle Long said straightforwardly.
"Really?" A glimmer of surprise flashed in Kairuot's eyes.
"I won't take back what I said," the uncle laughed, "but my requirements are strict. Are you mentally prepared for that?"
"No problem, I'm a child of the Kairo Family!" Kairuot replied cheerfully.
"Good, it's getting late; you should head back to school. We'll meet here at five tomorrow morning. If you're even a minute late, you'll have to do a round with me. Got it?" The uncle noticed the electronic bracelet on Kairuot's wrist flashing yellow and concluded.
"Got it! See you tomorrow!!" Kairuot responded briskly and quickly turned to dash back to school.
