The courtyard of Kairuot is a compound arranged with square houses on all four sides. The entire courtyard is surrounded by more than twenty large rooms, and in the center stands a large tree that can be encircled by a dozen people. Next to the tree is a fish pond, and there are also artificially constructed rockeries made of unique stones and beautifully designed flower beds filled with various flowers. Additionally, two grand stone sculptures of the Sphinx stand majestically on either side of the main gate, adding to the imposing atmosphere. Of course, these distinctive features were specially renovated by Kairuoka for his son's arrival.
Since moving into this courtyard, Kairuot finds himself in a place with many rooms but few people. Aside from a few guards and servants occupying some rooms, the remaining spaces have been arranged as Kairuot's bedroom, kitchen, dining room, study room, Training Room, multimedia room, game room, gym, library, mecha training simulation room, and break room—there are more than enough.
As a child with special needs, Kairuot has dedicated teachers coming to the courtyard daily to provide him with individualized lessons. Accustomed to living outdoors, Kairuot feels even lonelier without his brother and classmates around to learn with him; no matter how many rooms there are or how well-equipped they may be, they cannot compare to the joy of playing outside. Fortunately, the guards outside seem nonexistent in his eyes; Kairuot never uses the front door. With just a few jumps and climbs on the two-story building, he can easily reach the roof.
Thus, since moving into the courtyard, he has become even more rebellious and wild. No matter what tricks servant Kairou Marie tries, she cannot stop him from running outside.
This leaves Kairuoka sighing; he initially hoped that the new environment would tame Kairuot's wildness and help him adapt to life in modern Martian society. However, it has had the opposite effect, leaving everyone at a loss—after all, they can't just tie Kairuot up and force him to stay in the courtyard.
Based on Kairuot's characteristics, several gentle teachers were assigned to accompany him. However, one after another they failed to manage him. Over time, Kairuoka gradually gave up on trying to discipline this son. Just then, unexpectedly, Kairuot—who had never been sick in his life—fell ill with a fever.
This illness came suddenly but lasted quite a while; Kairuot felt heavy-headed and could no longer leap onto rooftops or climb around. In this situation, he could only sulk alone in the courtyard and obediently study while letting the adults dictate his activities.
Fortunately, there was a large tree in the courtyard that became his only source of entertainment. He would occasionally climb up into its dense branches to hide and watch as Kairou Marie called out for him anxiously while searching around the courtyard. However, it wasn't long before his beloved tree—the only place where he could escape from adults—was discovered by Kai Ruo Yu Qi during one of her visits. At her command, the tree was cut down and turned into a stump.
Kairuot was more heartbroken over this than the adults had anticipated; he remained gloomy for seven whole days. Thankfully, Kairou Marie continued to care for him and keep him company by chatting with him about anything she could think of. The teacher would talk incessantly beside him every day regardless of whether he was paying attention or not; this prevented him from completely shutting himself off.
However, Kairuot's transformation was evident; he began to grow quiet. Sitting on the stump for hours at a time, he spoke much less and no longer wore that innocent smile he once had.
Kairuoka continued to visit the courtyard from time to time to check on his son. Recently when he arrived at the courtyard and saw that Kairuot did not run up excitedly to greet him but instead sat there dazed and silent for a long time—he seemed like a completely different person. He quickly called Kairou Marie over to ask what was going on. She stammered and couldn't explain clearly; she mentioned that since falling ill, Kairuot had become increasingly haggard and that after the tree was cut down, he had completely changed.
Kairuoka felt quite anxious after hearing this. After thinking it over, he ordered Kairou Marie to stop giving his son any more medication.
Kairou Marie was in a panic and said, "How can he not take his medicine? His condition won't get better without it..." After saying this, she secretly glanced at Kairuoka and lowered her head, her index fingers fidgeting uncomfortably.
Noticing that Kairou Marie's expression was off, Kairuoka pressed on, "What other medication have you given him?"
Seeing that she could no longer hide the truth, Kairou Marie replied, "It's just the medicine prescribed by the doctor... I don't really know what it is. It seems like there’s something in it specifically for treating ADHD."
Kairuoka was shocked upon hearing this! His voice noticeably rose several notches as he demanded, "Who told you to randomly prescribe medication for him?!"
Kairou Marie stammered, "It was... it was prescribed by the doctor; it has nothing to do with me..."
Kairuoka immediately issued a command-like statement: "As I said, stop the medication. Do not give him any more!"
Kairou Marie could only nod in agreement.
